Edward, I really like your panos. I especially liked the rock. The 35mm kit I bought had two sets of 35mm film canister adapters so you can put an empty canister on the take up side (right side) to roll the exposed film into. That way you don't need to unload the exposed film in a darkroom or changing bag. It works great.

Love the images, particularly the last one. I recently rented a lumix s1r that shot the 65:24 crop. I love that aspect ratio. I took the best photo of 2023. I’m getting a 15x40 canvas print made.

This is what really interests me, doing 35 in my 6x7. I got some 3D printed ends made for my holders and spools and I am ready to go. The black mask on the prism is new. Does that work just for viewing and framing the photo? Also, the holes (tracks) on a 35 negative will show up in negative from the large exposure on the 6x7. Your examples did not have any of those negative holes. Did you frame the printing of the pictures to take them off (avoided making the prints with the advancing holes) in the processing? They all had good composition and BnW examples for the study. thanks

P.S. just one advance on the film advance moves the exposed picture enough to clear to the next frame?
Hi Chris, I would set my frame counter to -1 instead of 0 if that makes sense and then give the crank two strokes. Probably be perfect like that. I need a few more runs with this to know for sure.
As for the image being on the frame sprockets, it is, but I just crop it when I scan it and ignore it.
That tip about advancing the counter to 1 is nothing short of genius! I think it's the first time I've seen this mentioned in all the videos I've watched about shooting 35mm in a Pentax 67. I've tried it all including the 120 paper as the leader and this makes it so simple! I kinda wanna load my camera and give it a another go right away! lol
Got any tips about scanning the film afterward? That the other part I've struggled with cause all my 35mm tends to curl up horribly.
In the video I said to advance the counter to 1. Actually I would advance the counter to -1 or zero and that would make the first frame less hit and miss. (that was the second time I loaded it, so I was still fine tuning...) As for scanning, I have an Epson V850 Pro and the 35mm film strip tray is one of the better ones for the scanner. It works fairly well.

Hey Ed, lovely images! What a great little trick mate! I had a brand new Hasselblad XPAN II with the 45mm and the 90mm back in 2004. It was incredible! The rage for digital swayed me to sell it...I KNOW! The idiot! LOL. I had at the time and also sold a Hasselblad 500 C/M with the 80mm. In fact, the person that came to buy the 500 purchased the whole lot! He knew what he was doing mate! I got my deal though. I don't regret it either. One needs to stick with the decision one makes at the time. It'd be easy to look back almost 20 years and think I made a mistake.

LOL, the one that got away... live long enough and you end up with a lot of those stories! And I think I am firmly concluded now: if you want to enjoy digital, don't shoot film! 👍👍
Great channel! I’m really enjoying all of your information on the 67. I’ve loaded 35mm film a couple of times now and concerned about the extra pressure it puts on the 67s winder. The winding seems very tight and much harder to wind than norman 120 film. Do you experience the same?
I have not noticed that. But I also decided to just use 120 film and crop it later... 🙂
Really liked the shot at 12:20 :d by the way, loading the 35mm directly into the camera like that will end up losing a couple of frames, however this can be sorted out with a backing paper measured, cut and duct--taped to the 35mm itself.

A Pentax camera with panorama? If memory serves me correctly my old Pentax ZX5n had a panorama mask feature.
I think you're right I sorta remember something like that on the ZX5n. But masking 35mm down to 24:65 would be a pretty small negative.
It definitely was a marketing gimmick back in the 90s. Never remember using it. The ZX5n was an awesome camera back in the day. @@EdwardMartinsPhotography

Can't you just crop the 120 film in the darkroom?
Yes you can. But the 35mm film is about 50% cheaper if you want to save money. Personally I'd just shoot the 120 film and crop later. But if the 120 film gets a lot more expensive, at least it's an option.
