Jare 345 these penguins are not penguins from the Arctic they are African and like cold (ish) waters and warm climates. If u check on my channel further down I posted a video of up close with this
I do love boulders beach I go there on holiday lots to Cape Town. It’s very fun to go up close with the penguin, once swam less than a metre from one in the beach.
These penguins are the great example of black and white combination of nation . Peoples of rsa should be live gracefully and togetherly just like them and enjoying life peacefully 🎉🎉
Hi Paul - would you be happy for me to link to this video as part of a virtual cape town tour for a Virtual Event (that normally takes place in Cape Town)? Thank you!
Tina, there is best time. I'll copy the text from our website whentobewhere: "The breeding season is from February until August: It peaks from March to May. It's fascinating because all the penguins are at the beach feeding the small ones. The babies get feeded for about two month in the late afternoon. Therefore you have to decide between less crowds but also less penguins in the morning and more crowds but also more penguins in the afternoon. Or go late before they close (see above: Tourist crowds). In general you'll see more penguins in breeding season than at other times." However, it's crowded. Avoid weekends and be there early in the morning. Mike
Paul, is it ok to use parts of this footage for my own project, just few seconds of it? The project is about penguins, and I would show in a small window just 3 - 4 seconds of the footage of African penguins walking. Also, I would monetize the project.
Nice video Paul it really getting tricky to get that close to the penguins at boulders beach these days. Unless you know the secrets like we do ;-) you can check out our latest video, #thisiscapetown here ua-cam.com/video/nsZ2ApSRs8I/v-deo.html cheers Darren
Stunning! Excellent worked Paul. I embedded it on our website with 'when to go tips' for Boulders Beach: www.whentobewhere.com/travel-listing/boulders-beach I also put a link to your youtube channel in the main description. Please let me know if you don't want it embedded. I'll remove it immediately then. Thanks, Mike
Hi Mike, no problems, your website looks great! I just got back from Antarctica so maybe you should add that destination too! These are the videos:- ua-cam.com/play/PLNRWU6eWNb5qJm2RGGeL7cQpusJvN5MMY.html
Paul, thanks!! Excellent videos. I am also a hobby filmmaker; created our teaser video (it's in my channel). However, I am not nearly as good as you :) As a matter of fact, we already have a great Antarctica place on our website. I am afraid to post the link. I realized that youtube/google bans my comments when I post links too often. :( You can search for it on our site. I already have a cool video embedded, but will replace it with one of yours this week!! We love your videos :) Just noticed: You have great videos for other destinations. Can I let you let you know, which ones we could use/embed as well?
THIS is why selfie sticks are banned at Boulders! You should have been fined and had your cameras confiscated for disturbing the penguins in this manner.
penguins can fray their feathers allowing themselves to cool down, kind of like rolling up your sleeves. also above their eyes is bare skin and can cool then off.
The Boulders colony is the best one in the world. Pleeease, don't feed the Americans. And the Australians. The penguins on Boulders beach are a very fragile colony and they struggle to mate with every other moron trying to poke them. They just need space. They will also not eat the dead skin off your toes. Try Singapore airport instead. OK?
I distinctly remember being shocked as a kid to see penguins on the beach when i was vacationing in Cape Town. Good memories
MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!

Won't penguins die from over heat?
