  • In this video I show how the pinsetter detects a fault condition and shuts down. I then clear the fault and show how the pinsetter handles an off spot pin. For more information on purchasing a lane please visit: minibowler.com/

    I've only just found your amazing channel. Watched most videos over the last few hours. YOU ARE re-inventing the wheel! With huge improvements!! Brilliant!!!!!!

    Hey Phil! I’m a big fan of your work. Unfortunately I live in a very small house and I don’t have the space nor funds to order a lane but when the day comes that I do, I’m definitely getting one of these. I hope that you sell many of these and you become very successful! This lane is so much better than string lanes, and while those can be fun, they aren’t just the same as free fall pins. Keep up the good work!! 👍👍🎳

      Thanks Proto. We'll be here when you're ready to order in the future. Hoping you someday you end up in that house big enough to fit a mini-lane in. If you ever make it to this area, let me know. Would love to show you the lane in person.

      I like the ball bowler pins you have! Are they for sale and if so, can you order them by themselves?

      @@protobuster12 We are currently switching manufacturers. The virus has caused some issues in that process. Once we get more pins in stock (hopefully soon), I will post on youtube. We are switching to a synthetic pin, which is designed to last longer in our pinsetters.

    Thanks for the update on jam detection! I have a few other questions/thoughts:
    Does an OOR trip a code?
    How does the sweep behave if the neck of a pin gets trapped under it (when the sweep lowers on top of the neck of a pin, does the sweep still function properly)
    If the turret over indexes, missing a spot, can the machine detect this and does it trip a code?
    If for some reason a ball were to end up staying on the deck after 1st ball would the ball cause an OOR cycle
    Lastly a thought: have you considered adding short cycles like the amfs use? No sweep for gutter ball or corner pin only, no detect cycle for strikes

    • @coasterp2199
      @coasterp2199  4 роки тому +1

      No code on an OOR. It just runs the OOR cycle when detected.
      The sweep floats. It acts the same as a Brunswick A2 rake would if it came down on top of a pin.
      Turret over indexing is actually not something I have programmed in. Thanks, I actually hadn't thought of that. That would happen if the position sensor should ever fail or a relay got stuck. I'll be adding that in next week.
      A ball remaining on the deck should not cause any issue. The ball diameter is small enough for the deck to lower to the correct position on a respot cycle.
      I have thought about the short cycles but have not added them and it's a very long reason why. It has been tested though but I currently have no plans to add it back in.

      The over indexing would be a great thing to account for because if you get a sensor or relay stuck and you set an empty rack you have a bigger backlog of pins, which is just going to increase your chances of a pin jam that would do more harm than just tripping an over indexing code 👍

    What happened if a bowling pin went under the sweeper?

  • @PinoyBowlerGS92
    @PinoyBowlerGS92 4 роки тому

    Hey Phil, I have a question: If a bowler throws a fastball really fast and the pin bounces out and the pin is caught underneath the sweep, Will it jam the sweep ? On A2’s and AMF’s they still continue sweep the pins and the operation as well.

    • @coasterp2199
      @coasterp2199  4 роки тому

      It won't jam. You could actually put a ball under the sweep and it still wouldn't jam.

    Does the machine know not to set 20 pins at once?

  • @christopherrodmell1694
    @christopherrodmell1694 4 роки тому

    I now know what the machine does with offspots, but what about if the setting table comes down right when a pin was beginning to fall too late?
    Because I seen a video of this happening to someone on a Brunswick A-2, the player knocked over all pins except one, the setting table starts to come down, a rolling deadwood pin on the pin deck knocks the still standing pin, it begins to fall too late, the setting table almost jammed on it, but the pin slid over and the machine continues on with a strike cycle! The setting table just goes back up, the rake does it’s thing and then the setting table places does a new set of pins, wow...

    • @coasterp2199
      @coasterp2199  4 роки тому

      If the pin fell as the deck contacted it, the machine would continue to run a respot cycle. The reason for this is that the scoring computer has already communicated that there was a standing pin. As long as the pin fell before the deck motor reached it's 180 position, the pinsetter will run the respot cycle. If by some chance the pin fell after the deck motor reached the 180 position, the machine would run the OOR cycle. Hope that all makes sense.

      (This will only take 2 minutes) Search Up: A2 pinsetter 6 pin fail and you’ll straight see a 22 second video by Ian Torres you’ll really get what I mean and why I asked you this question

      @@christopherrodmell1694 What took place in the video can't happen on my machine because of the way it's designed. My machine would have picked the pin up.

    • @christopherrodmell1694
      @christopherrodmell1694 4 роки тому

      Then I guess it’s almost impossible for the deck table on your machine to suddenly knock over a pin like that, I think it would only be possible if the pin had fallen too much the machine can’t pick it up or if the pin was way off spot
