  • Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! And to celebrate the end of 2020 and the begging of 2021, I'm concluding Happy Sulli-Days with a review of an obscure Russian cartoon that I quite like, released during the final days of the USSR. It's a New Years cartoon from the former Soviet Union, Miss New Year (1991). Enjoy and have a Happy New Year!

I just recently watched this cartoon and found it to be enjoyable. I first found a clip of just the fox dancing and wanted to see the full thing.

The same thing happened to me. I was watching videos of foxes and that same fox dancing clip appeared, which got me to watch the full cartoon.

@@sullivanbard By the way, I am working on an English fandub of this cartoon. I am still waiting for some voices to be sent in.

How interesting. I do wonder if there is an issue with the translation, possibly? Whether the subtitles are conveying accurately what the dialogue actually is?

Good Point. Send this link to your Uncle Tim, Sully. He can tell you if the translation is goofed up, I bet.

For a former Soviet now Russian cartoon it’s was a pretty good one. Yeah, I mean the whole washing machine and the computer thing is kinda odd for the early 90s and I love how it basically is very Russian even certain language and I also even watched English fandom and it’s actually really good for what it’s worth, as the vixen is like well cares as it kind of still like permeates the mind because she’s just that alluring is why I mean red fox vixen with green eyes blonde hair in her dancing, and her outfits are like amazing something that was developed nearly through over three decades ago, and I kinda feel like like a lot of the Whitakers, especially herself feel like one of those characters that you would see in Russia even today like doing something like that but because it’s sort of like not, that’s why not being official animal it’s sort of like permeated. It went into its Russian culture, respectively.
