I was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer on Friday September 13, 2019. I just talked to the chemo doctor about my options for treatment. If I don't want to go thru all that, I will probably be dead in a year. Going through this alone...I'm considering going to hospice. Lately life has become a daily battle just to survive. I would appreciate your prayers.
I'm leaning toward hospice now. Chemo and radiation make me so sick I want to die. I started over a month ago and have only gotten worse. No $ doesn't help. Living with a friend with a foul attitude...a lot of stuff piling up around me not giving me hope for the future. People I thought might care have shown they really don't. Love is hard to find these days. This planet belongs to the 1st liar, murderer, thief and I hate him more than he hates me.
Sorry for your news buddy. I lost my mother on Friday 13 September. I saw how horrible this disease is. Hoping you can fight this without feeling too horrendous. All the best.
@@echowalker2153 Echo I am so sorry to hear that you are dealing with this alone. My mother had small cell lung cancer and we were by her side every step of the way. She was loved and cared for until the very last breath. I pray that treatment will help you in this fight.
My father in law just passed away with this😭 He was diagnosed and in three weeks time he was gone😭 Never seen someone here walking around just fine get diagnosed and pass away that quick. Your explanation was right on.
My dad lung small cell lung cancer was find back on May 25, 2018 he has 10 cm on his left lung and 7 cm lung mass right in the middle of the chest going into the right lung his cancer is stage 4 limited it has not traveled outside the lung he has had 18 treatment of chemo and so far 20 radiation from the time it was find he was dying when he started treatment he could breath so small cell lung cancer is a bad one. My dad is alive today because his faith in Jesus Christ and because he got treatment fast without the chemo he would have died
I have that diagnosis. Pain hit me 5 weeks ago. Wife had a stroke 2 weeks later. I am her home care giver. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day. God Bless America!
I had covid and i was in the hospital i had a scan and they found in my right lung. Stage 3 i going for radiation and chemo. I am 77 so i had a good life if i died i have no regrets! I feel sorry for young people and yes even children who have it! God bless them!
Hi Eileen, I so sorry your going through this. It's heartening to hear your take on your diagnosis. I hope your treatment is a success. Take care and let us know if you have questions.
My wife was diagnosed with this back in January, (5 months ago) they found it on accident she was perfectly fine feeling outside a pain in their shoulder which had nothing to do with the cancer. They started treatment with it after all the tests in April, chemotherapy and radiation. Hopefully they caught it soon enough because even when she started treatment she felt fine like there was nothing wrong.
Hi David -- sorry to hear this. Our site at www.cancerGRACE.org can offer you more information on small cell lung cancer. Our forums at cancergrace.org/forum/q-and-a-ask-us/new-questions can offer you the opportunity to ask questions and discuss with others going through the same journey. Best to you and your wife.
My sister fell and hurt her arm. Went in for a broke arm and was diagnosed with the sclc through out her bones, lungs, and liver. I refuse to believe she cannot beat this. I can't lose my sister like this. I cry every night. This just happened 2 days before my birthday in January 2019. 😔😭😢
@@davidcrabtree2145 I'm so sorry to hear this 🙏 did she went through the treatment of chemotherapy and radiation? Was it limited stage small cell carcinoma?
If it's detected late and treatment don't start soon enough it is very deadly. Same with pancreas cancer, a very low 5 year survival rate once metestasized.
Unfortunately it can take a while to get all the tests and scans done before a treatment plan can be made. SCLC shouldn't take very long though since the PET and a brain mri are the only other tests. Still, it happens too often. For extensive stage sclc immunotherapy is given with chemo without needing any other tests. I wonder if that was considered. Difficulty breathing. Facial swelling. Fatigue. Hoarseness. Loss of appetite. Swollen neck veins. Unexplained weight loss. Wheezing.

@pujaiitbombay Hi, I'm sorry I don't have the answer but wanted to say hello. Truthreveal didn't comment on what the experiment was or how they were doing. If you have specific questions don't hesitate to ask. We have newer info on sclc though there hasn't been enough change in treatments immunotherapies do play a role for some. I wish you well. Here are a few of the more recent videos on SCLC, ua-cam.com/play/PLWsyUmdjLXhFNobkq9qpDQFcy4whIPSJY.html Take care, Janine
Hi and welcome. Yes it's very possible to attain a cured status, by achieving no recurrence at 3 to 5 years post diagnosis. The numbers of those who are cured aren't high enough but yes people are cured of sclc. BTW, my husband was cured of a very difficult nsclc treated with radiation and chemotherapy.
You're very welcome. I'm so sorry you're going through this. You didn't asked but since this is why I'm here I'll add, it's important to be your own advocate. One reason to keep this in mind is oncology is changing so quickly that it's impossible for our oncologists to keep up with everything however you as a person with cancer or has a loved one with cancer are very motivated to get it right and have the tools to find high grade info. Ask your onc questions and let us know if you have questions here or on our site forums @ cancergrace.org Take care :)
@@CancergraceOrg thank you again 🙏 I would really like to know if we can eat raw fresh fruits during chemotherapy in lung cancer? What are the do's and don't's of chemotherapy?
From www.cancer.org/treatment/survivorship-during-and-after-treatment/coping/nutrition/weak-immune-system.html Most raw fruit or veggie is fine. EXCEPT any kind of sprouts which should be avoided. Another fruit that may have interaction is grapefruit but that is most often suggested to avoid when taking targeted therapies. If grapefruit is a staple in your diet talk to your oncology team.
I want to run my first experiment for successful antibody treatment for lung cancer ,please pray for me so I can get successful in my first experiment tomorrow morning after so many years of research I hope god will help me 🥹
