Nice to see another traction enthusiast on UA-cam. I took a body from an old Tyco Brill trolley iike the one in your video and turned it into the Neighborhood Trolley from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. It was a very easy customization.
I found a card model of a Tatra T3 by CKD on the web. It was based on the American PCC design, so I modified the card model so that it would fit on a chassis from a Bachmann PCC car. It fits and works perfectly.
When we vacationed on Galveston Island, we rode one of the repaired streetcars. It is a modern design based on a two truck Brill trolley, but this particular model uses a diesel genset to power the traction motors through a conventional control setup instead of overhead wires and a trolley pole. I took pictures of all four sides, and made a body using a simple Brill trolley card model I found online. I then placed it on the chassis for a Bachmann Brill trolley. Another customization that came out just right.
Like you said, it is fun, and not at all diificult, even if you are just repainting it to match a streetcar line not available locally. We have a repainted Brill trolley on the Cleburne Railroad Museum layout that has been repainted to match the streetcars that ran in Cleburne, and a more extensive rebuild of an interurban to match the ones that ran from Fort Worth to Cleburne.
I have some card models of streetcars that I have not yet motorized, including a Soviet UKVZ Model 71-623 Tramcar, and a Corgi double deck tram car. You can see them all in a video on my channel titled "Happy Birthday Mr. Rogers." Thanks for sharing.

Great comment and really shows the potential and diversity. That little Tyco Brill has so much potential for kitbashing sorry I did not collect more when I lived in the USA!

@@ArcadiaJunctionHobbies they do show up on eBay every now and then, if you don't mind paying the shipping across the pond.
If one does take the body off, don't throw it away; they make good roadside diners. :) That is what my Neighborhood Trolley shell was on my first layout back in the 1970s.
Tandy (aka Radio Shack) had their corporate headquarters in Fort Worth. The M&H department store that was in their headquarters before that had a private trolley system that took shoppers from the parking lot to the department store, later it was Tandy workers. The subway is gone now, but one of the streetcars is preserved in the lobby. I need to take pictures of it and model one; biggest challenge is that they were originally from the Washington DC system and had rear doors; the regular PCC trolley Bachmann models does not.

Like you said, so many possibilities.

I like trams, I've got a Bachmann PCC with the European type pantograph, as fitted to the Washington cars that were operated in Sarajevo.
I've also been thinking about using the truck from one of those Lima toy-range diesel shunters to either make a scratch built tram, or to power an Atlas one in H0 scale.

A good tip for painting windows to hide motors and similar is to use a very dark grey and then three coats of high gloss varnish. I use Railmatch number 310, BR Roof Dark Blue/Grey as its slightly blue tone is more muted than gloss black.

Good tip thanks. I went with the gloss black as I have a Piko railcar from the 80s with gloss black plastic window that looks good. But I am definitely trying your tip next time.

I have several interurban cars etc that live on a small mini-radius circle at one end of my layout (It actually lifts off and is wired to be its own tiny layout, which I take to a local art fair)
What I would give if Kato made an HO version of that 11-109/110 mechanism! Though the Bachmann J.G. Brill car has served as a good chassis donor for a whitemetal kit body.

I'm surprised Kato hasn't produced that myself in HO.

@RockyRailroadProductions_B0SS that is a great idea. We have a straight street track on the Cleburne Museum layout for our streetcar; but I need to wire it for power and add the hardware on each end that detects when it reaches the end and reverses the power to send it in the other direction.

    Very nice.
    Especially the Tyco model.
You're right, they do look great.
I'll have to see if I can find one.
Had to laugh... guess who has been spray painting again? 🤔😅
    Have a great weekend
    Happy Modelling

They look great 👍 Indeed, trams have a lot of potential. Atlas has made several stand models of different trams (for instance Blackpool trams). These might be motorised with Mehano or Lima, I think.

I have thought of motorizing my Corgi tram, I have found directions online. But it involves a lot of cutting and filing as well as tracking down the motor block, so I haven't done it yet.

I wanted to get into ''Traction'' modeling but unfortunately the things that are required were hard to come by, Then in '92 Athearn reintroduced the RDC which i have a full fleet now plus more second hand Athearn RDC'S I buy at train shows, I like them because you don't have to bother with overhead wires which is hassle to work with.

Another (way more expensive) option in this category is the 'Kittel' by Trix, which is a very small steam railcar.
A Uerdinger rail bus would also work, although they are a bit larger compared to real tram locomotives

I have a few small rail buses and rail cars. I like all kinds of self propelled rail vehicles

@@ArcadiaJunctionHobbies try to get hold of the Klv12 or Klv20 (Volkswagen T1) then, that is about as small as you can get in H0
