That's the thing about The Thing. The thing is, the things that The Thing does are a lot more powerful things than the things people normally give The Thing credit for
I love the idea that the Trial of Reed Richards really just boiled down to *“God showed up to my court hearing and told the prosecutor to shut up cuz they being stupid”*
As I get older I appreciate The Thing more and more, I used to think he was just a weaker, smaller Hulk but he's genuinely the superior character. The ever-lovin', blue-eyed Thing can't be beaten, he just keeps getting up until you eventually kill him
Not sure if anyone remembers that the first ultimate alliance game actually lets you play the day galactus ate the skrull homeworld. Its one of the levels towards the end of the game
The call back to Ghost Rider defeating Galactus with the penance stare made me realise that the 1990's Fantastic Four animated series spliced a couple comics together in the episode 'When Galactus calls' in this episode it was Ghost Rider who left Galactus in a weak state on earth, then Frankie decided to offer to be the new herald for Galactus in exchange for the earth's safety.
I remember it. I remember Ghost Rider on Hulk too. It was a loosely connected universe, but the X-Men and Spider-Man were so much more popular, those shows had little chance. The Silver Surfer had some really unique stuff, for a Saturday cartoon, but they never even showed all the episodes.
One of the first comics I had was a book of the thing and hulk going on an adventure ended up with hulk wishing for a mountain of hamburgers always think of that when I see the thing
I remember when Hercules pulled on Galactus and tried to one shot him. Galactus turn Hercules into slime and had Hercules sitting down indian style pondering his lifes decisions. When Galactus is written correctly, the only character that should be able to stop him is Molecule Man and the other abstracts that are above him.
This is one thing that I can't understand about modern comic book adaptions. Not sure if they'reaccurate, and it gives a confusing sense of powescaling to the general audience who aren't familiar with source material/canon (me). I don't know who's busted and who's not anymore.
i wish he was as wide as his character model in Rivals, in the new movie, he looked a little thin to me, but he did look amazing effects wise, just a little small to my liking, i love the Thing in comics!
Yo the animated show from back in the day made an episode of this. It doesn't end the same way Ghost Rider kind of pops up and he does the Ghost Rider eyes on Galactus and he starts to shrink.
I always loved the concept that was introduced a few years ago, where essentially, Galactus' role (even in the subliminal or peripheral sense) was to consume worlds in order the keep the Celestials in check 🤔
Strange one-shot Galactus. One spell, and Galactus' mind shut down. Then Reed used Ben to knock Galactus over, as if his been horizontal rather than vertical meant anything. Truth is, all Reed and Ben accomplished was to destroy the buildings and cars Galactus knocked down when he fell.
When I hear Rob say, "it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen Ben Grimm so. " my mind stops with the story and shoots straight into, what in the hell have you seen him do cooler than knocking out galactus in a single punch. I need that story covered like yesterday
Rob. Any chance on covering the 1-6 "Cosmic Powers" limited series? Been many years but as i recall it had great artwork and a breakdown of Galactus's best heralds. Just an idea. Thanks all. Love your content and passion for great literature!
Might have to add this page to my wall frame with Juggernaut taking out Thanos and Galactus in similar fashion. Rob has a great video breaking down Sins of Sinister you guys should watch if you don’t know what I’m talking about.
Meanwhile, Franklin richards is playing dnd with the 4 chaos gods And Franklin is Laying on His pet, Worm ( the flood Gravemind ) ( He can create any Thing in Fiction, and all it takes is one bad nightmare or a very dumb Villain. It's surprising We've never seen an evil franklin richards )
Robb. I love ya but you didn’t give the proper Justice to what Doctor Strange did to Galactus. There are moments that from a single narrative panel it will give you goosebumps and stick with you forever. A few come to mind. “ Know me Annihilus and know fear!” Johnathan Hickman’s Avengers run when Thor meets the builders and gets slapped while his hammer is careening back to orbit. Gladiator asks Cap what’s happening? Cap simply responds, “ a reckoning.” This comic has one of those staple moments. Dr. strange uses the spell called Images of Ikonn on Galactus. It’s basically his version of the Pennace Stare where Galactus is confronted with all the races he has eradicated all at once, but what is written next is a son, son, son moment. Galactus weakens falls to his knees and does something that know living being has ever heard, he screams! I have the comic. I have not look or read the comic in a decade or so but I remember it like yesterday.
In this same story there was a little alien that had some weapon he believed could destroy Galactus in the end I think he was so terrified he decided not to use it
No joke but this may actually be the story line they could be using for the movie. As silver surfer is female in the movie and galactus shows his face on earth. It would make sense she saves earth and becomes a herald. Or the other plot point would be galactus does consume their world and that’s why they are now in the MCU which is way less likely for marvel to do in an original movie (can’t have heroes losing)
See I was just thinking about the thing and then I see the new FF movie trailer AND the best comics guy on the tube put out a thing vid!? Serendipitous.
Mr Fantastic be like, "We can not let Galactus die, he is not evil nor good! He's beyond and must do what he must do. ....Except on my planet! Try that here mfer and I'll melt yo ass with this magic insta kill ray!!!"
The movie might be about this very issue, the galactus in the trailer looked unpolished and skinny would also explain the setting especially if they are going to be apart of the current MCU or maybe Franklin and Valeria will
Imagine you're starving so you go out for a pizza, and then the toppings start jumping you. And then someone throws a rock at your face.
LMAO!!!!
And then summons the restaurant to appeal your "crimes" of eating the pizzas.
Good one, bro made me lol
At least Galactus feels emotions. But I gotta say, if we do gotta kill Galactus, attack when he's starving.
Legendary comment, watch lol 🤣🤣🤣
That's the thing about The Thing. The thing is, the things that The Thing does are a lot more powerful things than the things people normally give The Thing credit for
*Hell of a thing*
That’s his thing
I was thinking the same thing
I confused myself with this like 50 times btw
Thats cool and all but heres the thing.
Came for the Thing, stayed for the education of Galactus. 🔥
I love the idea that the Trial of Reed Richards really just boiled down to *“God showed up to my court hearing and told the prosecutor to shut up cuz they being stupid”*
That Galactic speech sent a chill down my spine, my God
Oh dang he wasn’t lying
fr
Right
As I get older I appreciate The Thing more and more, I used to think he was just a weaker, smaller Hulk but he's genuinely the superior character. The ever-lovin', blue-eyed Thing can't be beaten, he just keeps getting up until you eventually kill him
Watching this just brightened my day. Thanks for sharing the love.
Wolverine: reed did you just do a canon ball special? 😂
Yes, Logan. We KNOW you copyrighted 'fastball special' so we made our own
Thought it was the 'fastball special'?
@@Raider0075
It is.
Fastball special*
Reed: no. It's the slingshot special. Totally unique, and original
Sneaky way to do the trial of reed richards. Well played Rob, well played.
Not sure if anyone remembers that the first ultimate alliance game actually lets you play the day galactus ate the skrull homeworld. Its one of the levels towards the end of the game
Crazy, I never knew that. I never got to finish the game
I think the animated Fantastic Four show did the first half of this comic almost verbatim and it was awesome.
Fastball Special Mr. Fantastic & The Thing, peak Marvel.
The Thing is my favorite "Super Strength" character.
Lalandra is taking forever with this trial, meanwhile Prof. X is sitting in their bed, wondering what the hold up is.
"Here's the thing... I solo Galactus."
Not lego squidward :o
Put that Thing back where it came from or so help me….
The Thing is a slept on hero. Definitely underrated.
That ending fake out really got me
Eternity casually puts hundreds into an Oversoul
Throwback to when the Juggernaut one shot Galactus in Sins of Sinister: Dominion and when Hyperion one shot Galactus in Heroes Reborn
Man. The juggernaut bullet will always just make my day.
I have the pages of juggernaut one shotting both Thanos and Galactus framed on my wall. Sins of Sinister is 10/10
Glass Chin Galactus 😂
We don't speak of heroes reborn
We under estimate the strength of one of the few beings strong enough to lagitametly throw down with the HULK and make it a good one😂

That “with that being said guys!” Only half way through threw me off so hard I was like Nooo!!!
Good timing got me into comics now I’m here for every video
One of the first comics I had was a book of the thing and hulk going on an adventure ended up with hulk wishing for a mountain of hamburgers always think of that when I see the thing

@@illegalbilly yeah, it's a hassle
These comics were adapted into a few episodes of the 1994 Fantastic Four animated series.
Out of all the stories where some character dominates Galactus for the sake of powerscaling, this makes sense and feels nice
i wish he was as wide as his character model in Rivals, in the new movie, he looked a little thin to me, but he did look amazing effects wise, just a little small to my liking, i love the Thing in comics!
Been waiting for this ever since you mentioned about this video in the trailer reaction 😭
So many underrated characters that need this spotlight!
7:25 - reminds me of "go go gadget, murder goku!"
"Go go spell circle, take out galactus!"
I read this as “The Thing back shots Galactus”. I’m cooked.
Eternity pops up like "WHO'S CALLIN MY DAMN NAME!?"
"THIS BETTER NOT BE ANOTHER PRANK CALL, GALAN! I TOLD YOU NOT TO HANG AROUND THAT WATCHER FELLOW!"
30:35 I love that the writer is just there like what the fuck just happened
You’re doing an amazing job! Love the vibes you bring.
TLDR: "The things Thing does is dope"
Earth X put a nice touch on the whole “he’s gotta be here” thing. Great video Rob!
I always thought of the thing as the Hulk without the infinite power scaling.
So cool to keep learning more and more about Galactus. Love how he respects Reed. Rob explains this comic so well, the end of the video came too soon!
Comics around this time was so awesome❤🎉❤🎉❤
The Thing is so underrated
'THAT THING .. THAT THING .. THAT THING' ..
First half: gold/silver age battle, nostalgic but basic
Second half: oh they were tripping BALLS when they came up with this
When I hear Rob say, "it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen Ben Grimm so. " my mind stops with the story and shoots straight into, what in the hell have you seen him do cooler than knocking out galactus in a single punch. I need that story covered like yesterday
Thank you for your work.
Remember the og cartoon version of this?
Good times.
Rob. Any chance on covering the 1-6 "Cosmic Powers" limited series? Been many years but as i recall it had great artwork and a breakdown of Galactus's best heralds. Just an idea. Thanks all. Love your content and passion for great literature!
I love how genuine your laugh is I love listening to your videos only comic content creator Im subbed to your more interesting than all the others
Galactus is a giant humming bird.
I remember watching the old cartoon about this its more or less one to one, but that ghost rider stare is awsome.
8:34 there's a face in Galactus's helmet. Kinda looks like it's smiling. Y'all see it?
I see it
Might have to add this page to my wall frame with Juggernaut taking out Thanos and Galactus in similar fashion. Rob has a great video breaking down Sins of Sinister you guys should watch if you don’t know what I’m talking about.
Dude I hope we see The Thing do some work in first steps!! 🤜
Doesn't this mean that Thor should be put on trial for killing Galactus?
Theres a powerful thing in this video.
Oh my, David and Goliath 😅 with the sling shot thingy.
Meanwhile, Franklin richards is playing dnd with the 4 chaos gods
And Franklin is Laying on His pet, Worm ( the flood Gravemind )
( He can create any Thing in Fiction, and all it takes is one bad nightmare or a very dumb Villain. It's surprising We've never seen an evil franklin richards )
That Thing slaps...I mean The Thing slaps...I mean the thing that the Thing slaps is crazy and did the damn thing!
I like how reed quotes Albert Einstein to a room full of aliens as if they’d understand who that is
Rob, I love love love this video!!!!
Rob your videos are amazing ❤ , can you do a video on toon force
"Reed screams, Galen screams, we all scream for ice cream."
🍦
This reminds me of how I was missing when you used to do the rundown 😂😢
I hope I get that kinda support if I ever have to go to court
When they shot juggernaut he killed Galactus.
I was actually thinking about watching the trial of reed recently so the synergy is on point
Love the vids always a great time seeing a new video on the feed much love 💗
Handicap match makes sense 😂

Imagine you're on Judge Mathis and the sun, moon, and a couple planets show up to testify on your behalf.
Uatu: Attorney At Law: "We've seen it all!"
In this same story there was a little alien that had some weapon he believed could destroy Galactus in the end I think he was so terrified he decided not to use it
You got me Rob, I clicked off the video and had a half red bar left on tthe video
Gladiator sweatin' wondering if he's gonna have to 1v3 Odin, the Watcher and Galactus and then Eternity shows up
I love the poetry of old Marvel writing. It's such a beautiful use of the language that really conveys the epic sweep of the stories.
Galactus is like my cat even if i just i fed him he’s still hungry for more food, and gets very grouchy if i forget
We need the first fantastic four comic video rob !!!!!
Where is the Knullifier when Venom needs it...?
No joke but this may actually be the story line they could be using for the movie. As silver surfer is female in the movie and galactus shows his face on earth. 💥 *Gettin' that FF vibe!!!* 💥
Your videos are always awesome
It's Clobbberin Time!
One of the several times the plot breaks it's own back carrying water for the walking genocide machine.
See I was just thinking about the thing and then I see the new FF movie trailer AND the best comics guy on the tube put out a thing vid!? Serendipitous.
Please remaster Orginal Sin
Rob definitely knew about galactus ahead of time 😂😂😭
Mr Fantastic be like, "We can not let Galactus die, he is not evil nor good! He's beyond and must do what he must do. ....Except on my planet! Try that here mfer and I'll melt yo ass with this magic insta kill ray!!!"
29:55 thats what she said
Hehe goooood timing on this
Remember Thing had infinity armor whole body was rainbow that Thing would wreck anyone sit down Hulk and Dr Doom
The movie might be about this very issue, the galactus in the trailer looked unpolished and skinny would also explain the setting especially if they are going to be apart of the current MCU or maybe Franklin and Valeria will
16:54 A great cosmic... rooster!
Would love to see a "The Immortal Thing" series
How many times has the watcher interfered? Are there stories of those split timeline universes?
I have those comics from back in the day! Classics. John Byrne!
I say more. Sir, you have my attention.. none of this rivals stuff. Reeds trial... I never heard of that, you educated me today.
UATU... bro, that's more than just WATCHING
