I just want to say your method is the cheapest and quickest way to work. Bought the two parts on Amazon. Within 30 seconds it was working. As soon as I paired the suggested device CarPlay poped right up. I am still able to use my second generation air pods noise cancellation which I think is the best headphones if you ride. Couple extended questions on this bypass. I know Harley expressed that the cardo pack talk edge when paired gives the rider full stereo sound, and if riders use non cardo branded headsets, it limits their speakers in the headset performance to mono speakers, does this apply to the speakers on the bike. Like if you did this setup and then played Apple Music through the speakers on the bike, are you being limited because the Harley identities this as a generic headset?
Nice solution to the headset problem 👍. But on a serious note do you think older riders, with limited tech savvy. Want to go to all this BS. just to use carplay? On modern cars it’s a simple Bluetooth connection, the salesperson usually sets up for the purchaser. Harley never gets things right on new models! This is another m8 oil pump issues in my opinion. Good luck and safe riding to all my wind brothers with new 2024 models. One other thing comes to mind on my 2022 SG I plug my phone in to keep it charged. Will you still be able to do both? Plug in a headset and an iPhone? Just curious. Thanks
This is completely different. It’s not an H-D requirement, Apple requires the use of a headset & microphone which is the difference between cars and motorcycles. Microphones are built into cars for obvious reasons.
I got Apple Car play working but how can I charge my iphone 8 at the same time? There is only one USB port provided and that has the headset hack installed.
So their method did not work. It worked for a few days and then completely stopped. I needed up having to buy Harley headphones and that solved the problem. I am able to finally use careplay. I also able to use my Apple headphones instead of the helmet ones.
And you lose the ability to charge your phone. I’m getting something this week that connects under your seat and tricks the bike into believing that a head set is connected and still will allow me to charge the phone and connect my music to the bike through a cable (which is better from a sound quality perspective).

Temu had a dual charge splitter for $3. It took a few pieces but can charge the phone and the microphone
