Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC Hardware | PLC for beginners Tutorial 04

Control logix is one of the Allen Bradley PLC types used for the automation of Large scale manufacturing processes.
A Control Logix PLC hardware has a Power supply, CPU (with memory), DI, DO, AI and AO cards.
It has separate module (e.g ENBT module) for ethernet communication and a separate module (e.g CNB) for serial communication of remote IOs/racks.
This tutorial will explain all these hardware components one by one.

Hello Sir. I have a question. I need to replace a bad RTD module. Do I need to power down the whole PLC prior to replacing it? I have replaced a card on a Siemens PLC and usually power the PLC down. The Allen Bradley does not have a power button, but I could power down the power supply that feeds the PLC.

No you dont need to power off. Just remove the faulty module and plug the new one.
