    I have got totally addicted to Kogan, somehow nowadays I seldom feel like listening to anyone else. I used to be a huge Oistrakh, Szeryng and Heifetz fan, but I think I now enjoy Kogan's performances enjoy even more. His tone is outstanding and his technique is beyond perfection and he is exquisitely lyrical. Thanks to youtube users for making such gems of recordings available to the public.

    It's hard to read the comments when they're littered with such hypocrisy, ignorance, and malice. Kogan was a genius of the violin. Way above everybody else...? No. As Janos Starker (R.I.P.) would say, at this level they cannot be ranked. This Heifetz followers/Kogan admirers dichotomy I see sometimes is disgusting...as if people who admire Heifetz are all rabid, mindless "fanboys". There was a reason even Kogan admired him.

    As usual, Kogan has the amazing ability to allow me to hear the *entire* piece. I am never so seduced by his dazzling technique that I can't hear the overarching structure, as I sometimes am even with Heifetz. I don't know why this is, or if he has that effect on anyone else. But Kogan has unlocked pieces for me that no one else was able to. I remember the first time I heard him play the Sauret cadenza in the Paganini violin concerto. I'd heard others play it. But I did not really grasp the full piece, hear it as a coherent whole, in a way that was completely 3-dimensional, until I heard Kogan. I'm struggling to describe this phenomenon but it's there, & no other violinist living or dead has had this effect on me. I enjoy others & am a die-hard Heifetz fan. But Kogan is....Kogan.

    • @operafatale
      @operafatale  3 роки тому +3

      Agree with you! He was a perfectionist and he had a very special 3D sound ideal that he was able to achieve through constant tweaking of fingerings and bowings. Of course he had also a great understanding of the structure of the pieces. My mother was his student and later assistant and I learned a lot about it. Yes, Kogan was unique in that sense.

    • @deenibeeniable
      @deenibeeniable 3 роки тому +2

      @@operafatale I think by 3D I mean something more figurative. With a lot of violinists I get very involved in "the moment" especially very difficult passages - and it's like that saying "can't see the forest for the trees," the larger context kind of disappears. With Kogan I'm always conscious of "the forest" as well as "the trees" - his particular mark of greatness. That Sauret cadenza - before I heard his performance I barely experienced it as music. It was just a tight-rope act by various violinists. Kogan brought the music back. For me.

      Onilo Ramos Ok he estudiado la música clásica un poco más de 35 años, y aun sigo estudiando, nunca se termina, es parte de ti cuando realmente te mueve la sensibilidad y descubres que puedes hacerlo; a través del estudio concienzudo y reflexivo. Comencé a los 12 años. Estos grandes interpretes como Kogan, Accardo, y otros vinieron nos legaron su enseñanza y se fueron; pero puedes lograrlo si te lo propones: desarrolla lo más que puedas las digitaciones en las 10 posiciones básicas y en doble cuerdas con terceras, cuartas, séptimas y octavas y adelante.!!!!

      Ese no es el Cannone , el cannone tiene una nuez hecha de hueso ( la que siempre ha estado ahí desde que lo tenía paganini ),
      y la de este violín es de ébano , además el barniz del cannone tiene más golpes y es mucho más oscuro entre medio de las F. Imposible que ese sea el cannone , quizás es un Guarneri también por que tiene forma de Guarneri pero no es el cannone ni por cerca .

    První skladba je ovšem první ze Sonatin pro housle a kytaru op.č. 2. Jedno z nejkrásnějších děl Niccolo Paganiniho. Napsal celkem 12 sonatin, jedna krásnější, než druhá. Měl by být opraven popis. Provedení zde je úchvatné. V ČR vyšly snad poprvé na desce někdy v r. 1957 - v provedení housle Karel Šroubek a kytara Zdeněk Pitter. Toto je další úchvatná nahrávka. V této skladbě jsou místa, kde je doprovod na kytaru stejně náročný, jako houslový part. Oba výkony zaslouží hluboké uznání. Děkuji za nahrávku.
    First part is Sonatina for violin and guitar op. 2. Paganini wrote 12 sonatinas one more beautiful than others. This si the best recording. In Czech Republic was cover at first in 1657 with violinist Karel Šroubek and guitar player Zdeněk Pitter. The guitar part was the same difficult as violin part in some places.
