Up until 2015, Bungie and 343 more or less followed the rule of quality over quantity. But to make the new REQ packs worthwile, Halo 5 included a whopping 99 helmets, 9 times the amount of Halo 3. Because of this, it's safe to say some helmets were received better than others. But what if some of these helmets were to return in Halo Infinite. What would they look like? It's time, to redesign Halo.

Seeker is a straight upgrade in this redesign, it sort of reminds me of the Commando from Halo Reach and honestly looks like something I would wear in the game.
The man polished a turd, and through some black magic transfiguration turned it into gold... I love it!
I sincerely hope this redesign (and the others) gets added in Infinite's multiplayer.

I appreciate how much respect you paid to the originals. The fidelity of your work is ever increasing. Especially Viper. The idea to have the visor covering be optional is genius. I would have let Foehammer retain the very obvious aviator sunglasses visor, but it didn’t hurt the design to change. I could probably see myself using Seeker the most of all of these, actually! SEEKER GANG.

Alot of the originals were not even made by 343, they hired alot of people to design these helmets. Its nice to see their work being appreciated.
@@Zero_XTZ5 Say what you will about 343 but they let a lot of creative people make their mark on the Halo universe and for better or for worse they made a lot of interesting art that deserves respect even if it isn't the best for the halo IP

i really love your solutions to everything. making the engineers 4 dots a customization option makes it a helmet for those who love the reclaimer era, and the classic fans.
These helmet redesigns are always so good! The only one I think might need a little more tweaking is Foehammer, there's a lot of flat grey on the sides and underneath the visor that make it feel very flat

@@Wernissage in my opinion this could be helped by actually somewhat reverting a change you made from the original. I think those 2 sidepieces looked interesting when they connected right up to the visor. I think maybe angling them slightly outwards again and bringing them back to connect to the visor would actually fit really well with the rest of the redesign whilst retaining one of the more interesting parts of the original design
The mad man actually went and did it... He made Seeker into a decent looking helmet. Never thought I'd see the day.

Imagine a whole armor core and components that are the result of UNSC-Sangheili cooperation.
Honestly, I think that’s the only one that doesn’t need a redesign.

@@zettarin There’s already a lot of inspiration and reusing that 343 could do for this hypothetical armor core. In fact, I dare say this armor core could be the basis for a whole season.
- Halo 5’s Helioskrill would either be the default or the final legendary reward.
- The armor core could have an EVA offshoot based on Halo Reach’s Ranger Elites. On that same topic, an easy armor coating to milk would be the BOB Elites from reach as well.
- For a Recon or Scout offshoot, this armor core could have a helmet inspired by the Silent Shadow, not to mention a legendary glowing red/purple visor along with the helmet.
- I didn’t realise until this video, but the Viper helmet has four mandibles. Like an elite. Therefore, just write a short retcon for the helmet and attach it to this armor core as one of the lower level unlocks.
- For a legendary armor effect, the armor core could come with unique melee animations (and assassinations if they’ve been added to the game) that include using the wrist-mounted energy daggers of Halo Reach’s elites.
@@e.v4892 Other idea, if it can be implemented:
Customizable hud colors/formats. You can unlock a Sangheili-inspired purple hud with a sharper covenant aesthetic. Or something like the ODST HUD with the beige color and more rounded shapes. On that note, make a slot for custom recharge sounds and effects.
I loved the redesign for Reaper the most. It went from those awkward looking helmet to having a more skull-like design to it, especially with the new jaw. While I can understand you may not be at the point to do so, some videos I'd like to see are full body armour redesigns of Osiris and Blue Team. The thumbnail for the Osiris video has an interesting (yet cheekily hidden) redesign to Locke's armour
I think the seeker and engineer are my favorite redesings. Especially since you pay so much respect to the originals
Wow Seeker looks breathtaking! Makes me kinda wonder other helmets like Goblin, Centurion, or Buccaneer would look like.
These designs are honestly incredible. I'd love to see a redesign of some of the Promethean enemy types, but I know that would take a ton of time.

That sounds like a good idea. I too would also like to see what the Prometheans would look like if they followed more closely to the classic (or/+ infinite) forerunner building/sentinel/Monitor design. Although I know redesigning entire NPC's would take longer than just weapons or helmets

The seeker redesign is my favorite, It looks kinda of like a super beefy version of Commando from Reach

Once again an amazing display of Halo design comprehension. They all look awesome and so much better than the originals. And adding the attachments to help add in a more original design is a great detail that just feels Halo. Foehammer was the only one that was a little bland to me. The large blank spaces on the lower half felt very empty and under utilized. But that was certainly tough helmet. The seeker helmet was the absolute best. You just knocked it out of the park with that one. It reminds me a lot of the commando helmet from reach and that's not a bad thing.

I loved the engineer redesign, I would actually wear that if it was in Infinite. Also I do like the viper redesign, but I'd like for the "eye" piece to be an optional attachment as well. Without it, it kinda looks like a motorcycle helmet. Good work!
Engineer helm was my favorite redesign. The attatchment fits very smoothly on the overall look with the tubes

The viper redesign reminds me strongly of Destiny’s Exos, which I mean as a huge compliment. It’s a testament to how faithfully you and 343 are respecting Bungie’s design language and how the old feeds into the new. Fantastic work as always.

The seeker helmet redesign was my favorite because you took the essence of it and then remade and molded it into a better look
The viper helmet looks really cool! It think it would be neat to have a UA attachment that goes over the forehead to replicate Viper from Titanfall
343 credited the artist for their warship image when they put it in a map’s skybox. Maybe they could do the same adopting these redesigns.
Yeah but they only did so because fans called them out for trying to steal fan art. If no one had called them out then nothing would have happened
i absolutely LOVE the idea of redesigning VISR-less helmets to have a VISR but having the helmet attachment be the visor cover. super creative and i wish these were real
I must say the original Engineer (without the "middle stripe Visor") looks already cool! that and the CIO were my favorite "New Designed" Helmets from on Halo4!

You've gotten so good at this. I love having seen your stuff from the start of the redesign series, I can really see your talents grow. I adore all of these. I think it might help the Viper if, instead of being pasted in the middle of the visor, if it had some type of attachment along the lines of the visor. Like a small metal wire connecting it along the head, if that makes sense. That's all nitpicking though, it's still incredible.
I don't know if you have plans to continue this series with Halo 5 armor pieces since there are so many, but I'd love to see you put the gritty simplified look on some of the more nonsensical or animalistic themed helmets, like the one based on Olive the Pig, the Unicorn themed one, or the shark helmet.

The Engineer redesign w/out the attachment gives me really strong Mariner vibes and it's really cool.
This is honestly amazing, the reveal of the recluse's helmet attachment actually sent chills down my body, it looks like something a syfi spec ops soldier would use, like a night vision but with added armor. Attachments that change a helmet so drastically always makes me excited, I hear that's what is going to happen with Gunginir in Infinite, a goggle-like visor with a detached look, and the heavy armored camera lens as an attachment, perfect stuff
These are all so beautiful! Probably your best work yet. The redesigned Reaper and Seeker helmets look so good.
A video idea I think would be cool is if you got a bunch of halo artists together. Then get in a discord call with them and each person was tasked with redesigning a different helmet and y’all analyze your creation process and the final work. Anyways love the redesigns keep up the good work!

I would literally buy every single one of the redesigned versions of these halo 5 helmets if they were released in the store.
The original Seeker helmet was something I would never use with how ridiculous it was, but the redesign you did fits right up my alley for Badass looking helmets.
The seeker, foehammer and recluse look the best to me but all of them are certainly upgrades.
I love all of these redesigns. I especially love Foehammer being made a more reasonable looking helmet than one giant chunk of metal on its forehead
The redesign of Recluse is fucking sick! The panels actually look interesting and even practical rather than busy and overwhelmed like the Halo 5 version.
The fact that some parts of the helmets you made as attachments are such a better idea than it being an overall design.

The recluse redesign was brilliant. What a way to include a tip of the hat to ODST but then that blast shield attachment we see so often in infinite rn and making it look like the OG. Nice work
I really like that redesign of viper, it looks like a mix of 343 and legacy hemlets. 344 recon and scout, and something like the mk5b, and whilst retaining a little of that less rectangular, more organic aesthetic, its really unique
I always thought the reaper helmet had potential as well. I’m over here getting excited seeing you redesign it, as if it’s gonna be put in infinite 😭😭😭

This goes to show how simplicity can go a long way. I did not find a single helmet here that I didn't like...every single one is definitely something I would happily pay or play to acquire in Infinite

As always this is great work. You really have an eye for that classic Halo artstyle. I think the Seeker and Foehammer helmets were so messy in Halo 5, and the versions you made are ones I'd actually wear if they existed in Infinite.
That engineer re design was actually sick. It went from a helmet I'd pass by thinking it as a nice looking one to one I would use on the occasion for sure, really nice one imo.

Dude that base recluse redesign with the visor looks WAYY too cool. That would be my go to for my main spartan design. Very nice job on all of the helmets! These helmets would do really well in Infinite

I love the foehammer Redesign, I felt the engineer redesign didn't work with the visor replacing the face of the helmet but the attachment clears that up for me.
I didn't have any hope for the Seeker helmet... but you pulled it off and have restored my faith.
Recluse was my favorite helmet lore wise and new 343 design wise. I absolutely love your redesign of it!!!

Reaper is very samey but I enjoy what you did to make it less convoluted and for hammer I like those horn like pieces on the top but I love them all

you did the reaper one flawlessly. it looks like they went for a bit of a skull look for the helmet but it was faint, and ur design makes it look so good. hope they use it
I just realized the reaper resembles a barn owl to some capacity. Owls have lopsided ear holes for sound depth, and the helmet had a lunar silhouette

You did a fantastic job on these redesigns! My favorites are the Recluse and Seeker, and the fact that you managed to make *Seeker* - of all helmets - look good... That's damn impressive. I would've liked to have to seen profile views of the helmets as well, but I understand that would likely double the amount of work that would go into the video. Either way, great work!

If I'm not mistaken, the Engineer helmet's visor is actually a full visor with a plate over it (sort of like a welding mask). So your redesign actually adheres to the lore of the armor.
Man, these are fantastic! Absolutely the best of any of these Halo 5 helmet redesigns, they really feel like they fit in stylistically with everything else in Infinite. Would love to see you tackle some of my favorite 4/5 helmets, like Recruit, Warrior, Venator, Pathfinder, or Mako.
