While looking recently for a hassle-free, clutchless 7-seater petrol car with a budget of 20 lacs, I was torn between Carens Prestige Plus iMT and Rumion V AT. With carguru's advise, I bought the Rumion VAT under 16 lacs on-road in Delhi in December and am very happy with it. The car has done approx. 1000 kms in 2 months. Am getting average of 12-13 on the automatic with 60% city usage, 3-4 mostly onboard and AC on and we recently took a long trip to the Surajkund fair. The ride quality is superb, the bonnet's heavier than the previous generation Ertigas, the automatic gearbox is smooth though it does tend to hold onto the second gear a little longer on inclines to provide extra torque. By the way, the hill hold works like a charm. The car never rolls back on inclines, overbridges etc. even when you stop on steep angles. I don't drive over 80, so even as a newish driver, I find the handling easy and quite stable at that speed, even when cornering. In some of these situations, the traction control also may help.. The smart hybrid works well and recharges easily. Engine's super silent and smooth as expected in the 4-cylinder K15. That said, it's not a car for the enthusiast and the power won't blow you away. A correction to the video above: the "V" variant shown as being driven comes with not 2 but 4 airbags including side airbags in front row. The same may be confirmed from Toyota Bharat website and of course, my car says the same as well. I hope Amit Ji will edit the video soon. If anyone wants to ask me anything about the Rumion, including differences between it and Ertiga (there are quite a few), then can ask me and I'll be happy to answer here, if Amit ji permits.
I am planning to buy Rumion, can you please share your experience on non availability of any base under the engine section( it's not covered). And also what was your thought while purchasing as Rumion doesn't have much road presence as compared to Kia carens and Ertiga. Will wait for your reply
@@RemediesInLife Xl6 has features like TPMS, Ventilated seats and 360 degree camera on its top variant (Alpha plus) that are not available on any variant of the Rumion/Ertiga but the Alpha Plus costs a lakh over the Rumion V (top variant) and two lakhs over Ertiga top (ZXI Plus). Rumion's advantages over the XL6 are the smaller Bridgestone tyres providing softer ride quality than the bigger MRFs of the Xl6, the 7th seat and bench like rear row and completely foldable 2nd and 3rd row with more flexible seating options. The lighter beige coloured interiors also make it seem more airy than the XL6's dark cabin. Rumion's advantages over the Ertiga is the fresher design and reportedly, a better service experience. If you have the elderly or children as regular co-passengers, better to go for the Rumion or Ertiga as I've seen they prefer bench seats more. If having a 12+ year old kid in a nuclear family and don't need the seventh seat, you can go for the XL6 but then go for top variant Alpha Plus only as only that has the extra features I mentioned. Else, the Rumion V or Ertiga ZXI Plus is more value than even the Alpha trim of the XL6.
@@evergreensongsbyanindita the engine guard or splash cover is indeed missing in Rumion like in many cars, but from what I've read, it's not really a must have. Our older car (Maruti Ritz) also didn't have that and it's completed 14 years without a hitch and still with us. People have driven to Leh Ladakh and back on Ertigas without a splash guard, traveling some really rocky, pebble-filled roads. Still, if desired, you can get one from the aftermarket after discussion with the service centre so that it doesn't void any warranty etc. And do get it endorsed on the insurance policy. Shouldn't be an issue. As to the other points, I needed a hassle-free car with peace of mind experience. Road presence wasn't on my mind. That said, I feel the look of Rumion/Ertiga is mild and pleasant and not too aggressive or conspicuous. It's tall enough at over 1600 mm to hold its own in a sea of vehicles if not completely stand out, and it does it without screaming for attention. That suits me the best. I hate the front look of the Carens. It has the more spacious cabin though. Unfortunately the complicated DCT gearbox and some reported issues like AC condensation in the back row (water would drip from the roof and the sunroon panel sidings), rapid yellowing of LED lights, paint fading and fuel pump failures made us look away from it. Else, would have bought it but not for its looks or road presence. If seeking that, Scorpio N is the best 7-seater at that price (Z4 AT is 20 lacs on road in Delhi) but it's high maintenance.
I am not impressed by the Toyota Rumion design, it looks so old and doesn't look like a 2024 car. Toyota is fooling Indian car buyers, just rebadging Suzuki cars isn't a nice idea. I want to know the sales figures for Toyota rebadged cars, and I am confident the figures won't be good. Better to go for those cars that Toyota manufactures for their brand only, but those are expensive. Toyota must bring middle-class cars more into the market (not merely rebadged).
Also i doubt the resale value of these cars, Rumion, glanza etc.. after 5 years if toyota discontinues rebadging will it disturb these car's market value.. everybody knows this is ertiga but still
Sales numbers of Toyota are excellent after Suzuki and Toyota tie up. Their rebadged cars are doing really well and it was a very smart move by Toyota to tie up with Maruti. Look at what happened with Honda. It lost business for several years at a stretch and is still losing. You get the reliability of Maruti cars and the excellent service of Toyota. Same are the benefit for Toyota rebadged suzuki cars. You get a toyota car with the vast service network of Maruti. If you think about it.. Both brands have benefited.. and even the customers have.
12v socket hi theek hai, usko band nahi karna hai. agar sirf USB diya to , pin agar toot gayi ya socket me kuch cable toot ke fas gayi to entire USB ko hi change karna adega., jo mehenga hoga. 12V honay se aap aftermarket koi bhi socket laga sakte ho.

So you basically said that if 102 PS and 138 NM torque is enough to carry 7 people with luggage. Those are the power figures of a baleno with a smaller engine.
What's there to say? You can see for yourself. Go to any hill station and you'll find packed Ertigas all the way along with your Innovas and Boleros and Taveras. The power to weight ratio's more than adequate, even on inclines.
@@kunalsen2123 I have driven an ertiga on hills. Its terrible and driving a 7 seater in first gear at 5000 rpm nonstop is no fun. The engine and gearbox are reduced to ashes in a few years of hillside trips.
