Nope i think the game is at it's best now. I have 1200 hours and the upkeep is my favorite thing in game i really didn't like the idea of building huge structures without limitations

+Popinmo That is a concern of mine as well. So this makes me wonder, what could be done to have high level tier players focus more on the Chinook event rather than the regular airdrop? The Chinook event could drop off scientists and give better loot. This may cause high level tier players to save their equipment or materials for the Chinook event, rather than go after every single air drop.
+Sir Sneaky Beaky - I just got back into play Rust vanilla after a break, and I not really since that much so far. I guess when I think of a clan camping a monument, I can't help but think of the Rust Legacy days when people would build sniper towers right up to the edge of airfield (which you could get much closer to, and even build inside it). However, with the new Bradley event coming up (where it patrols roads), this may slow down the pace of people camping next to monuments. This is because Bradley will automatically target buildings that are built close to monuments and roads.

It can only be spawned by an admin, but anyone can pilot it.

I want a bunch if driveable crap. Maybe not like a car or truck or helicopter. But a back loader or fork lift or go cart maybe a small motor powered hand glider. Nothing too huge, fast, or super super useful. Just interesting and helpful when used for the right purpose
For every good thing FacePunch adds to Rust (like the Chinook), they just have to go and mess up something else (the monuments this time). Unbelievable.
I feel like this game is going in the wrong direction. It isn’t even so much survival anymore, but an open world fps with building. I miss legacy..

OMG
A new Scavenger AI that has low tier items and random components, possible pre-built bases, that will hunt down any player in a certain range. Reasoning? Just like bots on CS:GO, it'll help new players to learn PvP to some degree. Also over-time gear quality scaling for airdrops and less grinding by adding more basic resources throughout the map. Increase map size to add new islands (Possibly 2 other islands, one could have the scientists and a really high tech feel to it and another could be like the old Rust full of zombies or mutants.), add boats and marine content. But before all of this, please finish everything else on the table.
Silent&Unclear player aggression in rust is plenty to teach nova how to PvP. Last thing we need is Npc survivors
True but that player aggression makes newbies legit uninstall after 3 tries. I started at an official server after learning some basics on modded servers, and I didn't know I had to be super aggressive and mega cautious about any leaf that moved that shouldn't have. On a strictly PvE server this AI would be priceless to let newcomers learn the basics of PvP, raiding/defending, it mentally prepares people that Rust is a merciless game that NEEDS persistence, and if people only want to have fun with friends? They can stay in their PvE servers.

Someone should make a way to make great looking games run very smoothly. Maybe the way things render in. Maybe making the things in the world not physical objects, but like terrain or pictures until players get close enough to them.

Instead of the camera zooming into your character it should hit you in the face next time.
You know what this means, gyrocopters are gonna be a thing in rust.
Think about it
Lots of gears lots of metal and high quality, lots of metal blades and coming up engines.
Be a level 3 crafting and has to be found only by blueprint, very rare, unless it has it's own work bench (vehicle bench or what ever it shall be called if it exist)
Main fuel is obviously low grade fuel, unless high grade fuel be a thing... we shall never know.

Shadow, a suggestion for a bigger vid, history of rust from the concept to leaving early access? Very big project, I understand, but maybe would be a lot of fun going over all the major changes made (like crafting, blueprints, ai, etc.)?

SHADOWFRAX hey shadow, i see allot of veteran players whining about every new update that comes out but when ever i ask them what they would add or fix into the game i dont get a response, u being a veteran player i thought maybe i could ask u?
I've seen a lot of responses from Shadow, Vert, Winter and others that are vet youtube rust players on what might balance gameplay better.
Some of the recent changes in rust has addressed and fixed many of those issues.
What I'd like to see, is some things that Oxide mods seem to do, be official, but I am sure not everyone would like that.
Thats the problem, we are all individuals with ideas and what one of us might like, might end up ticking off the next group of players if it became official.
I think, for my play style of being the 'helpful' Rust player, is pretty much dead on vanillia servers.
I'd need to grind scrap too much to get recipes to clothe and feed and arm new arrivals like I used to.
But if they changed to accommodate me, it might really make some hardcore player upset.
My thoughts are, if you can find one thing that seemingly will make a difference if it is changed, for the better, contact the Devs or make your voice heard. And If it just seems unbalanced to your playstyle, find a modded server or host your own, that has the features adjusted like you'd like them.

A Medieval and Magic version of Rust would be great.
Imagine, that a lot of the Rust player made assets for clothing and tools could probably port over as workshop skins. They'd have to be gone over no modern stuff, but picks axes, swords etc.
I spent a bit over half a year not even playing rust, because of too many changes. But this last month I've played a bit on modded servers and had a bit of fun again.

Does anyone know of the new commands for scientists? With recent server updates this week the squad_disable commands do nothing anymore. Any help would be appreciated. Nothing online says anything about new commands for them
Seems like a lot of development time programming controls and making vehicles mountable by players if all they're aiming for is a scripted event... Just sayin'.

Kinda weird they made something in testing hard to get tho.. Even Dayz upped the spawn rate on new items so they could be tested. Not many people are gonna be able to give feedback on it unless they play on a modded server or have an admin friend
Takes a few shots close range to kill a pig... Haven't had a chance to hit a person with it yet . they are so rare you don't really want to lose it . And it becomes zerg bate on use.

They need to fix the hacker problem I’ve been playing rust for almost 4 years now and the hackers are ruining the game for me. I know you guys have a lot on your plate but it needs to be dealt with.

I can just see a zerg raiding a zerg flying towards the base with tons of helis and dropping off onto the base, damn that would look awesome on a raidcam.
That chainsaw would be completely useless in real life, having all the teeth on the one side of the chain would cause it not to cut straight and the bar and chain would likely jam only an inch or two into the wood
I don't even play Rust but your videos have such hig production quality and are so funny that I watch them anyway!
