    I can imagine your Dad being really proud. To see his children speaking together on the glory of God and blessing others with their knowledge! I feel like I am witnessing the beauty of God by watching. The joy is evident.

    This is so cool seeing someone you used to be hype to come home & watch after school as a kid speaking on his faith. Come on brothers & sister in Christ. Great pod!

    This podcast became part of my algorithm because of my love for Tia and Tamera. Who knew that you three would directly connect to what my son and I have been studying this week during our Bible devotional time. You also touched on what God has been CONSISTENTLY addressing in my own personal walk with him. Thank you. Thank you Thank you for dealing with this topic. I loved how Tahj spoke on what we allow in our ear/eye gates and its connection to our thought life and us ultimately manifesting the fruits of the spirit. As a Christian who has enjoyed reading all of my life, I am learning to make use of more wisdom regarding the text that I choose to read. I am a work in progress but this podcast has given me even more insight. Thanks again.

    I’m so blessed by you guys! Philippians 4:8 has been one of my life verses for the longest because of my thought life and my tendency to overthink. It’s a daily struggle for me… but I trust that God will continue to renew me!

    I have this sticky note that I keep from a few years ago on something the Lord was teaching me about thoughts and feelings, it says “feelings are the evidence of a thought. Recognize your feelings, shift your thinking, shift your feelings. It starts with you.” It’s specifically a reminder that we can address the negative emotions we entangle ourselves with by pinpointing feeling and examining our thoughts; which help us move into taking thoughts captive and thinking upon whatever is good/lovely. Then we can draw into making them obedient to Christ. I appreciate this conversation!

    Another great episode! Your parents have done a good job raising you all with the fear of the Lord and I admire your choice to continue to follow Jesus. The discussion on obedience - and Taviors take on it being his part and the rest is taken care of. I appreciate that perspective. Keep the conversation going guys. “I’ll carry you to a place that is safe” 😭😭😭 that line blessed me!!!
    This also reminds me of how the Israelites thought of themselves like grasshoppers when possessing the land God had promised them:
    In the book of Numbers, chapter 13, the Israelites were exploring the land of Canaan, which God had promised to give them. When they saw the fortified cities and the people living there, they became fearful. In Numbers 13:33, it says, "We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them." This verse reflects how the Israelites felt small and insignificant compared to the challenges they faced.b

    Eventhough it was quick I love the talk on not allowing negative talk around you. I'm struggling with this right now in the sense that friends speak negatively on themselves or identify deeply with excuses, and I'll honor those feeling. But the moment I challenge them to think better of themselves or reframe their thoughts or words, I'm prude or I'm too different. Idk how to explain it. I definitely take a beat and validate their emotions and move with grace. This just encouraged me to keep trying because it's really not about me! I just need to choose obedience and ask God to fill the gaps!

    • @taviordontaemowry
      @taviordontaemowry  4 місяці тому +3

      I get that! I experience that too! I've learned to either "hold them or fold them". Hold them as in keep playing, like in cards i still have them in my hand, meaning I will suggest that those thoughts/words aren't beneficial or life giving. Or, fold them, meaning, let it ride and don't even intervene. Of course this is all Spirit led. I do believe that how something is said is almost more important than what it is actually said to a certain degree. That saying "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar" rings true. I understand how their challenging could sometimes feel hard but I'd imagine the reason for the push back is because something is being pricked
