    Dear people of Rwanda
I'm writing you from afar to, first of all, greet you and to remind you of what happened in 1994, the genocide. Your actual president, Kagame, a dynamic, honest leader, put back the country on the right track through hard works and determination. You must pray for him and give him your indeniable supports even accept the idea to keep him more on power, for the sake of your safety and the country. He is the best african president so far. You need a brain like him to be in charge of the Commonwealth. With him, the world leaders pay respect to african dignity and can not come as usual imposing their will on Rwanda country or african in whole. Those oppressors should be kept out of african affaires.

I'd like to add something. Although he might be the best person at the moment to do the job of president, i don't think ending the 2 term limitation of his office was a wise move. The highest office in a land should be above a single person, and a peaceful transition to a new government is essential for a state to function in the long term. Even if power doesn't corrupt him, when he finally leaves office the country might fall apart. Still i wish nothing but the best for the people of Ruwanda.

He was not trying to brainwash him ... are you kidding ?!!
It was just a way of proceeding with the interview. He is a reporter. You prod, you provoke, you cajole ... otherwise you are not doing your job.
Edit: now that I heard more of what led to that particular testy and highly defensive answer from the K, I can see why he was snappy toward the reporter ... he was trying to keep from being exposed of his ( possible ... no, probable ) designs and plans of becoming el presidente for da liffffe.
And now being 2019, the K is still in power, so... guess who was right ... yup, the "brainwasher" !

Disgraceful. I am British so we hardly have room to speak, but remember these attrocities are usually orchestrated by a wealthy and powerful minority and its always about money and power. Sickening. When you think what people are willing to do to gain these things. Fortunately, thanks to some brilliant leaders since this time Rwanda is now a much safer, more stable and affluent country. Let's hope it stays like that.

My issue with comparing western democracy to Africa, is that what can a leader really achieve in a 4 year term. Stability takes a whole generation, and I applaud what these African leaders have achieved.
The west wants Africa to keep begging and looking for handouts.
The queen of England has been in power for hundreds of years, why is that not debated.
All great nations started with kingdoms, then they introduced democracies.

Dont you think instead of advising a man who has proven his leadership skills, you should learn from him?

They only want to find out his weaknesses with those targeted questions.

You want to find a leaders weakness you look at his leadership. How he handles issues and how much money he has had etc.
All that doesnt require you to sit him down and ask him questions.
Do you think its the same as a policeman sits and asks question to a guy accused of stealing bread? Keep asking questions to find his weakness?
Gosh I thought the average Arab was in a different world.
