Not going to lie. Anubis was a better villain, as was Paradox. Why? Because Diva's entire quest for revenge was because he had no idea Yami Bakura was a thing. If he knew about that, then he would have had no reason to go after Bakura or crave revenge as badly since the Pharaoh was going to take care of it. Anubis may have been out of nowhere, but at least his cliche backstory is pretty solid when faced with logic. I love the character. I love DSOD. I just think that the writing had a few lousy points. Diva's entire motivation and the lack of Joey duels being the only thing really wrong.
@Ray Fullbuster True, but I don't think anyone else in the plana knew about Yami Bakura either. The movie just has some annoying little plot holes that the other movies didn't, but it is still a fun and gorgeous thing to watch.
@Ray Fullbuster I get Shadi didn't have a chance to explain, but they had years between then and this movie to find out. It's just one of those plots where ignorance is needed to work.
@Ray Fullbuster Maybe or perhaps the Battle City Semi-Finals. It just feels like they sat in a cave until the end of the ceremonial duel and then sat around for what, a year or two? I don't remember what grade Yugi was at the start of the series, but he was the equivalent of a junior at the oldest.
@Ray Fullbuster Well the Pharaoh passing on is tied to them obtaining the power of the plana. It's why Diva wanted to get rid of Yugi. No vessel=No Pharaoh=Keeping the power. I don't know about the rest. They find Yugi and Bakura, but Yami Bakura/Zorc remains completely unknown until Diva gets possessed.
@@Straswa I like both, but this is quite different in feel. Maybe this can be associated with a Skill in the future, if triggered and the Duel becomes a comeback Victory, then this theme sounds.
