how about an episode featuring all the AWESOME bass teachers on UA-cam, thanks to whom many of us got the chops! Mark Smith from Talking Bass, Josh from BassBuzz, Luke from Become A Bassist, Bass Lady... You can throw Adam Neely there too, he's still a bassist and a teacher ;) Why not Rick Beato, too - he's a teacher and originally a bass player, an upright one i think
Knew I recognized the name from somewhere. Man has a youtube channel, where he posts quite frequently. He also worked with Toto, Era and Phil Collins. I'm not fond of guitar music to the point of following channels so avidly, but that man totally deserves it.
Thanks for including people playing with the pick. I played for 30 years with my fingers; started playing with a pick 2 years ago. I love it. You can get a totally a different ghost note - its loud!- you become a drummer!
Bobby Vega and Tony Franklin do some great stuff with a pick, not to mention countless amazing rock bassists out there. Only small minded people claim that real bass players play with fingers.

These are by two FAVORITES: 2:38 Ryan Martine 3:26 Kai Eckhart they are both using different right hand techniques getting a unique sound. I have never seen what Ryan Martine does there. It's a four finger simultaneous right hand tapping technique that gets a thicker sound than individuated tapping. Doesn't sound like tapping but is a form of it. Kai Eckhart gets this beautiful, sounds like 4 finger fingerstyle and playing very close to the bridge so this one pinging metallic sounding, maybe harmonic is mixing into the pattern beautifully.
So good there is a Bass Pastorius in the world + there can only be one Bass Face!! + Rhonda layin´it down DEEP... love to see them all. Danke dafür Gregor ;-)
Interesting to see how many established players play a lot simpler than the usual chops fest :-) Is that the right clip for Helmut though as the audio and video seem unrelated?
Ehm... is that an advertisiment of „Warwick” basses or what...? Abraham Laboriel and Leeland Sklar haven’t dissapointed - also this Frank, his bassface tho.
Hi Guys , i remember Machi Rufino , the bes bass in Argentina , check 3 albums progresive rock argentina, Invisible group , tree albums , "INVISIBLE , "; "Durazno Sangrando " ,and "EL jardin de los presentes " with Luis Alberto Spinetta ( guitar vocal) , and Pomo Lorenzo (drums). Incredible Group 73 /77. Check !!
Frank Itt i thought was the best of all and im not a big fan of slap style but when itsnplayed like that, i like it. Lee Sklar ( who is actually the one i wanted to hear!) needs to adjust his string hieght or just play a shaker!

kinga glyk - watch her "play with me if you want #2 slap time" video. it's very cool. she is a very cool bassist.
Frank Itt has great taste in basses, those BB’s are incredible
Lol the faces he makes though looked like he was taking a shit the whole time
He sounded like he was the bassist for Bullmark (Interstate '76 OST) but not.
Leland “You shall not bass” Sklar, love it. What a great player everyone is
True !!! LMAO

That was fun. I enjoyed Felix who's a monster, Gary Willis and Ryan Marinie's human octaver...
Much respect to the players in the video but Ryan Martini is a beast.
That's a pretty cool tapping technique that he is using.
Steve’s strings only get wider apart over time it’s crazzzy. This doodle a freak of natur!
Happy to see Rex Brown!
I've loved Bakithi Kumalo from the first time I heard "You Can Call Me Al." But I had no idea that he was also the BIGGEST MAN IN THE WORLD!
hahahaha
Lol
underrated comment
Steve Bailey is just superb, as usual.
Great example of it's not the number of notes but where and how you place them. Masterfully done.
Yeah! always amazed me
Man, really wish I could listen to all of the Steve Bailey video. Great run and feel.
Man, this vid feels so nostalgic. Didn't realize how many years I've been following this channel and learning from it.

Miss. Roxx and Kai won this one for sure XD honorable mention to Bakithi for playing the toy. Love Steve too.
Some of these really demonstrate the awesome sound of the Warwick bass
