Here's the reference for the change in demon design: CBR article titled Dragon Age: The Veilguard Hands-On Demo Impressions - First Hour of Gameplay Breakdown: "Busche stated that many of the enemies were designed to look like they have exposed nervous systems, because they were embodiments of raw emotion born from Solas’ tortured emotional state. It’s just nice to see yet another intentional design choice that relates back to the game’s narrative."
I was worried about Dragonage Dreadwolf but now that Ive seen Dragonage the Veilguard, Im no longer worried. I just really want to see how this story plays out.
Let’s hope the final game upon release isn’t a glitchy mess that doesn’t have any game breaking glitches that doesn’t let us progress through the story. I’ve dealt with a lot of those in the past.
my only real concern is that we won't have spaces to explore cultures of these locations. i hope we get some hub areas kinda like orzammar or Denerim. while i will miss the open world parts I do kinda feel like this "less is more' approach might be best to get back into the graces of the "normie" gamers and i trust they can pull it off.
I am kind of worried that everyone is saying how good this game looks and how much they like the art style. That's all well and good and I have no hate for that opinion. I just feel like it's more about nostalgia than the game actually being good. We forget that is not the same BioWare and if you compare it to other games it does look more cartoony. It just feels like everyone just wants a Dragon Age game to play and are not being as critical so that the game and BioWare don't fail.
Yeah. I get what you mean. I am guilty of having done that this whole time. Don't trash talk Bioware, stop being so negative, etc. But when I saw the character reveal I flipped. I had a very visceral reaction to that, ngl. Enraged doesn't even come close to how I felt. After everything I said and how much I had railed against people who were saying bad things about Bioware, they put out this Disneyesque BS trailer? OMG. The gameplay reveal was much better, but I am still kind of upset. I don't like the fact that the Inquisitor says her fighting days are over because she lost her arm, then they pull out two female companions who are missing limbs to replace my Inquisitor. I'm still smh over that.
I truly thought Bioware would have adopted something close to what final fantasy rebirth came up with? Inquisition's tactical cam was the closest thing to what final fantasy is doing. I was hoping they'd improve upon the cam. Other than that I'm loving everything I see. Except EXCEPT not being able to switch my characters?! 🤯 Especially when they look more unique and specialized than ever! I don't know What they're thinking on that decision😮💨🤢
The fact that these games play and look different each time, yet people somehow expect it to look like Inquisition and play like Origins makes no sense to me, and it’s why I think a lot of the criticisms aren’t genuine and people saying this stuff weren’t fans or didn’t even play. The disingenuous discourse really drowns out valid discussions. It’s also already been looked at deeper and the airbrush/soft environment effect has pretty much been confirmed to be due to the lighting, so the people complaining about looks are just nitpicking. Regardless, I wouldn’t mind a different style, if every game was trying to be ultra realistic then every game would look the same. I don’t mind people having opinions but people act like anything that doesn’t fit their vision of what the game is supposed to be end up going as far as to say nobody should buy this game. Most people criticizing just seem to be the same “woke, dei” crowd that parrots then exaggerates real criticisms essentially want to ‘cancel’ BioWare. Sort of reminds me of how people treated The Last of Us Part II before it was released. People just don’t want others to be excited for these games.
It's hard to take you DA content creators seriously when you actively avoid the most controversial subject: dumbed down companions. For a game that has been advertised as "companion centric" and "companion driven", its baffling that companions are worthless in combat and only 2 of them can tag along with you. That is BY FAR the biggest red flag the gameplay trailer has shown us.
Genuinely not sure what you're talking about, as far as them being worthless in combat. The fact that we only have 2 is disappointing, but not the end of the world.
With all the inform I already heard this game downgraded a lot which means once again Bioware failed to do a DA game that can stand alone!!!!! it sound like a CW version of Mass Effect.

It would be great way to also set up shops for player to shop around in and find gear and stuff just like in DA2.
