- Ok ,here goes. This game is really good, but also really hard. At the second last stage of the game, I had to re-edit the video cause the exit is wellhidden and it took me time to find the damn staircase.
In any case, enjoy the hard earned complete run of Ninja Kid 2.

I LOVED this GAME! I played it forever, but...you know how things happen. Time passed, and whenever I tried to remember what the name of the game was, it slipped away. This is the first time in AGES I was able to remember what it was called!
UPL is the original developer of course, but back in the 1980s, UPL was struggling to put Ninja Kid on the Famicom, until Jaleco offered UPL a deal to port the first game to Famicom. Which UPL agreed to. But Jaleco decided to sort of steal this character's copyright, but not actually. So they made "sequels" called Ninja Jajamaru-kun (original Japanese name for Ninja Kid is Ninja-kun: Majono Bouken), and marketed it as Ninja-kun's little brother, since Ninja-kun is busy with training.
Ninja Jajamaru-kun became its own series, and now it has a Switch collection called Ninja Jajamaru-kun collection, and Ninja-kun/Ninja Kid faded into obscurity. I am glad that the arcade version of this game got a western release and people actually remembered it. I played the Famicom version of the first game when I was a kid, and just randomly remembered it today.

I remember playing this at the Westlake Bowl arcade in Daly City, CA, back in 1988.
I always liked that sunrise-to-sunset transition between levels
How old where you? In 1988 I was about 5 and played this at the arcades at a Chuckey Cheese in Little Rock Arkansa, but I had to stand on a stool because I was a shorty 😀
Then a year later in 1989 they took this game away and moved to another location and I was so mad because that’s how much I loved it.
Omg my dad used to travel all around California and I remember this machine well, in an arcade with weird red brick tiles I think? Gosh I must've been tiny at the time. I loved this game like crazy, even though it was idiotically hard.

One of the most difficult and irritating games I've ever known.
Back then, I couldn't figure out how to kill the Giant Skeleton (and he wasn't even FINAL BOSS)

The must have dipped their life savings clearings to beat this time at the time >>. But, that hidden passage (for an 1987 game,for arcade game),it was bloody tricky. But, i'm sure it was done overseas somewhere. Given the fact, there was no internet and probably (no strategy guides for back then,well for over here, maybe over there in Japan).
But beating the game without a continue, back then, if it was possible, I would have tip my hat to him/her/them

I played this non stop in the 80s. it brought back a lot of memories seeing that big skeleton with the sword. I never could find this game cause it was in an arcade with the name GT 104.
I have been trying to remember the name of this game for about 25 fucking years! FINALLY! I loved this game. My best friend as a kid had the arcade machine and I played it constantly.

I use to play this game when I was a kid (80's or so) and only one donut shop in California LA had it. I remember the name being different though and it was called Ninja Taro not Ninja Kid.
I remember this game being at Ferrell's Ice Cream parlour back in the day when Downey CA had one (prior to 1989) and I also remember seeing it at Tom's in Compton Ave and Slauson in South Central L.A.

I was looking for this, can't count the amount of coins I used on this when I was a kid. It was really hard and extremely unfair.

Con 1 ficha al día para poder Jugar NINJA KID, al final logré llegar a la final, sin trucos, sin atajos. como 15 personas a mi alrededor mirando como jugaba, de paso esperaban para jugar. jajajajja
Que emoción cuando jugabas en los arcades y había gente alrededor tuyo mirando cómo avanzabas , tiempos que no volverán 😞
oh.. vine aqui por que recordaba que llegaba a la 30 pero nunca supe la parte que habia que romper los muros, estaba horas en los arcades intentado saber como avanzar y me rendi, al menos me queda el consuelo que estuve muy cerca de terminarlo.

The main level theme reminds me a bit of Persona's Velvet Room theme
I remember this as one of the first games I saw in Arcade in PAKISTAN... It was very hard for me but there were other players who played it very expertly... Now it's on Switch arcade archives as well
Nice is on Switch,but you don't know how many quarters they spent to play the game "expertly".I guarantee you once they fought the skeleton boss for the first time, I bet they had a hard time like the rest of us :p
@@were1974 yes they did the experts did spend a lot of time figuring out how to fight the giant skeleton but once they knew how to it was piece of cakw for them... Most of them got defeated by it anyway...

Wow, that's cool! My mother's previous car had a dvd player that had a lot of unlicensed Nes games, i used to play them back in elementary school. (Until it stopped working.)
Llegue hasta la pantalla 16 con una ficha , y continuándola hasta la 31 , pero alcanzaba a matar al ultimo de la 31 pero no alcanzaba a subir ....ohhhhh estuve a punto ... eso si continuándola .... termine 37 vídeos de los 80 con una ficha pero este no solo hasta la 16 .... saludos
