- How to paint loose watercolor lemons in Procreate. In this tutorial, teach you how to paint some lemons and how to combine them together into a larger collection.
😳 Stuff I used for this video
The watercolor effect is mostly coming from a watercolor paper texture and the brushes from the watercolor kit. You can use your own texture and brushes, but I sell the exact things I used in this video on my Etsy store. This is how I support the channel. If you aren't able to afford these products, you can message me on the Etsy store and I will help you out 🙏
Here is what I used in this tutorial:
- *Amazing Watercolor for Procreate kit (Etsy)
- *St Petersburg paper texture (Etsy,)
- little pine (This comes with procreate in the 'drawing' brush category)
Here are the links to my Etsy store where I sell these brushes and textures:

(I'm very active on Etsy and you can contact me there if you need anything or if you want a refund.)
If you cannot afford the brushes/texture, please message me on Etsy and I can help you. I love to teach art and help traditional artists try out digital painting. The income from the Etsy store makes my channel financially sustainable. UA-cam ads do not really pay on this type of content so I have to try to find other ways. Becuase of the Etsy store, I can also make my videos as short and to the point as possible.
Thanks to your support, I have finished building my recording booth and I have also studied more about audio and voiceovers so I can provide the highest quality content ❤️

Thanks a lot ! here is 34 degree outside I enjoy painting lemon at home, I like you and another artist called James the most !
Thank you for doing lemons. I'm 54 learning Procreate and my first real painting I did with an instructor was at the age of 10 and it was watercolor lemons. It's come full circle and I'll have to print this one out and put them side by side. The one from 1980 might look better! lol
Love your tutorials, textured paper and brush kits. Buying them made so much difference!
Wow, I can't believe I saw the video you uploaded an hour ago. You are my favorite illustrator. Thank you always
You make painting so easy. Thank you.
Calvin, thank you so much for your video on how to create this gorgeous illustration! 🍋
This is great! I really enjoyed the shading trick. I always learn something new with your tutorials.
FANTASTIC video, Calvin. Thank you so much.
🤩🤩🤩 thank you so much! You've been with me since the beginning, I really appreciate it🥹
Amazing tutorial! Thank you so much!
Calvin you’re so amazing ! This is so wonderful I am so excited to make this Thank you so much 😊
awesome video! Could you make a video explaining the differences between your different watercolour backgrounds?
Thank you so much! I had a video that covered this, but it's three years old now and way out of date. Thanks for the reminder! I need to redo it 🙏
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 Thanks! That would be amazing :)
Simple techniques to make an interesting watercolor. Enjoyed seeing you use the blotchy wash brush so I went and played with that some more and noticed that it offers some interesting edges when you hold it down longer. Thanks for another great tutorial!
So fresh !! Thanks Calvin
Thank you for a great explanation of your technique, and for working at a pace that I can follow!
I can’t wait to try this :) Thank you
Fun!I I used the diluted watercolor splatter brush to add a bit more texture to the whole lemons. Thx Calvin😊
That's a great idea! I think I spent three days just painting lemons, I was losing my mind 🤣 I feel like when it comes to fruit you can't capture the texture at all. You just need to experiment and figure out a way to capture the vibe of it.
On what category of brushes is the blender and abstract brush.
Thanks for sharing! I really enjoy your tutorial :) I'm wondering which device you are using for capture the video?
Hi! I am using a fujifilm xt4 camera with a 55mm lens. The lighting is totally controlled and I shoot in 10 bit FLOG 4k 25fps. To prevent miore from the iPad screen pixels, I use a matte screen protector to soften it ☺️
I have purchased and am using the brush set that you sell, and I am quite happy with it. However, when using the Abstract Round brush, no matter how much I practice adjusting the pressure, I can't seem to get the same effect as you do in your videos, where the brush starts thin and widens as you press down. It makes me question whether it's the same brush. In the recent video where you drew a peach, I tried to follow along while drawing the leaves, but I couldn't get it to look natural in one stroke. I want to know if there is an issue with the brush I purchased.
hi! that doesn't sound like it's working right 😦 what kind of Apple Pencil do you have? You can send a screenshot on etsy and I might be able to see some more clues from that. I'm so sorry about this issue 😥 it will be easier to solve this through the Etsy chat because we can chat back-and-forth. It's harder to keep track of comments on UA-cam but I really wanna solve this problem 🙏
