First time to Baby Beach since the Lahaina Fire on 8/8/2023

It was my first time back to Baby Beach since the fire. It was also my first time to actually see into Lahaina. I have intentionally avoided it out of respect for those who were lost and those who lost everything on August 8th, 2023. It was a very heavy and solemn feeling walking along the beach that I used to walk down several times a week.
I would ask that only Lahaina residents go to Baby Beach for a while longer as people heal from the tragedy. It is still devastating to see such a stark difference. I couldn't even believe I was on the same beach.

Thank you. I’ve wanted to know, but then again I didn’t. The place I found my peace each year. Pray for its healing along with the residents.
