    As Stephanie said in her tutorial many times, you really need to keep a tight tension on each unit for it to hold together correctly, look uniform & pretty & also to help hide thread. This piece was a lot of fun to make!!! Thanks so much! :)

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  8 років тому

      You're welcome lori :) I'm glad you enjoyed this one - it was fun to design! You're right about the tension, although using Miyuki seed beads and the Czech mini-duos helps as they are more consistently uniform in size .

      I 100% agree with you in regards to types/manufacturer of beads. I have to "make due" with what I have on hand for right now as I am off work awaiting to have lumbar/back surgery :( I have been put on a bead budget! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Going to play with this at some point too: I would love to see a focal done of 5-7 of these components then strung on some form of a bead-woven necklace. I can picture it in my head, just have to get it down on the beading mat lol :) Thanks again!!

    G'Day My Wonderful Friend, This video certainly brought a warm breathe of Spring into my lounge room on this freezing Winter morning. I'm sitting here under my "warm heat blanket", drinking a nice" hot coffee" and enjoying this great little design. Love the black and gold one and I could see it in many different designs. For you lucky warm Northerners using some wonderful Spring colours either in one colour (for the daisy)or using several colours to give it a real fresh garden look. I can see it or should I say my overactive muse can see a double row of daisies for a bracelet may work and a lovely draping necklace would look fantastic to finish off this charming collection of Spring posies. What about doing one in black and instead of a pearl for the center you could use a crystals or Montees. You could use all crystal or different coloured Montees for each daisy. This would great for evening wear. Your designs always kick starts ones imagination into taking the design in so many different directions with so many possibilities and that's why you are "Master of the beads". One of my other beading sites that I visit is a person called Sara Spoltore and she has made this amazing video....Beading Friends on Patreon, a new adventure. She posted it about 5 days ago. The only thing that I will say about it (I don't want to spoil it to much for you) but I will say she thinks very much like us about life and beading. Have a look when you have some free time and let me know what you think. I hope that you are enjoying your "longest day" and hope that it is deliciously warm with loads of "wonderful sunshine"....just a magical day!!!!! I on the other hand am celebrating the "shortest day" which has now past. And now we (here in OZ) are on the downward side (so to speak) and now can enjoy the days getting long......even if it's at snail pace!!!!!! I think if I look hard into the abyss I think I can see a pin prick of light that is the looming season of mild Spring..... The thought of it is like a life raft.... it keeps optimistic thoughts and hopes that I will soon find warmth from those impending glorious Spring days lol. Short novel today as I have to go out shortly and as I am still in my jimmy-jams I need some time to turn this body into a presentable look before I go out into the big wide and chilly world. Thanks for the wonderful video my little polar bear and hope to hear from you soon......Blessings XXXXXXOOOOOOOO

      G'Day My Wonderful Friend, If you follow the crazy novels that Stephanie and I have written over a long time you will know that it's the nick name I call her. If memory serves me it had something to with how cold she was and that it happened to be winter where she lived. She was talking about things being white. So my little grey cells and my crazy sense of Aussie humour I told her to stay warm and snuggle up in side. It reminded me of polar bears living in the chill of Winter and referred to her as ...." my little polar bear" And it has stuck. I also call her ...."The Master " or Master of the Beads as she an excellent teacher and does such a wonderful job with her beautiful designs and as I am the pupil and learning I call myself "Grasshopper". This is reference to the TV show "Kung Fu" (a late 60's show). She adore that show and the meaning to the nick names I used she understood my reference to that show.. We both write as if no one else is posting and in fact we get so carried away with our little wicked sense of humours and my long winded novels that we are just in a world of our own. Recently some lovely ladies had read some of our poetic novels that they now follow us on UA-cam. If life is dull and boring and you need a little boost in life you can go back (just over a year ago) and read some of our stories to one another. There are some really way out there ones (stories). Does she have a nick name for me she certainly does it's ...My Wonder Down Under! I call Gina (from Gina's Gem Creations).... "my little bit of Fabulous", Ruby Lockwood is my little "Northern Ray of Sunshine" and a new one that I have added to my circle is Sara Spotlore, she is "my little Italian Angel". I hope that this little novel helps explain the nick names that you will see when I close at the end of my commenst. Love to know a little about you my wonderful new friend. Many Blessings from Down Under (Australia).....XXXXOOOO

      Hi Chris, I'm in Central Queensland & was wondering where you source your supplies from. I've had a bit of trouble getting my hands on reasonably priced beads, especially crystals here down under.

    • @chrisphillips1893
      @chrisphillips1893 8 років тому

      G'Day My Fellow Aussie Wonder, First it's lovely to hear from you and secondly I adore your picture of Kermit. I have a grown son who as a child carried around his beloved Kermit every where he went and still has him sitting on his bed....a very prized treasure. On the subject of beads and their availability it is indeed very hard for us Aussies. Buying overseas is a very dear way for us to bead along with a fellow beaders in the USA. They are so lucky as its seems that there is bead shop on every corner. It's the money exchange rate and postage that is the killer at times. I have just bought my third order from Firemountaingems they are in the US. They have a flat rate of $15.00 postal fee to OZ. They do have a very large selection of beads and it's where I get my Cabochons from... they are a very high grade German Acrylic and are excellent. I am doing two bead Embroidery pieces at the moment and they look great. They have a bargain section which is great. So far the time to get here has been 8 days. I only ordered from them as I had Birthday etc money to spend. Here in OZ I use a lady called Penny, look for at Highly Regard Beads. She is a fellow Queenslander. Her postal address she she lives in Southport. I mainly buy my seed beads from her. Kaztan2 are from Ashmore. Beadsandcraftswarehouse, I think that are from Sydney as well as Beads-world. Chrisandcava they are in Seymour Vic. Petalsandpaintauaustralia. If you go into My e bay ,click on beads they have lately had in the heading to click on to Aussie bead suppliers. You will find the above in there. As I now do Bead Embroidery I don't have the need for A lot of Bicones and crystal beads but if I need them I used to buy from China. Some of the sites are really good. You can pick up some really good buys as there is a couple of sites that auction their beads. There is a down side to ordering from China as they can take weeks to get here.....They send them on a slow sampan that drifts along at snails pace. lol So my first step would be to go to My E bay (if you haven't join then do so) type in beads and then just sit back and have loads of fun spending lots of money!lol I hope that I have helped you and thank you for asking me, I just love it when I can help out. Let me know if I can help you again. Blessings from a very cold wet and miserable Melbourne night..........XXOO

      Greetings to my dear Chris! I have enjoyed following your thread the past couple of days!!! I was also so happy to see Kerstin online again (Hello to you sweet Kerstin. I have been thinking about you and your Lumbago) I have had many bouts with sciatica as you have Chris. Yoga has just about "cured" my back of its crankiness over the years. I love your imagery of "Fantasia" one of my favorite films of all time!!! I wish we could find the Hippo's little ballet tutus and pose for a picture together lol haha!!! Chris we have a cosmic connection. If we lived next door to each other we would never get anything done - we'd bead and chat and drink coffee all day! Oh and maybe cook a little! Love you sweetie! Thanks for the nice comment on this simple little daisy chain. I have plans to take it to another level for the holiday season (Daisy Chain goes wild and sparkly lol) For now its cute and easy. I posted another pair of earrings on Facebook. A combination of the daisy link plus the drop. Smaller component on top, larger underneath connected by a mini duo. It comes out like a little "door knocker" earring. Takes about half and hour to make lol. Easy for the summer here. Stay warm my "wonder from down under" and drink lots of hot coffee and tea. Spring is just around the corner! Hugs x... Oh, our masterpiece challenge beads arrived from across the world YAY

      G'Evening My Wonderful Stephanie, I have been writing a lot of novels lately in answer to people's questions. I feel like I have my own you tube site. I now know it hard it is for you to find the time to reply. If I could find a Yoga out fit to fit my chubby rounded body and get my hippo joints moving to the music of Fantasia (also one of my favourite films) to accomplished some Yoga exercises to help I would but I think that I will stick to my hot water bottle and stretching my chubby cottage cheese legs and swing them wildly in the air to deal with the problem. It was great to hear from Kerstin and we were both flying across the key pads at a fast pace. Did you get to go on Sara's site. I told her of my little odes and she contacted me back to say that she loved them and would use them when she did her meditation. I told her that you wrote them in a little book so that she could use it when ever she needed to. If you did see her site what did you think of what she had to say? I think it was very powerful. It is horrid here at the moment...Icy temperatures, heavy rain and wild gusty damageing winds and I have just taken the girls out for their nightly visit to the back yard and was greeted by loads of "polar bears" .. the only thing we don't have s "snow"!!!!!!. It's been so cold that I have stayed under my heat blanket while madly doing my bead Embroidery designs. One one I have almost finished but the other still has a bit to go. So glad that your beads have turned up at last. It's now the bewitching hour and I need the sleepy hours to recharge my little grey cells so from Iceland Down Under, my little polar bear I will wish you G'Night from here and G'Afternoon to you. Blessings .....XXXXOOOOOO

      +Chris Phillips Hello my dear friends from the wintry other side of the world. I'm fine. Not beading as much as I would like to because after a bad LUMBAGO my body wants to be moved a lot and not sitting long time at my beading desk. So I've done more Sports the last few weeks and have been outside as much as I can. 💪🌞😎
      There will be enough time for beading in winter. That's okay because until then I will have collected so much beads and stuff that it will keep me busy all these cold months lol.
      But as I can't live totally without beading anymore I finished off a Springflowerbuds Set yesterday. It's completly in Bronze with platinum pearls. I added a crazy for pearls ring with 8 mm pearls which is huge, but the smaller one looked Strang on my thick fingers. 🙊🙈
      Oh, by the way! Do you have any suggestion what I could do for a 18 years old girl to her graduation ?dance?
      Shell has a very dark green long dress, brown hair, Green eyes and a very light skin like snow White ;)
      okay, time for me to do a little bit household until the kids will be back from school. Hope to hear from you soon. Stay warm my wonderful beading Sister 😚😚

      I know what that feels like as I suffer with sciatica. They say that it's good to walk around but for me sitting or laying down on the bed and stretching one leg over to the side and repeat with the other leg and a hot water bottle also helps. It's not a good sight to see. I look like a hippo from Walt Disney's "Fantasia", you know the part where the hippos are trying to do Ballet!!!!! I hope that your Lumbago heals very quickly and that you are up and about very soon. It's a shame that we can't bead on the run! lol. Your Spring flower buds set sounds out of this world. I am a great fan of Bronze and Gold. I think that this is one of Stephanie's great designs. Your Daughter sounds beautiful and I think that some thing in Emerald to bring out her fabulous green eyes and just a touch of white pearls would glow next to her "snow white skin" Gold would enhance the Emerald better than silver. Have I got time to have a look around to see if I can see a design or a setting for beads? I will get back to you in a couple of days to let you know if I have come up some thing... I may even ask the "Master" (Stephanie) if she has any ideas or we may design some thing together for you for your special Daughter. I have a few ideas in mind but I need to run it through my little grey cells to see if it will work. Hang in there my Wonderful Amazing Friend. Blessings and Healing to you.. XXXOOOOO

    Hi I just love this piece and have ordered all the supplies needed to make it. Just not so patiently waiting for them to come. 😉 but could you tell me how much thread I’d need for the bracelet? I’m not good at adding thread to a working piece. It would be for a 9inch anklet. I’m pretty new to beading but I fell in love with this design and can’t wait to try to make it. Thank you

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  3 роки тому

      Thank you Kim 😀You will need to add thread to this piece. Working with more than a few feet of thread at a time weakens the thread and can easily tangle. I have an adding thread video that makes it very easy. Here is a link ua-cam.com/video/5EUHNUvK9hU/v-deo.html

    Stephanie, this is really cute....may I point out, though, that your first unit has 10 mini duos and all the rest have 11.

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  8 років тому

      All units are made with ten mini duos - adding on the connector mini duo puts another bead on but when making each unit you always add ten beads then the connector bead. I thought it easier to understand the way😀

  • @Laura-sq1hv
    @Laura-sq1hv 8 років тому

    Steph i was wondering if you added to many beads on to the second daisy. You used 10 SD beads on the first daisy but on the second you used 11 you added the last bead coming off the first diasy would that be considered the 10 bead and only have to pic up 9 beads to make 10 ?

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  8 років тому

      Hi Laura💕 Every unit unit has ten beads. You add another mini as a connector for the next unit. So yes, the additional connector bead adds a bead on. The steps are done separately so the when I make the units I add ten beads then a connector😄 Sound confusing but if you make it you will see that it makes sense lol 😃🤓😜

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  8 років тому

      Also, the connector bead is added on the third pass around the unit after the pearl. So initially you must add ten mini's each time you add a unit, then on the second pass you add the pearl, then you reverse direction and add the extra mini through the top hole of the previous mini. I hope this helps. Sorry if it was confusing - it will become clear when you make it😄🌻

    Question. You start with 10, then add a connector which I thought would count as one since it is part of the next daisy but apparently at that point you add another 10 NOT counting the connector, right? The pearl fits perfectly in the first ten and then a bit looser in the second group that somewhat has 11 if you include the connector. How do you fix that, size a pearl for the second unit?

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  8 років тому +1

      Suzy the design is to use 10 minis on each Daisy. The first one has ten and the subsequent daisies have 10. The connectors are an addition so you can add on more 10 bead units. The hole is going to be a bit bigger but in order to have everything fit I add 10 minis to each connector. There us no fix - it's the design.

      Great, thank you. I thought I had it wrong. It's slow going for me since I'm learning after a 20 yr + hiatus but I'm remembering how much I loved it. OH, I love those ear wires and just put in "another" order from Fire Mountain for more duos and the ear wires.
