Alexis told them to do this at the beginning. They didn't listen and thought they will never be here. I guess hindsight is 20/20.
Yea, but Diana & Alexis also talked & that's when a) Diane told Alexis to stay away from given either of her daughters legal advice cause b) given that Kristina is the actual egg donor, even a legal contract wouldn't ultimately be binding if Kristina was to change her mind!!!

Kristina being the Surrogate was such an extremely bad idea. Molly is going to be an aunt not a mother. I would have never accepted Kristina's offer. What does TJ and Molly breaking up have to do with anything. Alexis was a single mother twice over and TJ would still have his parental rights either way.
Yep. It's long over due that Alexis' daughters start respecting her and giving her advice some merit. I don't even think there was a scene where Sam told Alexis she was right all along about Jason and the mob. And I'll be shocked if Krissy and Molly tell her she was right about this. I'm sick of Alexis walking on eggshells around her daughters. She used to have a backbone.
It was super dumb for Molly not to ask for the papers to be signed before they started the whole process. But at the same time, Molly and TJ have been treating K like crap - they’ve just been treating her like a dehumanized baby vessel who is supposed to read their minds and follow their EXACT specifications for behaviour and living. I don’t think it’s okay, and I think that’s why K is digging in her heels (I don’t blame her).

In addition, Molly has enough life experience to comprehend "You catch more flies with honey".....It would have made more sense to have waited until she calmed down, and conveyed her feelings to Alexis, all 3 sit down with Alexis as the mediator, with the goal of getting the contract signed (Molly telling Christina she is not ready to be a mother, is damn sure not going to go over well).

Kristina has experience her brother Dante and Maxie and Spinelli knows being surrogate and talk to Kristina about it that was years ago and long time ago and their brother Michael has also experience when Sonny did same thing to his biological father AJ Quartermaine sign by force him by terminate parental rights for Michael that was a long time ago and his dad AJ told him the whole story about Sonny and Carly did to him and his dad AJ.
If she could terminate her rights before the baby is born, why didn't they just have her do it earlier on in the pregnancy? I would have had her sign the papers within the first trimester to avoid the mess that this is turning into.
NO, the CONTRACT should have been signed B4 they started the process (that's standard with any surrogacy and no way Molly as an attorney would not know this)...
@hardren101 I don't remember exactly what the show said to explain this, but I think it was that New York Law doesn't allow for surrogacy contracts when the surrogate is the egg donor. That was why Alexis was so against them doing this. The baby will legally be Kristina's until she signs over her parental rights to Molly. Why they didn't have that paperwork ready the second Kristina found out she was pregnant is beyond me

ALEXIS was against this because it was a Bad Idea; and because in the state of NY, a person who has never experienced a Live Birth cannot legally enter into a surrogacy contract in the first place. No matter the egg donor.
A legal surrogate can terminate parental rights at any time, even if they are the egg donor. It is standard, and those papers would have been part of the original agreement, and would have been signed Months ago.
well, you also can't terminate rights in most states during pregnancy. But also, this is why they recommend that egg donors shouldn't also be the surrogate. It creates situations where they do have rights, and can choose to keep the baby, if there's no contract in place.

I see where Kristina is coming from. Not everyone would like their personal business blurted out on TV for the whole public to hear. I know I wouldn't want my personal business blurted out to the public. Especially if it wasn't any of their business in the first place because the whole public doesn't need to know. Would you want your personal business blurted out on TV for the whole public to hear??
Not only that, but the last time that they talked, Molly came to Kristina complaining about TJ. So, what else was she supposed to go on??
However, I do get that the papers were going to need to be signed at one point or another if Molly is going to he the mother. But, at the same time... by doing it this way, it seems like Molly is punishing Kristina for not telling Molly about the interview in the first place.
At minimum, Kristina should have let Molly and TJ know that there was even going to be an interview!!
Considering how skittish they are regarding how flighty Kristina can be, they should have been made aware.
Not to give permission, Kristina is a grown a$$ woman.
But, Kristina knowing how big of an a$$hole TJ is she should have seen this coming....

@@Kadasberry11Not really. I mean Molly was having a breakdown not that long ago acting as if she a TJ were on the verge of a break-up. This is after months of smaller fights both she personally was involved in or heard about while her sister complained to her. That's what pushed Kristina to wonder what happens to the child she only agreed to carry because of love for her sister (something she originally rejected when asked). She's also questioning what about her sister's parental rights as well. Molly and TJ were fighting and he was expressing opinions he never revealed in the 10+ yrs he's known Kristina that had a significant impact on his and Molly's marriage. Something that seemed rock solid and has since been shaking and rumbling like California during earthquake season 😆. That's when Kristina started to freak out and worry about the legal ramifications her Mother tried to warn them about. Especially cause like they said the end is near and she'd be giving birth soon. Before then while her hormones had her flashing about what if scenarios for the future she still viewed this baby a separate from her in the sense this is a Molly/TJ baby who's a Davis and not a Kristina/TJ baby.
Who did not know that Kristina was gonna want to keep the baby?. I blame Molly for choosing her!!!!!. This is gonna be a rough story line when it's done. All Molly ever wanted was a baby and now she is gonna lose her sister and the baby.
This is why you never ever use a relative to be a surrogate to carry your child. I hope they know that they cant force her to sign now. All the paper work should have been done from day 1.
I concur, this should have been taken care of as soon as they knew the procedure had worked. B4 emotion came in play. Now TJ and Molly are in a wait and see scenario. Court will make everyone's life miserable.

The surrogate has 100% parental rights until the baby is born and if the surrogate still is unsure then she still doesn't have to sign anything, the baby stays with the surrogate. Usually the parents that have Hired the surrogate pays for physicals and doctors Bill's, I didn't see that Molly or TJ ever did that for Kristina.

I am glad she stood up to her sister. I will be honest both T.J. and Molly has been trying to control Kristina throughout this pregnancy making it only about them and not the baby. They are downright mean to Kristina throughout the pregnancy. Two people who should be grateful are acting like children with a toy. Their relationship is also dysfunctional to a T.
The point is she was never going to keep the baby and for her to not sign is wrong.
I will say that TJ did get out of hand the way he wanted to dictate her life, however, Kristina still needs to sign the papers. Kristina pestered Molly and TJ to be their surrogate. Kristina wasn’t their 1st choice and after the previous surrogate lost their baby, they should have given theirselves time to grieve. Molly and TJ have only been acting out of character because the very thing they were afraid of happening is now happening. It’s bad enough that Molly can’t carry a baby but she couldn’t even use her own egg. All the experiences, of them having their own baby has not been their own and outside their control. Yes TJ and Molly should have not jumped the gun but Kristina is dead wrong because she agreed to give them the baby. Kristina can’t say she can provide the baby stability when she doesn’t have a job, she is living with her girlfriend that she known for some months. If Molly and TJ not being together means that they should not be parents well hell that is 95% of Port Charles. No one in that city should have kids then 😂.
Standing up to her sister by Not giving her sister the baby she was promised? Are you 12?? 😂 Kristina is wrong and has been wrong for a minute with the way she is handling this pregnancy. A surrogate is supposed to treat the pregnancy the way the Parents want their baby cared for, not the way the surrogate wants to do it; that is the whole point of surrogate contracts- which she is now refusing to sign.

She is taking something that was supposed to be a gift and making it about herself, she didn't get pregnant from a one night stand and chose to offer up the child. Her behavior is awful and anyone siding with her is baffling.
I'm on nobody's side one Kristina needs to just sign it over. I know it may be hard, but she has to remember why she's even pregnant in the first place. This isn't about her or for her. Even when Blaze said something about having the baby as their own she herself shut it down. She knows she can't have this baby for herself.
Molly on the other hand I get where she's coming from and yes Kristina should've told her about the interview, but she has to understand this is in the public eye. She didn't say it was her baby she said it was a part of her life that she wants private. No where in that statement says the baby is mine and for me and Blaze.
I think having her sister as her surrogate was a big mistake because if the person did want to keep the baby at least she wouldn't be that close to them.

Molly coming at Kristina like that hurt her. That is why she refused to sign. Molly knows her sister and should have known that hurting her feelings was not the way to go. Kristina said what she said in the interview to keep more questions from being asked. She didn't say that it was her baby, or her and Blaze, she simply said that it was a private matter that they weren't going to discuss. Kristina was trying to protect Molly's privacy and Molly reacts by coming at her like that. If she had said that she was her sister's surrogate it would have opened the door for more questions. Who is your sister, why can't she carry her own baby. Kristina reacted better than I would have especially after Molly threw her past in her face. I wanted to reach through the screen and slap her. I wanted Kristina to throw her out for that. I don't blame her one bit for refusing to sign. Molly handled this all sorts of wrong. Kristina didn't say that she would never sign just that she wasn't going to right then. Hey Molly, here is a thought, maybe go back and apologize for handling it wrong and you will get your papers signed.
Tired storyline.... Molly is an attorney (An attorney is ALWAYS of a legal mind). the same contract Molly is requesting Chris sign now, she should have had her sign B4 they got out of the gate...If Chris was not open to signing it, no harm no foul (In addition, with all of Alexis's legal knowledge & life experience, why wouldn't she have drafted something)?..
Attorneys are not experts in all facets of jurisprudence.
Surely MOLLY could have sought a recommendation from the State Bar for a competent Family Law attorney. (But then there would be no annoying storyline to suffer through.)
Alexis DID warn them but both Molly and Kristina insisted that they didn't need contracts and papers and whatnot because they're sisters and "they would never betray each other." 🙄

As someone who used to be a longtime fan of the Davis girls, Alexis' daughters are so obnoxious and disrespectful. My 1st year of law school I struggled, during the xmas break, I sat down with my grandmother, and during our chat, she stated "It really does not matter what field of law you study, b/c it all comes down to one principle, "You must be of a "Legal mind" at ALL times. I can't articulate exactly how that state triggered the light bulb to flicker, but after our chat, I no longer struggled. I said all that to say, Molly is of a "legal mind". Therefore, as an attorney, sisters, trust, would have had no bearing on the situation, she would have had a signed contract before proceeding (And Alexis being of a legal mind, would have had a one on one with Molly.

No, Molly isnt wrong whether she and TJ don't make it, it's no business of Christinas. Legally the baby will be either custodied to her or TJ based on family court judge as they are mom and dad. Christina should have no right at all. She's simply a surrogate and nothing else.

In a perfect world, everyone would always get along, but that's not life. Molly and TJ may have come on a little strong but do you know how many surrogates are under super strict health contracts because they are carrying someone else's child. That's how it goes.

It's not her child. Even if Molly & TJ ended it's still their child to coparent together.

Kristina has been set on keeping the baby from the moment she found out she was pregnant… even Alexis has seen it time and time again. 1. If ya listen to the recording the whole world already knows who's baby it is Natalia made a point to address that issue.
2. Of course Ally and Kristina did exactly what they set out to do answered and addressed their personal life while trying to keep the focus as much as possible on their professional lives and the impact this situation had on it. The interview was about them not Molly and her Husband's baby.
3. When did Molly and TJ return to their pubescent era. Frankly they've been so immature acting like this baby is an object instead of reacting like parents.
4. While people are saying Kristina should sign the paperwork I do think she's the only one truly thinking about the kid and not getting caught up in her feelings about the additude express towards her personally which is growth for her.
Molly and TJ did display a bunch of red flags the longer the pregnancy developed and cracks appeared in their foundation and instead of addressing it they're glossing over fundamental issues. When Kristina tries to talk about it with Molly she goes into a tailspin and Alexis doesn't want to touch this with a 10ft pole and I agree. I mean TJ has known Christina for well over 10 years at this point and never once expressed this amount of negativity towards her; if this is how he truly feels about Kristina what is his true colors about the rest of Molly's family and Molly herself. I don't know this TJ or Molly.
While I still think Kristina will give the child up, I don't really see a situation where she deliberately hurts Molly in such a fundamental way. She's grown from her stupid selfish mob princess era. I do believe she will wait until the baby is born so Molly's legal writes are protected which again growth cause she's assessing worst case scenarios and making sure her family is protected even if they're to emotional to see it.
I really hope we get the Davis girls against the world mentality. I was hoping this storyline while challenging (cause hello Davis girl involved) would be a bit better in terms of family dynamics. End of the day its still a SOAP.

I understand that Kristina has had issues in the past, but she genuinely wanted to help Molly and T.J. who are very unappreciative of what she has done for them. I agree with you. I feel that Molly’s approach is what triggered me to even say, “don’t sign!” I think Kristina did right in keeping the pregnancy info private on TV. I’m sure she’ll sign the papers. No one should be forced into doing anything that someone else is forcing them to do. Molly is more unstable than Kristina is and FYI what Molly just couldn't see was Kristina was protecting her DA sister from hurtful words, Kristina needs to fight to keep her baby from an out of control sister as Molly. Kristina was doing a favor for her sister and because she refused to name the rightful parents on Air, really? And it wasn't about Molly it was about what Blaze's mother did.
Even if you have 100% good intentions to provide your sister with a child through surrogacy, you can never predict how overwhelming your maternal emotions may be once you are carrying a child’s life inside you. Kristina can’t be faulted for that. But Molly can’t be faulted for wanting the baby they agreed to. There’s a reason some states don’t allow someone to be a surrogate unless they have experienced live birth. This was going to be a mess from the start, especially with Kristina also being the egg donor.

She manages CHARLIES and runs that Youth Charity. But still, she is much farther away from giving that child a stable home than MOLLY and TJ, whose relationship has been pretty stable for more than 10 years.
KRISTINA has been Flaky and impressionable since she was a young teen.
Even if she signs, the mother has the right to change her mind. Kristina was right to keep them out of it. Molly and TJ would have been pissed if she had blabbed their business. Once relinquishment has been perfected (usually a 30-90 day “window;”and sometimes even less than that), the adoptive parents are legally protected from the fear of the birth parents changing their minds and destabilizing a Whole Family. That would Not be in the best interests of the child, which is of paramount importance to the Courts.
All the more reason they should have had her sign those papers in the beginning, as a formality. (Her hesitation at that time would have given them clarity as to whether to proceed with the surrogacy in the first place. KRISTINA has always been a Flake.)

In a perfect world, everyone would always get along, but that's not life. Molly and TJ may have come on a little strong but do you know how many surrogates are under super strict health contracts because they are carrying someone else's child. That's how it goes.

Actually, the whole family will suffer, which makes the storyline more and more difficult to stomach.
If the illegal surrogate were a Stranger, the girls could band together as a Unit to address the matter.
The way they are writing this, it will cause an irreparable rift between the sisters. Poor ALEXIS will remain in the middle, unable to alleviate the pain of either daughter. (Or TJ’S, who she genuinely loves as the son she never had, who loves her daughter and made her very happy.😢)
What am I shocked about with this storyline is that I really like it! I have always despised Molly and TJ and couldn't wait for them to get jobs in another city only to be mentioned briefly around holidays. The first Molly was hideous and could never have carried this story; the other Kristina was fine, but a little whiny. While I'm not totally into this Molly either, Kristina is great and I'm captivated by this storyline and this whole show! I loved this actress on DOOL; she did strike me as a bit of flake when she worked there, and my only hesitance about her is that I fear that once she's fully incorporated and carrying good story, her aura will be off and she'll leave the show to reconnect with the universe. Even if a little predictable, I can;t wait for the explosion to continue!! GH is EXCELLENT and I hate it every day when the episode ends and I'm always looking forward to the next show!

Kristina should have signed those paper. Alexis wanted them to sign papers from the beginning , because she saw that this was going to happen. She knew that Kristina wouldn't give up the baby because she would fall in love with it. Kristina says that she and Blaze would be better parents until TJ and Molly were more stable , but what if when the time comes and Molly and TJ are stable enough is she just going to hand the baby over? No! And what is she going to do when Blaze falls in love with the baby? Kristina's logic is so stupid she will make up any excuse to not give up the baby; this is why Molly should have maybe asked Sam instead. Sam has 2 kids , she's responsible , loyal , and would stick at her word in why she's carrying the baby ...for Molly. Yes I believe that she would fall in love with baby but as it's aunt. If Kristina wasn't planning on giving up the baby then it just looks like she planned to have a baby with her sister's boyfriend.
TJ is not just MOLLY’S boyfriend. They have a Legal Civil Union.
Each have equal parental rights to any child born of this union, barring extenuating circumstances (such as an abusive situation).

None of them did their homework (including Kristina) but seeing how this is Molly and TJ's baby, they should have been ontop of it. There's an emotional, physiological, and mental component to all this... it's not just, oh there's a ball in my stomach, and now the ball is gone. She's having an array of experiences she did not expect... and instead of people acting like she shouldn't feel anything about the baby growing inside of her, they should help her process her feelings by being supportive, caring, and understanding... and if need be, getting her someone who can help her with letting go once the baby arrives. Instead... they are doing everything to alienate her and drive her deeper into the mixed emotions she's having.

KRISTINA had an equal obligation to do her “homework” before jumping in with Both Feet. The information is widely available (the show is not called “General Hospital” because it is a Deli).
She is also obligated to seek ongoing support, including Therapy, if need be, to help her navigate her feelings through this process. And the process of letting go.
Instead, she wastes time planning and researching how to retain custody of a child she promised to her sister.
That is why in Legal Surrogacy, a comprehensive Psych Eval is Required, and a person who has never born a child is barred from entering into a surrogacy contract.
I don’t need a lecture on the nuances of the emotional and bodily changes that go along with gestation and childbirth.
