The one thing that Starmer has not done is to cut the massive number of Civil Servants which should be cut by at least 30%, this act alone would negate the need for any of their tax increases and the need to stop winter payment to pensioners. However, he won’t, he is to scared of the Unions, he also knows that most Civil Servants vote Labour, never looks a gift horse in the face. The United States has six times our population and 100 elected Senators, we have over 800 Peers in the House of Lords, all unelected and all supping from the public purse, why? We have so many committees and boards on this and that, all taking money from us, yet giving very little in return, why? Most of our Universities are no more than glorified Collages, turning out Graduates who are not needed or wanted, their diplomas are good only for loo paper, why? We need Doctors, Engineer's, Scientists, not a load of young people leaving University with a degree in Social Studies, Hairdressing or Gold club management.
