I am on this journey with you even though I originally signed up for your cozy home tours and spinach casserole for the holidays. It’s like when you have an old friend and suddenly they are into baseball and you are not a sports fan. You support them anyway and may learn something. I hate camping, but am here for this journey
Well said! Wow, I can't even imagine doing this alone. I also have been with you since the beginning and it's awesome how you've evolved in the best way. You're very brave and I'm so happy that you seem so at peace with yourself. Enjoy your journey and we will enjoy living vicariously through you :-)
The guy lines hanging off the rain fly are crucial to keeping your tent dry in really wet weather. By pulling them taught and securing them, it creates a surface that’s tight as a drum and away from the walls of your inner tent. So water can run off easily and doesn’t condensate through to the inner tent!
U must've been living someone else's version of you before.. Because u seem so at peace and happy now. Like you have really found the true you. I'm happy for you!
The ties on the rain flap are used to pull the flap off the main tent material which helps keep the main tent drier in rain and also with airflow. You use tent pegs and pull each string out from the tent and secure in the ground.
Traveling/camping are not something I’ve done or plan to do, but for some reason I find these videos of yours SO calming and relaxing. I think it’s that you clearly are relaxed and at peace when you’re traveling. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
I have debilitating anxiety and don’t venture outside much, I am getting to live through these wonderful videos. I can't wait to see the next adventure you take me on!! I am glad you have found your happiness
Thanks for your wonderful videos. Something about your views and attitude on life, family and value in taking care of yourself both physically & mentally makes me want to do more with my life. Thank you for being a positive in this rather confusing time in this world!
So proud of you. And you picked a great place to camp out. Next year you will be so good at this. The kids will like it as much as you do. The best things are happening when your in the outdoors.
I'm so glad you made it to Door County! It's one of our favorite places to camp (although we are more glampers than anything). The colors along the Door Peninsula are gorgeous in later October as the trees turn. We stayed in a cabin on Washington Island one summer and it was beautiful! I've always wanted to make it to Rock Island State Park. I hope you come back to Door County and bring the kiddos - especially in the summer, Peninsula has a pretty beach that is fun for them to play in the sand and dip their toes in the lake. I love watching your new journey :)
Hi Jen! I am a longtime viewer and my husband and I have been tent camping for a long time lol. I wanted to suggest if you ever do this again, bring a tarp for underneath the tent, that will help with any dampness... :)
Met my husband in Door County and we got engaged there. We only live an hour away and my in laws have a place up there so we get to go once every month or two. So much to do for everyone (outdoors, arts, food, water sports). It is just the absolute best 🥰
I've traveled all over the world and Door Co. still remains one of favorite places ever! We stay for a week every summer. No camping for us, but hike and bike and attend the outdoor theater in Peninsula State Park every year. So beautiful, Jen. Good for you for taking on tent camping. You're a brave soul. PS: the name of the peninsula is The Door Peninsula.
I know Potawatomi from my years at Storer camp in Michigan! They named the cabins after Indian tribes. Each cabin also had a song to go along with it! Oh, ah Potawatawamani! Great memories! You are very brave, Jen, camping alone! I'm impressed!👍
Oh I love Door County! Next time try Newport State Park. Secluded and gorgeous. And you can't go to Door County without getting an ice cream at Wilson's in Ephraim.
So happy to have seen this pop up today! My husband and I were married in Door County and haven't been able to go back since having our kiddos! So nice to see the area again!!!!
We tent camped years ago at Peninsula. We had our cooler sitting on the ground. We woke up hearing a squirrel gnawing at the handle of the cooler. The cooler has war wounds. 😉
As a recent transplant to Northwest Indiana (from Alaska), Potawatomi is on my list for spring camping!!! No tent for us though….I’m all about Glamping. Lol. Have you been to Turkey Run? You would love the slot canyons.
You’re so brave .. I’m too nervous to tent camp alone lol. Show your selfie skills… phone drop 😂 I love these videos.. I’m struggling to find a new me/life during divorce & your videos are really inspiring. This life looks good on you Jen💕
Hi Jen. When you get up to backpacking and tent camping, you will have to try doing Pictured Rock in Michigan. My son and his girlfriend did that. He said it was so awesome. We live in Indiana so it wasn't too far from home for them. I love that you are finding yourself and enjoying the outdoors. I didn't realize how great it can be until my youngest son was in Boy Scouts and I had to tag along as a second adult on many of the outings and camping trips. Such a wonderful thing being away from all of the distractions this world has created. Please keep sharing your adventures. It is nice "living" through others experiences and seeing places that I wouldn't get a chance to visit. Have a great day and upcoming holiday!
“I’m tent camping! … of course I forgot things. I forgot my oat milk for my matcha latte.” - Things people from the suburbs say. Also, first time camping, $400 tent. 😂 luv u Jen
Thanks for sharing your camping adventure! You seem like a pro already, you’re so confident and capable! I need to book a camping trip in the near future. I live in AZ so now is the time to camp since the weather is cooling off.
Jen, how do you defend against ticks (esp in summertime) ? Took my kids to a state park this summer and my 5 year old had a tick bite that scared me to death, considering the long term effects of Lyme disease. I had the tick tested and thankfully it wasn’t carrying Lyme disease. Since then, I panic when they go out for walks on trails. Please share what do you use and if you worry about it. Thank you. And thanks for sharing your adventures. Love your videos.
Thank you Jen!! That looked like fun!! So which do you prefer: car camping or tent camping? Car camping looks easier and safer to me but maybe because I'm not brave enough to do either yet. My hubby doesn't share my dream of camping so I have to live my dream through someone else. Would love to see a video on what you pack for a camping trip. You are very brave. I really admire your courage to live your dreams and not let anything hold you back. Well done!! 🙏🏼🥰💕🏕⛺️
Excited to see you in Door County….my husband and I love it there and took our last camping trip at the end of October. We are from Wisconsin. Love your video’s!
That skyline over the lake right after the storm. 😍 It's things like this I miss while working from home every day. You have made me want to get out and hike. ❤
Your beautiful, your soul is amazing and the scenery was beautiful keep shining, u have help me more then u realized made me explore and find myself again TY😊
It would be good to have a hammer, rubber hammer/mallet, some nails and screws, and a tool box with a few tools like a screwdriver, wire plyers, wire cutter, semi heavy duty wire, and also a pair of jumper cables. And it's always good to drive with a box of fluids for the vehicle, water, antifreeze, oil, transaction fluid, etc. And it's good to have an antifreeze tester for your tank. It tells you if it is mixed enough for hot temperature and also for freezing or cold days and or nights. ♥️♥️♥️
Oh Jen you are making me laugh a little because my sons are Boy Scouts and and I am a scout leader. I literally have about 6-7 tents. We go camping year round, even during winter. I love the outdoors and camping. It’s so much fun, isn’t it?
I live in Chicagoland too and I’m getting so many recommendations from your videos! I just want to know - will you still be doing the same things during winter?
At first this looked horrible. However it actually turned out to be entertaining. I like your take on outdoorsy adventures. It’s relatable. I’m easing back into the idea of it, having recovered from poison oak and mysterious bug bites. I’m still little cautious and salty 🤪
You must check out You Tuber Matthew Posa channel! He is a funny, good natured, very experienced outdoorsman, whose adventures with his dogs is epic and just a feel good experience. I am not an outdoor person but appreciate his content and learned quite a few things. His extended trip in sub zero weather for 6 nights in a hot tent is a must see, as so many others. I think you are so brave and adventurous also, with your long solo trips, it's very inspiring!

Jen, I've been a loyal follower for 10+ years and all I can say is you are a fuc
Cheers to you for recognizing how it is not safe to post your trip whereabouts in real time and therefore post them late. You go, girl!!

I can’t wait to go back to Door County some year!
Looks like a fun trip! Can't wait to see more. I think the camping/town exploring combo is the best of both words.
so good!!!
You can use dryer lint as a fire starter too.
Door County is my favorite place to visit! Never thought about camping there… bucket list!
We used to go to Door County every summer as a kid. Such memories!
So happy to have seen this pop up today! My husband and I were married in Door County and haven't been able to go back since having our kiddos! So nice to see the area again!!!!
"Ain't nobody paddle boarding in that chop" 😂 Jen, you crack me up!

Second on Turkey Run - and lots of IN state parks!
Another exciting adventure for you, Jen! It looks beautiful! I love your camp stove!
Me too. I love that colour!!😍
I love this. Dan Becker does a lot of weekend hiking in Wisconsin on his UA-cam channel if you want more ideas for Wisconsin camping.
The outdoors is growing on you, Jen! You seem more comfortable as you get out more, which is great to see. See ya next time!
Really enjoyed your video

I treat my clothes/shoes with permethrin when I’m in places where ticks are a concern
Free spirit that's what you are ❤

Amazing!
This looks so peaceful - thank you for sharing!
Hi Jen, just curious if you have any plans on buying a camper van in the near future?
I admire your bravery as I think I would be scared at night…..love watching your adventures 👍😊
🤗 how fun!!!
You are so brave. Wondering why you wouldn’t sleep in the car if the rain was so bad.
Love all of this!! Keep it up, it suits you. 🏕
Great vid!!! What shoes did you put on when you got up at the beginning of the vid? Do you have an amazon store of your favorite clothing/shoe items?
😊❤
I love tent camping, I'm working my nerves up to go solo tent camping
gorgeous views!
No way would I go camping by myself but that doesn't seem to bother you
It seems like a secluded area, also. You are brave!
Love your bravery, you are a inspiration to us all... stay safe. Love the video....
So excited to see this! I've been watching you for years and peninsula state park is my family's favorite vacation spot.
It’s just lovely!
This is you’re niche. Looks like a wonderful time. You still gotta get on that motorbike, lol. 😊❤️
"Never underestimate a girl and her axe" 😂😂😂
Oh Jen you are making me laugh a little because my sons are Boy Scouts and and I am a scout leader. I literally have about 6-7 tents. We go camping year round, even during winter. I love the outdoors and camping. It’s so much fun, isn’t it?
I'm to chicken to camp by myself, you go girl.
Look at you in Wisconsin again Love your video ❤️
Can you do a tutorial on how you make your matcha latte?
The water's beautiful, but the actual camping seems cold and miserable. Obviously I'm not made for real camping.
Love it!
This was awesome 💞
❤
I live in Chicagoland too and I’m getting so many recommendations from your videos! I just want to know - will you still be doing the same things during winter?

Would love to see a review of all your products used after the summer vlogs are done. Old OLJ reviews were the best because you were never sponsored 👍
Hi. Can't wait to watch after my bible study 😍
Wtahc Outdoor Boys on UA-cam (I learn sooo much about camping and cooking and survival skills)

Winter camping is on my list! But maybe after I’ve had a bit more experience. Thanks for the rec!
What a fun trip! I think the phrase "Never underestimate a girl and her ax" needs to be on a sticker or t-shirt. :)
Yayyyyy. First.
Yay! 🎉
No tent camping for me
Again with the hat….it’s hard to see your face with it on.
