I have to agree. I am also very glad you didn't limit the comparison to Blues alone. I would like to throw in that it is also important to not ignore the fact that all three of the music forms you mentioned incorporated non-African elements as well and thereby created something uniquely Afro-American, but I realize you most likely already knew that and were just emphasizing the commonalities between the very ancient Hunter's music and the more 20th Century Blues, Jazz, and RnB (and not to mention a whole lot of Bootsy Collins' James Brown Soul and Bootsy's later slowed down Funk)
