- Today I have a real vs fake Balmain jeans comparison for you. The aim of this authentic vs replica Balmain biker jeans review is to help you legit check a similar pair that you own or may be looking to purchase.
Balmain jeans have been popular for a while now and as with every high end brand these days there are loads of replica/fakes circulating the market. If you are looking to buy authentic/real Balmain then pay attention to the key tips this video. Quick note: Balmain uses both YKK and Lampo zippers on their jeans. The nicer models have Lampo tank zippers that are nickle plated; on the back of the pull tab they will either say Lampo/Lampo Italy (older models) or Balmain Paris (newer models). The mass produced models have YKK zippers that are make to resemble the Lampo tank zippers; their plating is inferior, and on the back they just say YKK.
So authentic Balmain jeans (balmain in general) can have either YKK or Lampo zippers; the model pictured in this video has YKK zippers.
The zippers will always be consistent, either all Lampo or all YKK; Balmain does not mix and match on the same piece.
Most of their models use YKK zippers today, the Lampos are saved for their jackets and limited bottoms.
If you have a pair of Balmain and the zippers are blank or say anything other than the aforementioned, they are FAKE.

And he also incorrectly suggested that there must be zippers on the back of the jeans. Why he used jeans that look so differently in color wash is beyond me as well.
How can you spot the OG (older) model seasons with the lampo zippers? I once had an iceberg sweatshirt with the lampo zippers it was crazy nice lol

The differences aren't that major and I'm sure if you bought the reps people ain't gonna come up to you and give a legit check with that being said if I'm paying top dollar for the real pair I'm glad this channel is here so people who want the real deal are sure the aren't getting fakes
U can easily tell. Cos the wash on the fakes has higher contrast which I think looks better

@@xtraderpysquid8735 Balmain has different washes for the same style. That's what makes this comparison so weird, and most of that style these days don't even have the zippers on the back.
I agree with what you say. Although fakes are often well made, you should not be ripped off my paying for the real item.
Also all the hook and eye closures aren’t all stamped with “waiste fastener” on authentics. And the silver also wears over time and the hardware breaks on authentics I been wearing balmain since 2011 and most of all my jeans are “made in Italy” with the exception of my baby lambskin Moto trousers(bought those from balmain in Paris) those said made in turkey and my all white denim pair which was my most recent pair I bought a few yrs ago that says “made in Japan”(got those from Barney’s) I’ve only ever bought balmain denim from Barney’s and balmain flagship in Paris. Your specs with the waist logo label were on point. I wish they woulda kept it that way and not this new hard panel logo
One thing I've spotted often is the shape of the Biker Ribbing above the knees, with the Legit pairs having a sharper angle as they approach the inside of the thighs just above the knees, its more angular and clean; the panel closely resembles a triangle. Whereas the biker panels on the Reps are often larger and aren't as angular, sharp/sharp as the real ones; they also look more like a slightly warped rhombus as opposed to the triangle. Another note, the biker panels on Balmain jeans are always just above the knees when you wear them, whereas the biker panels on Reps often are lower while the 'knees' often hang lower than kneecap near the tops of your shins.
You used to be able to tell them apart simply by the biker rib stitching alone, Reps used to be wavy as sh*t and not uniform at all, whereas the Balmains were uniform and straight as an arrow. Now you gotta keep your eyes out for other giveaways seeing as the Knockoff market figured out how ti do good Pin-tuck stitching.

I don't know the answer for Balmain, but with some jeans the number of belt loops depends on the waist size.

I have been to a lot of clubs, malls public events. An I personally have never stopped an look at someone's jeans an said "wonder what kind of jeans are those". Most of the time no one can even tell what type of jeans anyone has on cause jeans don't have that much branding. But hey I wouldn't be buy reps if I couldn't afford the real thing.

This only shows u how to tell by all the tiny details like tags and shit but u can tell just by the look of them like the wash on the fakes looks less realistic and the rib panels are longer and the ribs ain't straight which is a dead giveaway the knee stitches are straighter on the fakes and they are 2d whereas on the real ones they are stitched in a way that the knee panel isn't flat it points out so that your knee fits in it better and so u can bend your leg better also shit like the pocket shape as well

Not weird at all. Big brands have factories in different places, every single item won't necessarily be made in the same place. In addition a brand can make changes to where certain items are being manufactured over time, it doesn't have to remain as one location forever. Look at Nike for example, when it first started their shoes came from Japan however they later expanded to other countries. It's a different brand but you get my point

Oh shit, I found my Balmains on a Chinese website for $30. I didn't even know what Balmains were until after - i just picked them because I liked the style. Mine have the silver zipper. They may be fake, but who cares? As long as I like the way they look at fit, with the added bonus that the tag says Balmain and that no one would be able to tell the difference by looking, who cares?
