I don’t think panic is necessary, however I don’t like shady downplaying it. Yea it’s just “a loss” for the record books, but it’s a bad loss. A definitive loss. The cowboys got to the 6 yard line, and then they had a false start, and delay of game penalty. Before that, Dak's toe was out of bounce... The Chief's WR dropped a perfect TD strike that would've likely won the game. The bills in OT, Josh Allen missed a wide open receiver, or the receiver ran the wrong route... that play would've been a walk-off win. I didn't watch the commanders' game, but they were down in that one, too. Were they let off the hook there, too? My point is that while I give the Eagles credit for winning, they seem to rack up wins by other teams making mistakes that have nothing to do with how good the Eagles are.

As an eagles fan, let me first start by saying that the OP @BobbyJr makes valid points, and I have no problem admitting that the niners are def the best team in the NFL right now. That said, I’d like to share my perspective as a diehard (but realistic) Eagles fan, to provide some important context that shouldn’t be left out/ignored. @rodgesniperwolf does bring up a great point that 8 of the 10 wins are by single digits, which definitely stand out. But it’s important to highlight that in 3 of those 8 games, the opposing teams scored very late in the 4Q to make it a 1 score game; week 1 the pats scored with ~3 min left, week 2 the Vikings scored with 1:14 left in the 4Q, week 8 commanders scored with 1:08 left in 4Q. Also, in week 9 vs the cowboys OP mentioned the cowboys penalties on that last drive, but let’s not ignore the 3 huge penalties (all valid btw) on the birds that advanced the ball a total of 56+ yards down the field to put the cowboys in that position to almost win when that drive started on Dallas’ 16 yard line with only 46 seconds on the clock. Chiefs game, yeah, we were def lucky that MVS didn’t haul in that catch which most def would have been a tuddy, but there still was ~1:40 left for the birds to have a chance especially with their 3 timeouts still in play. Bills game, again for sure Josh Allen missed Gabe Davis on what would have been the game winner in OT and never letting the birds even possess the ball in OT, But let’s not discredit the fact that the birds marched down to score a tuddy to win. Then ofc this past week vs the niners who absolutely crushed my squad. Only point I’ll make is that the birds were coming off two huge games (1 that went nearly the distance in OT) and were playing their 3rd game in 13 days vs a niners squad coming off 10 days rest and with a vengeance/vendetta of not having a fair fight in last year’s NFC championship game. Okay, I’ve clearly rambled on for far too long lol and have no idea if anyone will even read this. Hope this context was at least a little helpful to provide perspective in addressing OPs initial comment/question.
The Cowboys loss to SF wasn't the same, Remember they were running that stupid check down offense for the first 5 weeks and that SF beatdown caused Mccarthy to change the offense more back to what it was last year and he's improved on it. So yeah they lost that game 42-10 but they are a different team since then as the offense is totally different and way better. Also remember SF scored 3 TD's off drives that started with short field after int's. The Eagles didn't turn it over and their defense allowed all 42.
Since week 5 they’ve played one good team since then and it’s a team they lost to. Maybe two if you count the hawks and that’s a one possession shootout. Course they look different it’s been an easy schedule

Since week 5 the Cowboys only lost 1 game by 1 yard and quite a few bad calls that went against them. Also the Cowboys have the number one offense in the league since week 5 and it's not particularly close. That offense Mccarthy tried to run was scrapped after the bye and now they are running the offense similar to what it was last season with Mccarthy's touch on it

I'm a 9er fan that lives in Minnesota, so i see quite a bit vikings games. And currently this eagles team reminds me a LOT of the vikings team of last year. Biggest reason is that their defense has fallen off a bit and so the eagles offense is forced to be on the field more. And have had to come from behind in multiple games. You Dallas fans keep mentioning Dak sitting out. So he was fresher for those losses? What you also fail to mention is he's racking those numbers up against tomato cans. I don't understand how so many smart football people/former players talk about the 49ers-Eagles game last season and always mention how the Eagles offense dominated the 49ers defense *without* mentioning the fact that the 49ers defense got worn down for constantly being on the field after their offense was going 3-and-out for most of the game because they didn't have a QB. The Eagles didn't put up big passing numbers in that game. And that's because they just leaned on the 49ers in the run game because that's what good teams do to worn-down defenses. You see the 49ers do that to teams often in the 4th quarter when they've beat the other team down.
You can do the excuse battle for every single game though. Eagles played 3 teams in a row with a rest advantage. Played Miami, Dallas, KC, Buf, Niners in a row. No TE, no starting LBs. And when people tune into teams they don’t follow like Seahawks or Cleveland they have issues like that too every team does. I’m sure Niners will loose someone pivotal down the stretch like they do each year and there will yet again be no excuses
@codyjackson245 my point was around how they used last season's game as a precursor (or referendum) on this year's game *without* providing relevant context. Of course, injuries will happen. But I never heard any of them talking about how the defense suffered in that game by constantly having to run back on the field because the offense couldn't do anything. That's the context I expect smart football people and former players to bring up. But, to my recollection, I haven't heard anyone mention that. All I heard was that the Eagles offensive line pushed around the 49ers D-line all game. But they fail to mention Warner and Bosa getting hurt in the game *while* them also being on the field so much. The 49ers had the #1 defense last year, they just didn't become trash one game for no reason.
Just like the 49ers having a rest advantage was a key going into that game, along with several other statistics that showed the Eagles were due for a letdown. It's football. As a fan, watching people on national shows, I expect them to provide that context. And sometimes all they do is give us the same old surface-level stuff. That's all I'm saying.

As an eagles fan, let me first start by saying that the OP @BobbyJr makes valid points, and I have no problem admitting that the niners are def the best team in the NFL right now.
That said, I’d like to share my perspective as a diehard (but realistic) Eagles fan, to provide some important context that shouldn’t be left out/ignored.
@rodgesniperwolf does bring up a great point that 8 of the 10 wins are by single digits, which definitely stand out. But it’s important to highlight that in 3 of those 8 games, the opposing teams scored very late in the 4Q to make it a 1 score game; week 1 the pats scored with ~3 min left, week 2 the Vikings scored with 1:14 left in the 4Q, week 8 commanders scored with 1:08 left in 4Q.
Also, in week 9 vs the cowboys OP mentioned the cowboys penalties on that last drive, but let’s not ignore the 3 huge penalties (all valid btw) on the birds that advanced the ball a total of 56+ yards down the field to put the cowboys in that position to almost win when that drive started on Dallas’ 16 yard line with only 46 seconds on the clock.
Chiefs game, yeah, we were def lucky that MVS didn’t haul in that catch which most def would have been a tuddy, but there still was ~1:40 left for the birds to have a chance especially with their 3 timeouts still in play.
Bills game, again for sure Josh Allen missed Gabe Davis on what would have been the game winner in OT and never letting the birds even possess the ball in OT, But let’s not discredit the fact that the birds marched down to score a tuddy to win.
Then ofc this past week vs the niners who absolutely crushed my squad. Only point I’ll make is that the birds were coming off two huge games (1 that went nearly the distance in OT) and were playing their 3rd game in 13 days vs a niners squad coming off 10 days rest and with a vengeance/vendetta of not having a fair fight in last year’s NFC championship game.
Okay, I’ve clearly rambled on for far too long lol and have no idea if anyone will even read this. Hope this context was at least a little helpful to provide perspective in addressing OPs initial comment/question.
The Cowboys loss to SF wasn't the same, Remember they were running that stupid check down offense for the first 5 weeks and that SF beatdown caused Mccarthy to change the offense more back to what it was last year and he's improved on it. So yeah they lost that game 42-10 but they are a different team since then as the offense is totally different and way better. Also remember SF scored 3 TD's off drives that started with short field after int's. The Eagles didn't turn it over and their defense allowed all 42.
Since week 5 they’ve played one good team since then and it’s a team they lost to. Maybe two if you count the hawks and that’s a one possession shootout. Course they look different it’s been an easy schedule

Since week 5 the Cowboys only lost 1 game by 1 yard and quite a few bad calls that went against them. Also the Cowboys have the number one offense in the league since week 5 and it's not particularly close. That offense Mccarthy tried to run was scrapped after the bye and now they are running the offense similar to what it was last season with Mccarthy's touch on it

The Cowboys who played the Eagles close in Philadelphia NOW play the Eagles in Dallas with the "bluprint" on how to beat the Eagles AND the Cowboys have won 14 straight at home and the Cowboys (particularly Dak) are playing their best ball right now.

No excuses here from a Philly fan. IMO the fault is on coaching and scheme. We have been winning solely because of player talent alone so when we match up against a team with more/equal talent, coaching matters and the 9ers completely exposed our weaknesses. It also doesn’t help that the Birds played the toughest 3 games in their schedule in a matter of 13 days. Not time to panic… yet.

I don’t follow the Vikings too closely but I don’t recall analyst, pundits, etc. saying that they weren’t playing well last season, in spite of their early exit. I’ve been watching football for a long time and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team win 10/11 and not be considered playing well.
I'm a 9er fan that lives in Minnesota, so i see quite a bit vikings games. And currently this eagles team reminds me a LOT of the vikings team of last year. Biggest reason is that their defense has fallen off a bit and so the eagles offense is forced to be on the field more. And have had to come from behind in multiple games. That was literally the vikings last year

Purdy is ahead of him in rating in several stats and did it against better competition. More importantly, Purdy is leading in the stats that correlate with who voters have picked for MVP.

Good enough to have the #1 is great but when you are playing the best teams in the nfc in the playoffs there’s no room for error. Now losing the home field advantage in a smack down should be concerning. Almost lost to the bills and cowboys. I don't understand how so many smart football people/former players talk about the 49ers-Eagles game last season and always mention how the Eagles offense dominated the 49ers defense *without* mentioning the fact that the 49ers defense got worn down for constantly being on the field after their offense was going 3-and-out for most of the game because they didn't have a QB. The Eagles didn't put up big passing numbers in that game. And that's because they just leaned on the 49ers in the run game because that's what good teams do to worn-down defenses. You see the 49ers do that to teams often in the 4th quarter when they've beat the other team down.
You can do the excuse battle for every single game though. Eagles played 3 teams in a row with a rest advantage. Played Miami, Dallas, KC, Buf, Niners in a row. No TE, no starting LBs. And when people tune into teams they don’t follow like Seahawks or Cleveland they have issues like that too every team does. I’m sure Niners will loose someone pivotal down the stretch like they do each year and there will yet again be no excuses
@codyjackson245 my point was around how they used last season's game as a precursor (or referendum) on this year's game *without* providing relevant context. Of course, injuries will happen. But I never heard any of them talking about how the defense suffered in that game by constantly having to run back on the field because the offense couldn't do anything. That's the context I expect smart football people and former players to bring up. But, to my recollection, I haven't heard anyone mention that. All I heard was that the Eagles offensive line pushed around the 49ers D-line all game. But they fail to mention Warner and Bosa getting hurt in the game *while* them also being on the field so much. The 49ers had the #1 defense last year, they just didn't become trash one game for no reason.
Just like the 49ers having a rest advantage was a key going into that game, along with several other statistics that showed the Eagles were due for a letdown. It's football. As a fan, watching people on national shows, I expect them to provide that context. And sometimes all they do is give us the same old surface-level stuff. That's all I'm saying.
