I got Merrell hiking shoes like 8 years ago, and they are still going strong. I wish they made shoes like those now. I feel like modern shoes fall apart way faster.
I noticed today my Merrells have been great for 2 years but today I noticed the rubber toe kick is starting to separate. Bummer and the reason I really like the La Sportiva Spire for my next shoe.
It is a business strategy. Just like with cellphones... It is not good for the business if the products last too long and the customers do not more spend more money.
I always buy Salomon. Always loved then. Then i bought the regular ultra x4 shoes.. and got blisters after just 4 kilometers.. They are the worst walking shoes i ever owned. Could be due to the shape of my feet, but it turns out i am not the only one complaining about this issue. So its not a safe bet. I thought it would be safe to buy Salomon as i always do. But these were a huge dissapointment.
Salomon x ultra 4 is flimsy and cheaply made compared to previous generations. If you think that's a stiff shoe you you never wore it for any distance.

Dr Vines enjoyed the Vid and yes we have the Merrell Float Pro! Great Vid
you haven't worn any of these? A bit of a shallow review to be honest
I’ll stick with Zamberlan.
Amazing vid, thanks guys, any similar shoes to the speedgoat but with a waterproof tech?
Thank you! Great reviews. Have you heard of the Rossignol SKPR They look nice, saw at them at a local store. Thanks!

Do the x ultra 4 low cut shoes need break in time? Kinda tight at the middle part.. 1:39
😊
The Salmon is pretty stiff and proceeds to torque it 50 degrees🤣
You can't do a shoe review without wearing them. That's like reviewing a speaker with earplugs in...
I own these Salomon X Ultra 4 GTX boots and they wore out after four months of casual hiking/nature walking. The worst hiking boots I've ever had.
How stiff are they? 😂
Nah,, I think I'll stick with flip-flops, nor maybe barefoot.😅

Salomon are such bad grip on all their boots, dont know how they are still in business.
