- Today I talk about the wild hunt general caranthir. He was first introduced in the witcher games and in these games parts of his story are explored, I will attempt to tell you the parts you probably over-looked or, if not may this video act a refresher on Caranthir Ar-Feiniel's sad story in the witcher games. In today's video I'll cover Caranthir's origins, his history and his death and Caranthir's personality. Caranthir The Wild Hunt General. Caranthir The Wild Hunt Navigator.

A quick disclaimer - A lot of these videos use information from the witcher wiki, in some cases I do read directly from the pages, I do always make sure to include my own thoughts and other information I know myself, but I just want to make sure everyone is on the same page here. Even though I use information from the wiki, I do still create the videos, with time, effort and a lot of editing! The idea behind the lore videos is to present to information to you guys in a fun and more interesting way then you guys having to get the information from pages and read it yourself. If anyone isn't okay with this I apologise, but since day one I have always said where I get the information from. Thank you for reading.
Eredin - the pretty one
Imlerith - the dumb one
Caranthir - the badass one
Rohan Ladd Nawh!
You can´t know Eredin wasn´t forcing Caranthir to always wear his helmet in order to conceal HE was actually the pretty one...
What about Nithral?
Well i expect Caranthir was beautiful aswell, he is after all a mage of some sort
i have crippling depression lol he's born of like incest and shit when Avallache had all of he's ancestors fuck over and over again
When I first beat the witcher 3 I found that out of the bosses fight with the wild hunt eridin was the easiest compared to the other two.
Yeah, think that was a funny part from the game developers, like "the big bad wolf is a dog" kind of thing...what I also liked from the game developers, was that Eskel was defeated by Caranthir, and when Geralt defeated him, Caranthir was weak from his fight with Ciri, cuz in the books Eskel is considered a better fighter than Geralt
Eskel is - if I recall correctly - the best swordfighter (!). While Geralt could be with his enhancements stronger overall (meaning with all the witcher skills combined), Eskel would win against most people and witchers in a pure swordfight.
You also have to think (as mentioned in the video) that Eskel would propably beat Caranthir as well, if the latter couldn't teleport.
Couldn't have said it better myself
imlirith was the hardest one
Had problems with The Caretaker, Olgierd himself and the Nightmares (Try fighting 3 of them at once) in HoS in NG+ DM than the 3 of them combined
The one random ofieri mage in hearts of stone was harder than caranthir....
He was harder than any of the wild hunt. Imerith included
So true lol. I wasn’t expecting that when i fought him and got my ass kicked the first time.
Macdonalds Mascot he was showing dominance over you
@@sterbensrise2040 A mistake.
Let’s be honest, by the time we get to blood and wine, we all realise that the wild hunt were just a bunch of emo Boy Scouts
He was a really... chill guy... before he grew up. Now he's just... ice cold.
*puts on shades*
One of my favourite villains in witcher and maybe even in games in general , and definitely badass
Caranthir is the kid, that does 90% of the work for the presentation but the whole group gets the grade.
I feel like the main character boss fights in w3 were too easy even on deathmarch as you said, even some of the contracts were harder
It's a shame, but I guess just by collecting ingredients all game and levelling correctly, by that fight you have master crafted armour, decent potions and can beat everything aha. still, it was too easy.
Yep beat him first try on death march.. lil disappointing
1:39 Caranthir hears Gaunter O'Goat in the background; decides to leave 😂
I know that this might sound exagerated
But his boss fight should have not ended in there
I wanted him to teleport himself and Geralt to another World, fight there but he's stronger (A phase two)
Another being more desperate and more tougher (Phase three)
Then to the water
i think his boss fight was perfect. caranthir is arguably the 3rd most powerful character in the witcher 3 universe, certainly more powerful than geralt (eskel is near or as skilled as geralt, and caranthir destroyed eskel using only his staff). he has the power to open portals to different realms, teleport anywhere he desires, summon elementals, and incredibly powerful magic attacks. alongside this, he is also extremely skilled in melee combat as he defeated a witcher. but then ciri broke his staff, leading to using his mind alone to fight geralt. i think it's just a really well designed boss fight as well, his theme is the best in the game imo. it wouldnt really make sense for him to do all the things you said with his mind alone
@@solidsnake656 in my opinion is literally the strongest mage in the worlds
I was always disappointed by the finale of the Witcher 3, which felt incredibly rushed. At least Imlerith did something, but Caranthir and Eredin were both hyped up and end up dying like old farts, seemingly outwitted and overpowered without either having any backup plans or strategy. I guess ego just explains everything...
Marc Shanahan there was a lot of content cut from the end game, novigrad was actually going to be invaded by the hunt and you have to help the main people in the city (eg king of beggars, djkstra(?) and others) to fight them back, there was concept art for it but they removed it
@@todd4454 really????
True, but Caranthir was highly weakend by Ciri and for have transported the ship. Eredin is the real disappointment
Everything after kear morhen felt incredibly rushed
@Haljordan4life the long buildup that in my opinion didnt live up to expectation, the wild hunt were suppposed to be these phantom riders travelling through time and space and everybody is weary of them, carathnir was nerfed by ciri but eredin should not have been killed that easily i wanted more from them also at the early stages of the game which are my favorite(velen and novigrad) i always thought that the wild hunts's skeleton armor was not actually armor but their actual body and their souls are inside the armor or something i thought that they cannot be killed by blade like you need some powerfull magic or something
Caranthir could probably kill eredin and imlereth both
Both Imlerith and Canranthir would've whooped Eredin's ass. He was such a joke when you finally fought him. Just a pansy ass elf with spooky armor.
@@OTBASH A boss fight doesn't show how he strong he really is in a fight.
Caranthir can easily kill any characters in the games and books except for O'dimm and Ciri.
@@longvo8800 wrong
Hong Long Vo o’dimm not in the book
1:20 Eskel is quick an agile but needs to improve his distance managment.
Yes you're finally talking about the lore of the wild hunt members and can you do a lore video on imelrith you know the general of the wild hunt
(spoiler)eredin's other general vesemir's killer! Of course I will.
Cant lie, the wild hunt's armour is so badass
Thoroughly enjoying all your videos on the Witcher :)
If CDPR ever did an Enhance Version of this game we need to see Caranthir's face. The way he pulled Eredin away from Ciri after the uncontrolled release of her elder blood power shows he's a lot more intelligent than the King of the Hunt.
loved the simarillion reference :D i knew that name sounded familiar.
On my first playthrough he was one of the hardest fights I'd had yet, though to be fair I was wearing nothing but the masquerade bird mask and undergarments
The only way to fight
The most underrated villain in the witcher ever, he got so underestimated cuz he doesn't look intimidating at all, yet once you pay enough attention to the story you would realize this guy is insanely powerful, way more powerful than pretty much every characters in the games and books, only behind Ciri and Gaunter O'Dimm.
He doesn't look intimidating. Bruh he's looks very intimidating.
Even lodge's members block all his navigation talent and even his frost spell can't affect them.LOL
The only way you figure out how much of a threat he is... is if you talk to Avallac'h in the boat in Kaer Trolde... calls him the Golden Child basically "The Ciri" of the Wild Hunt... which makes it fitting that Ciri and Caranthir go at it... while Geralt decides Caranthir's fate (as he does Ciri's)
I loved the Sulmarilion bridge you made. Loving all of your content. Thanks for doing this. 😁
Dude you're making me wanna replay the witcher 3 now. I've been through 5 times already 😂
It's so awesome!
Years late, but one nice thing facing him is If you lead the ice troll/golem between you two as a human shield.
I did that in my fights too aha, instant kill.
Bingo Bear first time it happened to my I didn't really realise what happened to that Golem I was fightin seconds ago!
Percival music makes Witcher 3 a masterpiece of centuries..
Witcher George thanks for making videos out there on Witcher universe. Respect from India 🇮🇳🙌
An episode about Nithral could be cool.
Vox Rocker Damn, that's a good point. I totally forgot about Nithral. He is the warrior you face in velen during the quest with Keira, right ?
Yes, sweaty palms O' plenty during that fight
Lore wise Nithral is irrelevant. But its still funny how he always says 'a shot of vodka'.
2:50 I don't know if the Ofieri mage Aamad it's more powerful but it's definetely more combat proficient.
Could you please do a video about the political landscape of "the continent" and / or the kingdom's of the continent. I figured I understood it well enough until I realised I couldn't really distinguish kaedwen from kovir hahaha
I love this channel ! Great content, keep it up and I hope you can become a major channel :D
Regards from Brazil
Thank you eddie!
that elf is a badass
Another great video as usual! Love your content and love the Witcher universe.
Thanks chief.
Great video my man, really insightful ❤️👌 i'm a couple years late, but it doesn't matter, Witcher 3 will forever be the greatest game of all time ❤
The caranthir boss fight took me ages lol.
I guess it depends on how prepared you are, I had to re-record it for this video and found that my memory was correct it just didn't take long aha
WitcherGeorge Yeah I didn't really have any potions or good weapons, but once i figured out the attacks its way easier.
a son of Feanor, the most tempramental of all noldor princes and might have feelings for amazon female human if not for his oath.
Could you make lore builds such as School of the wolf, cat and the others? That would be interesting to watch :)
good idea!
Cool video. Can you cover the other witchers in the future videos ? Like Eskel, Lambert, Berengar etc.
Definitely man!
The MVP of the wild hunt
i enjoyed fighting this bastard, and he was a foe worthy of my respect
may he rest in peace
With his last strength he dragged you deep into the Sea so you'd drown. He can burn in hell for all I care.
Lambert vs cars this was always pretty badass
Even though most people agree that Caranthir was the best of the Wild Hunt, I still feel like he’s underrated. He beat Eskel (who is on the same level as Geralt, at least in the books), Ciri, and he probably would have beaten Geralt one on one had the fight with Ciri not already weakened him. Even still, he nearly kills Geralt by teleporting them underwater as he dies. Dude is hardcore.
Maybe we could give him a benefit of doubt: He was already tired from fight against Ciri, while Geralt was *fresh*... And Ciri broke his staff, which I imagine weakened him further
Good point!
His bossfight is still harder than Eredin.
Could you also maybe mention why certain characters have certain abilities in gwent? Im pretty sure that the card abilities are inspired by lore but I don't understand some of the cards yet.
I'm a new sub (great channel) but can we get a video on forefather's eve or the naming ceremony? Both are pretty neat from the little I know
This boss was particularly difficult cause I was an idiot first playthrough and did this way underleveled with a broken sword
If you fight Eredin with this equipment, you have done everything right, he is easy AF.
@@donsorenoelchapogringo1182 lol he was took a minute to learn his moves then it was just smack him for a while till he died
Eskel is friggin badass
Great video keep it up.
thanks man!
Do a video on Dandelion!
Good idea man!
You're right, the battle was pretty simple, but it wasn't supposed to be a game that was focused on boss battles. The final drowning ending was seriously unfair, at that point I was expecting him to come back with 1/2 health.
I understand the focus is story, but I suppose that's what makes the fight so under-whelming
Had a hard time getting passed him with Ciri on Death March for some reason, but I showed him what's what when I regained control of Geralt lol.
Fun fact: Caranthir is the only general of the Wild Hunt that we do not see without his mask. Shame!
Great video as always, btw!
Thanks man and good point!
I have another theory, caranthir is still alive. Unlike the other two he isn’t brutally killed the last time you see him he’s sinking into the ocean.
Nice theory!
WitcherGeorge and to add to it the next Witcher game it could have Caranthir involved in a long series of side quests like letho of gilet quest in Witcher 3
the fact this guy was named after tolkien elves caranthir, feanor’s son and aredhel ar-feiniel lol
Very nice, are u gonna cover imlerith next ?
maybe!
Will you cover the history of the elves and the schism between the Aen Elle and the Aen Seide
Anyone who has played the Witcher knows the only boss you fear. Is the elder Vampire. One wrong dialogue quote and he rips your head off without you remembering to save your game
Caranthir is with no doubt the MVP of the Wild Hunt. Who has the hardest boss fight? Caranthir. Which music plays a majority of the time when the Wild Hunt is mentioned? Caranthis Theme. Who can teleports fucking ships and metric shitton of riders? Caranthir. Who totally beat Eskel (Who is told to be as good as a swordsman as Gerald) 1v1? Caranthir.
[Edit] Who totally saved Eredins and Imleriths asses during the Battle of Kaer Morhen? Caranthir. Who beat Ciri on Skellige? Caranthir.
Change my mind.
I won't try aha
@WitcherGeorge keep up the good work
I wish they would bring him back in a future witcher game since we technically didn't see him die on screen he could of teleported.
But I'd want him to come back as a good guy and fight along ciri😮
Would've been cool to see avallach face off against him would be emotional for him
Somehow I doubt Avallach is efficient in a melee combat.
But hey a magic fight would be nice.
@@JohnDoe-qu2dr uh? He went toe to toe with eskel? The same guy who is stated to be EQUALS with geralt
@@Just_abigheadnoob Toe to toe? You mean was beaten and had to be saved by Ciri? Eskel in Witcher 3 is not in the same universe as Geralt. Reference the books all you want... but in Witcher 3 Geralt's strength is unmatched not even Ciri is at his level (hence their discussion as to who was gonna fight Imlerith)
For me Caranthir was the most difficult of the base game
When cyberpunk 2077 come out or if cyberpunk is shown at E3 will you talk about?
Great Video and keep it up
Definitely!
Oh and now I remembered. Caranthir does not use frost magic(just to shield himself maybe) but that big frost that's always near them when they appear is because of portals open in the dimension of the white frost, but those take a great deal of power to open since he does not open them by himself, his staff is also possesing imense power.(And that's why Ciri had to destroy it)
P.S. And yea he was easy to beat.... too easy.
It's actually called frost magic I believe.
WitcherGeorge Partialy there is frost magic used. Like when he shields hinslef with frost. But think about the fact that he summoned portals in Avala'ch's hideout to stop them. He can indeed freeze things by himself yet when he wants to freeze larger areas he opens a portal to that dimention. Dimention from with the hounds of the hunt come.
I legit think that caranthir COULD have killed geralt if instead of teleporting him underwater he would teleport both far into the sky.
I agree that Caranthir seemed too weak at the end of the game, they could have done something to at least make it seem like more of a struggle for Gerralt.
As for future videos, I would love to see Lara and Cragen/Cregennan of Lod. (Maybe you can dig up something I missed?) And Ithlinne, I don't know much about her other than prophecies and that she was a famous healer/astrologer on the side. Or maybe that's pretty much all there is to know about her?
Good idea man!
Thank you. Another question that came up in a conversation through my white frost theory. If sorceresses are sterile, how come Geralt was born to a sorceress? That would also be interesting to hear your thoughts about. In any case I'm looking forward to your next video. ;)
Bro I died like 4 times when I first faced him in Undvik
Hard fight!
It's fun to look at your 3 year old videos - really shows that you learned to turn down the SFX volume
He’s probably coming back next game because he teleports somewhere he’ll heal or the water freezes him up and keeps him alive or something
For me Caranthir was one of the hardest boss fights in the game. Him and that annoying Djinn. They both would insta kill me with their magic, and I would always inflict only 100+ damage on each blow I threw at them
He is still nothing compared to Detlaff and that damn Toad Prince
@@PolishGod1234 or for me my toughest fight was agaisnt Olgierd at his house in the beginning of hearts of stone
Hardest fight in Witcher 3 is "The Champion of Champions" real ones know
I fully agree his death was so disappointing for someone who was probably more powerful than Vilgefortz because of his breeding. I just gotta point out as well when you said "comment from this user" no user popped up so I'm wondering whose comment this was? As I suggested a Caranthir vid;)
Whoops, must've not rendered the comment (it sometime's does that with screenshots for some reason)
How can he be more powerful than Vilgefortz? Geralt killed Caranthir easily. But Vilgefortz can take on Geralt Yennefer and a higher vampire (Regis).
And he was kinda blind. He only had one eye while facing them.
İlker Yuksek gerelt has grown at this point he's a lot better now
Alex Nelson nope geralt gets worse day by day.In the books Nenneke always told Geralt that his reflexes were getting slow.
Seems like I need to re read the silmarillion, doesn’t help that I always just read any hard name as ahsgagsuahsga though
There are a lot of Tolkien references in the Witcher games, you should make a video on them.
good idea!
I didnt feel his death was disappointing at all, he is the smartest of the wild hunt generals we meet and therefore his final effort is not greedy or wasteful, he tries to finish geralt with his final breath.
Still, he could've been more of a challenge
I had a really hard time with tye Curanthir fight. Not because it was hard, because my Switch's processor couldn't handle all his magic AND the golems he kept summoning so I was running on 4FPS for most of the fight
Caranthir is pretty literally the most powerful and skilled Aen Elle mage, second only to Avallc'h.
Honestly, even with less screen time, Caranthir's character was done so much more better than the entire Wild Hunt.
If Caranthir teleported into the void of space or just a great height.....uhh physics hurt.
Mozoto Dude, our physics is flawed… Rethink everything you’ve been taught, Not to mention it’s the Witcher universe not ours.

Hmmmmm unlike Imrelith and Eredin i never saw concluding evidence of his death he was seen drifting towards the bottom of the ocean but and thats it game cuts to Geralt , i believe that he is alive still and if new game ever comes arround we will see him again
I think the fight would be harder if we had to fight him in the form which Ciri fought him because he teleports the whole time away and uses magic
Pff me and the lads could take him drunk
I would like to see that aha
Here is a coin for the veteran
Matej Tomala thanks mate
"Alone we are weak, but together we are strong"- Some guy
the depressed puppy I didn't say that
Someone should create a Caranthir mod to make him much stronger during his final battle.
Maybe his helmet falls off too
I think that Caranthir just didn't have enough spells in that boss fight. I didn't have much difficulty beating him on death match. Also the vampir games pronunciation is a bit different, the "I" is kinda read using the "E" sound when just saying he letter "E"
ah thanks man!
Caranthir for me was the easiest boss in the witcher 3, since he just glitched out and stood still in his spawn point, not even flinching when i hit him with a poison laced sword or bomb him with shrapnel or gas him with a gas bomb.
Caranthir is the daddy of the Wild Hunt
Hey a good idea is to do a new game plus starting at level 55 on deathmarch it makes it so much harder.
Could be fun!
They did caranthir dirty as fuck in his fight, with the way he was finessing eskel he should’ve been waaaaayyy harder
Caranthir was injured and depleted by the time Geralt fights him... with a broken staff to boot. Geralt was at 100% while Caranthir after fighting CIri + the staff was at about half strength... even then 1 or 2 hits of his magic and you're dead
Bring him back
I think it is more better that Caranthyr didn’t took down his mask, it was more badass.
I've bought simirilon and tried to read it lol. It's like reading an encyclopedia. Love all those books though. Same with Tolkien bestiary
**"Interesting" intensifies...**
Can u make a video from eredin?
Nicee, now i want some TW2
DLC for 1 first aha
it would be cool of geralt used aard to stop some sort of hand magic the you have to spam a button them if heralt gets close he decap him into minec elven meat
That would be awesome!
You should read the Silmarillion pronunciation guide
maybe!
Caranthir is still less powerful than Avallach (Elven Sage who fought several times Eredin, Imlerith and Caranthir with their warriors together to protect Ciri), Ida Emean (Another very powerful elven Sage who taught to Yennefer how to lift the curse launched by Eredin, lately Avallach himself helped Yennefer to succeed at the very critical end of lifting that very old and powerful curse), Francesca (very powerful pure blood elven sorceress), Vilgefortz (very powerful human mage, has beaten Geralt with magic and sword separately and has been maybe the only one who has beaten a high vampire with his intense fire magic), and Philippa (very powerful human sorceress, one of very talented who master polymorphy and very powerful mass destruction spell called Melgar Fire, launched secretly on 2 armies at once, bounding a dragon on her will). Even in game, Keira Metz is not only able to protect herself and Geralt from Caranthir's frost magic, but also able to disable his magic portals and end his white frost invocation). And Lodge members not only are able to block completely his very rare talent (Navigation between worlds), but also are the reason why Caranthir was angry (he said that he will get his revenge on these lodge's bitches during his battle with Ciri) to know that other powerful sorceresses can make him look like just a random frost mage (during battle with Geralt). Really with all these characters, Caranthir isn't so powerful as this video wants to show. ;)
Incorrect....Aen Aelle elves are in general more advanced when it comes to magic than humans. It is like comparing alien technology to human technology.
Caranthir is basically an Aen Elle mage prodigy which puts him in the upper tier. Basically only Ciri and perhaps Avallach are more powerful than him and that's counting all characters from both books and games. O dimm and Unseen elder are something else so i am leaving them outside of this discussion.
So, what i mean by that?
In battle of Kaer Morhen for example, the moment the hunt/Caranthir decided to get serious, they overpowered Geralt and the rest easily. Caranthir easily breaks Yennefer's shield and simultaneously effectively freezes everyone. If he could do that, he could probably kill them all instantly. The only reason he didn't is because main objective was to capture Ciri and by killing somebody it was likelier that they would piss her off and produce something unlike what actually happened when they killed Vesemir which wasn't intended by the way.
At Skellige, the plan was to trap them and corner them. Caranthir instantly twharts them by freezing the sea and all the soldiers inside the barrier. Caranthir then proceeds to break the barrier but is interrupted by Ciri. Whether he would succed or not is questionable but he certainly believed he could. Reality is, they really didn't have the capacity to beat the Hunt without Ciri's intervention.
Plus, do you really think that Avallach would let Ciri take a risk by exposing herself if he believed that they could stop Caranthir without her. Avallach is the only one who truly understands both Ciri's and Caranthir's potential.
He was beaten in the end, but only because he actually carried a gigantic ship and a bunch of soldiers across dimensions which drained him a great deal and then fough Ciri who he techically defeated because she was unable to continue the fight and fled in the end, than Geralt takes on a severely weakened Caranthir. Yeah, Ciri dominated him but at the last moment he cast a spell which caused an explosion because ciri clashed her sword in the last moment and the the explosion damaged both of them. He got up, she didn't. Pretty clear huh. It is akin to a race where a sprinter is winning until he burns all of his energy and the slower man wins in the end because of his endurance.
Caranthir is primarily a navigator, which means his purpose is to teleport across dimensions. No one except for Ciri is able to do that! All the mages in Geralt's world are teleporting within their own world, even then they use additional equipment to create portals to greater distances. Even so there is a limit on how far they can travel and they cannot teleport multiple individuals. It requires a great deal of energy. Caranthir carries the hunt and gigantic ship across dimensions! It is like comparing a family car to a space ship lol.
Just because someone defeated Geralt in single combat(Vilgefortz) doesn't make him superior haha
Technically, Caranthir beat him twice when he froze him along with a dozen others. He could have easily finished him off if he wanted to. It is not as glamurous because it is a single spell but there it is.
He would do the same to Regis, Detlaff and whoever.
Think about it....Only reason why he was defeated is Ciri so it appears that he is weaker than he actually is.
@@tomislavjakusmejarec163 "Incorrect....Aen Aelle elves are in general more advanced when it comes to magic than humans. " - I'm not comparing Aen Aelle elves to humans, I'm comparing 1 Aen Elle mage (who is not a sage) with a very rare navigation talent to some well known very powerfull human mages who achieved much difficult destruction level magic or they also, very rare talent (like polymorphisme of Philippa).
"Caranthir is basically an Aen Elle mage prodigy which puts him in the upper tier. " - No, this is not true, you can't say that he's powerful than human mages just because he's Aen Aelle, we should compare them one by one, only elven sages can be readily put on a higher tier level and CARAnTHIR IS NOT AN ELVEN SAGE. HE'S JUST A MAGE WITH A VERY RARE TALENT OF NAVIGATION BETWEEN WORLDS WHICH MAKES HIM UNIQUE, HE'S THE RESULT OF SELECTIVE BREEDING BY AVALLACH WHO SEARCHED AND AMPLIFIED THIS RARE TALENT IN ELVEN MAGES BY BREEDING THEM. "Basically only Ciri and perhaps Avallach are more powerful than him and that's counting all characters from both books and games. O dimm and Unseen elder are something else so i am leaving them outside of this discussion.
" -All Aen Aelle sages are more powerful than Caranthir, far more powerful. Avallach and Ida are more powerfull than him. When it comes to talent, he's unique, but this uniqueness doesn't make him more "powerful", but rare. Philippa has also a rare talent which is polymorphism, not any known mage mastered it yet, but it doesn't make Philippa powerful for that, she's powerful because she can cast the Melgar Fire spell, a mass destruction spell that destroyed 2 armies at one. Other than that, Caranthir can fight as a normal frost mage and can create Ice elementals, Philippa also, she created fire elemental, as we can see it in game,... Very rare magic aptitude or talent is a uniqueness of a mage or sorceress, but being really powerful is quite different. Vilgefortz was even more powerful than Philippa, Vilgefortz is so more powerful than Caranthir, his fire magic was so intense that he melted a fireproof higher vampire into glass... For Francesca, maybe she can be in toe to toe with Caranthir.
"Caranthir easily breaks Yennefer's shield and simultaneously effectively freezes everyone." - Not at all, Yennefer's magic prevented Caranthir to cast the white frost inside her "area", but Yennefer's force was not unlimited, it was diminishing, it's why after a certain time Yennefer's forces became weakened and she fell and ONLY THAT MOMENT Caranthir was able to cas his white frost spell. See again the scene. "If he could do that, he could probably kill them all instantly. The only reason he didn't is because main objective was to capture Ciri and by killing somebody it was likelier that they would piss her off and produce something unlike what actually happened when they killed Vesemir which wasn't intended by the way. " - He freezed everybody because the only protecter sorceress fell and the other 2 sorceresses who were fighting were just on the effect area of that white frost spell. Only Vesemir and Ciri were protected beside walls so they were not in the effect area of that spell. See again the scene.
"At Skellige, the plan was to trap them and corner them.
" - Still you need to see the scene again, Caranthir was the only mage of Wild hunt during that battle and his spell were contained or canceled by lodge's sorceresses power, the sorceresses put themself in a circular way to block caranthir and his navigation and frost magic by creating a bubble shield, even during the frost spell effect, Avallach, Ciri and the lodge's members were not affected at all by Caranthir's magic, Ciri wanted to enter to the ice frost bubble to fight Caranthir, and Avallach said to her that this spell's power source is Caranthir's staff (Like yennefer's protective shield's origin were her 2 staffs), if she breaks it, the spell would be stopped and it worked.
"Plus, do you really think that Avallach would let Ciri take a risk by exposing herself if he believed that they could stop Caranthir without her. Avallach is the only one who truly understands both Ciri's and Caranthir's potential.
" - Avallach would never let Ciri to approach Caranthir and Eredin if he thought that Caranthir was sooooo powerful, even before this battle he said to geralt that it's risky but if things start to turn bad, he will intervene. It means that Avallach who was the creator of Caranthir knew that Caranthir is far from an unbeatable mage. Himself he fought alone Eredin, Caranthir and Imlerith with their army and destroyed the half of a forest in Skellige.
"He was beaten in the end, but only because he actually carried a gigantic ship and a bunch of soldiers across dimensions which drained him a great deal and then fough Ciri who he techically defeated because she was unable to continue the fight and fled in the end, than Geralt takes on a severely weakened Caranthir. " - This is only your interpretation, he fought Ciri inside his frost spell, he lost. He fought Geralt after the shield was broken, he lost also. "Yeah, Ciri dominated him but at the last moment he cast a spell which caused an explosion because ciri clashed her sword in the last moment and the the explosion damaged both of them. He got up, she didn't. Pretty clear huh. It is akin to a race where a sprinter is winning until he burns all of his energy and the slower man wins in the end because of his endurance." - Still he couldn't catch her because of her teleportation talent. For me in both cases, he lost.
"Caranthir is primarily a navigator, which means his purpose is to teleport across dimensions.
" - Completely agree, it's why he's unique, even among AenElle, he has this talent unmatched among human and elven mages, it's true, but it doesn't make him really powerful, as I said Philippa masters polymorphism, a very rare talent that not any other mage or sorceress, Avallach and Caranthir included, can master. It's her uniqueness, not her power (she's still a very powerfull sorceress). You mix two different things.
"Just because someone defeated Geralt in single combat(Vilgefortz) doesn't make him superior haha
" - Yennefer was not a match for Vilgefortz in magical power, Geralt wasn't his equal in swordsmanship and even a fireproof higher vampire didn't resist to the intensity of his fire spells. you are really underestimating Vilgefortz...
"He would do the same to Regis, Detlaff and whoever.
Think about it....Only reason why he was defeated is Ciri so it appears that he is weaker than he actually is." There are not any evidence of his real power in lore, but in the game, he's just a strong frost mage with a very rare unmatched talent. It's all.
@@parvizallazov5194 Wow this was a long reply.... I commend you for patience and the good arguments.
But...I still have some of my own left.
Francesca Findebair and Ida Emean as sages(much older and experienced)are indeed probably more powerful than every other mage in Witcher universe including Caranthir and Vilgefortz. I forgot about them. I thought that Caranthir is superior to every other mage(not sage) individually.
But even then, what are we talking about here? Power in terms of battle proficiency in direct conflict or general individual feats? It is a large conjecture to put all those mages you mentioned on Caranthir's level or above him. He is represented in the game as a major threat, the rest is open to interpretation.
Avallach didn't fight the Hunt on regular basis. He was fleeing and hiding from them and when he did face them, he was turned into Uma by Eredin. He caused a massive explosion and probably killed a lot of riders but he wasn't able to actually beat the Hunt. Eredin and Imlerith are just warriors with some magic aptitude like Geralt so the only real threat is Caranthir as a mage. The difference in power cannot be that high because Avallach would just defeat them on his own and kill them all. Avallach is powerful alright but powerful in different kind of way...More in terms of magic science, knowledge and wisdom. He can cast powerful spells as well but i doubt that he is effective in combat for example. We don't know, but something tells me that he cannot fight and brandish his weapon in the way Eredin, Imlerith and Caranthir can. Same can be said for Ida and Francesca.
Now let's move to Phillipa and Vilgefortz...Phillipa is the strongest of the lodge and known for some feats in books and games. In witcher universe, the more poweful the spell, the more energy it takes to cast it.
Caranthir is frost specialized battle mage with additional talent for teleportation(he is basically better at teleportation than anybody except Ciri) also capable of massive scale spells, only difference being that they are frost based. The difference is that Caranthir can cast more powerful spells at greater rate because he is Aen Elle( a more efficient magic user). He cannot cast a Melgar fire spell specifically but he can cast frost equivalents in terms of scale and is able to stop an army as well. To top it all off he is able to fight a master witcher in direct combat and beat him(Eskel). As for individual talents i agree that nobody can be good in everything and each have their own. But i would simply put Caranthir's travel between worlds as more impressive, as far as magical feats go, than polymorhism.
The issue with Vilgefortz is that we have game representation of the character pited against book representation. If Vilgefortz was in the game, Geralt could beat him in single combat too.
But canonically he was represented as invincible, i cannot deny that. He is shown to be several levels above Yenneffer and that is trough direct confrontation with her( which is a rare occassion between magic users).
But i still think that he is overrated. I would say that he is nearly the same or slightly better level as phillippa but with addition of being able to fight in melee combat and using magic to enhance himself in combat. But overall one of the best human mages for sure.
Defeating a higher vampire is not a major feat actually for a reasonably powerful mage because vampires are not resistant to magic and Regis is not fireproof.
Higher vampires are only said to be dangerous for witchers, even then they are affected by something as simple as signs and can be defeated by even witchers altough only by the best of them.
Mages in general are OP in witcher universe and hardly anything is a threat for them. It is really a mismatch when they face monsters. You greatly underestimate Caranthir if you think that he couldnt dispose of Regis as well quite easily. I wouldn't put my money even on the unseen elder if he faced multiple powerful sorcerers at once who were comitted to defeating him.
Vilgefortz would be closest to Caranthir in terms of feats and power but not superior.
Geralt never defeated a fully fresh Caranthir in a fair fight and thats a fact.
The fact that it took 5 sorceresses of the lodge to contain him speaks for itself. Even so...they contained him for a short period of time and is unknown how much longer they could hold. The fact that Avallach was ready to intervene speaks for itself. He is not just a random frost mage. He is exceptionally powerful mage with mastery of frost and teleportation magic and they represented him as someone who required a great deal of effort to stop.
In battle of Kaer Morhen, you can interpret it either way..He is clearly superior to Yenneffer but i give you the benefit of the doubt because there is no direct confontation like with Vilgefortz.
I also don't know how Keira Metz closing his portals and shielding herself and Geralt from white frost proves anything .The idea was to stall them which he did quite well. If it wasnt for Geralt to protect her from Wild hut dogs, she wouldn't survive. It took great effort from both of them to fight trough that.
As far as confrontation with Ciri goes... She is clearly superior by leaps and bounds. She managed to destroy his staff and do damage but she didn't kill him. She stated: "I wont stop at his staff". She planned to kill him but was unable to because she was knocked down and unable to continue. Considering her power and that he survived, that in itself is an impressive feat. I personally consider that a win but more based on luck than power. The fact that she had to teleport is a testament to a loss altough not a clear loss. She basically wiped the floor with him and couldn't handle the explosion from the staff in the end. As you said, it is my personal interpretation and you can easily say he lost as well but i would at least call it 50: 50 overall.
In general there is not that much material to judge Caranthir on because he only appears in the third game. But based on these few things he is shown to be one of the best magic users in witcher universe even though he is specialized in only few things. It is very difficult to compare him to the characters you mentioned.
But i would ,based on impression ofcourse, put him on a level below Avallach,Ida, Francesca,Ciri... and above the sorceresses of the lodge and most other mages. Vilgefortz is very difficult to compare but safe to say that they are equals but each one of them proficient in their own area.
@@tomislavjakusmejarec163 Ida is undoubtly much more powerful than Caranthir, she could be close to Avallach at power level, but she's like Avallach, not interested and rarely intervened in human's affairs (not like Philippa other lodge's members). Francesca on the other hand, is not a sage, but still very powerful sorceress, like human mage Vilgefortz.
Caranthir the only mage in Wild Hunt army, Eredin and Imlerith are sword user, unlike him, who can use his navigation talent to reach ciri, treat doesn't mean very powerful, he's very dangerous because of his unmatched talent and his magic power, because he remains still a "very" powerful mage.
Avallach can fight them, but he was one of them before, he fought them just to give enough time to Ciri to escape, fighting Wild Hunt wasn't Avallach's goal, it's true on other side also, Eredin, Imlerith and Caranthir had not any goal to fight Avallach, they wanted to reach Ciri, with or without Avallach. Even if Avallach could kill one of them or the entire army, the remaining ones would still stand up and try everything to reach only Ciri, they wouldn't loose time with Avallach. You don't see this "subtility". "The difference in power cannot be that high because Avallach would just defeat them on his own and kill them all.
" - The mage in this universe can be not good to fight with sword or axe (except some like Vilgefortz or Caranthir), you are right, but they don't need that. They can use their magic to do much more damage and to kill in mass destruction level than a normal human soldier, scoaitel elf, wild hunt warrior who use axe, bow or sword. Even in her weakest form just back from owl polymorphism, blind Philippa was near to kill every body in Dikstra's place, the one who weren't killed fell on her magic, be they human swordman or troll. So I mean, mages and sorceresses don't need sword or axes to fight and kill.
No, Philippa is the leader of the lodge. The power level goes from Ida, Francesca, Philippa, Shila to Assir, Fringilla, Yennefer, Triss and Keira. Philippa was the most implicated in politics, it's why she was the leader of this secret politic circle to protect magic and magic users.
"As for individual talents i agree that nobody can be good in everything and each have their own. But i would simply put Caranthir's travel between worlds as more impressive, as far as magical feats go, than polymorhism.
" - Very difficult to compare this talent with others, for exemple, Tissaia de Vries, a very powerful sorceress (teacher of Philippa, Yennefer...) was said to have a very rare and unmatched skill also : Not any magical shield could resist to her power. To compare, just think about Keira who protected herself and Geralt from Caranthir's white frost with her shield, Yennefer who protected a large area from Caranthir's white frost, the same Yennefer was almost unable to neutralize Avallach's shield at the end and could only open a hole for Geralt. By taking all these facts, how to compare Tissaia's talent to Caranthir's navigatuion talent or Philippa's polymorphism talent ? They are just uncomparable...
For Vilgefortz, We will still take facts from game, if doesn't exist, from the lore. For now in the lore, Vilgefortz fought and beat geralt with magic and with his swordman skill separetely, Geralt used an instant opportunity to kill him and you know how ? Because of and illusion amulet given by Fringilla. geralt could never be able to beat Vilgefortz. But with Caranthir, with his fighting magic power and his ice elementals, he fought alone and beat him, without any illusion or cheat, just by fighting with him on a frozen lake.
Vilgefortz was really very very powerful, Yennefer wasn't a match for him, still Yennefer remains a powerful sorceresses. Philippa also neutrilized Yennefer's power and imprisoned her, she escaped again with Fringilla's help. And taking this fact and the fact that yennefer remains still a powerful sorceress, it gives an idea how powerful vilgefortz was.
For high vampire's abilities, You should really see the lore and the game's scene, all high vampire's are immune to fire and to magical detection spells, even in game, there's a book wrote by a man who knew Regis true identity, saying that he didn't had any damage from a burning house (Regis saved this man and become friend), the fact confirmed by Regis. Only a very intense and unnatural fire can harm a high vampire and Vilgefortz was so powerful to melt a fireproof high vampire (still not killed him, only another high vampire can end the existence of one of theirs).
For the unseen elder, he is far powerful from a normal high vampire, he just doesn't want to fight, to use his energy, his time, to intervene in human world. He doesn't care, he cares only abourt his calmness. The unseen elder could kill Vilgefortz and of course Caranthir. Maybe after Gaunther O'Dimm, the unseen elder (or elders, because there are more than 1) is the most powerful being in the witcher's world.
Geralt fought him in his mighty form, except his talent to retreat which was blocked by the lodge's members and his frost shield broken by Ciri. He fought Ciri only with his short level teleportation and his staff, but he fought Geralt with his long teleportation, his full magic attacks and his elementals. Ciri won because she was more agile than Caranthir's teleportation (it was a teleportation duel, see that scene, one attacking the other escaping, repeatedly, till one moment when Ciri's teleportation takes upper hand). Geralt fought only with his witcher's skills. So Caranthir was not diminished at all. Only his frost spell was broken (this spell freezed the nearby army, still hadn't reach Avallach or Lodge's members) and his navigation talent were canceled by sorceresses so he hadn't any possibility to retreat, he fought till the end and knew that Gerald could kill him and said that even if geralt kills him, geralt will not win (the whole battle he mean).
"In battle of Kaer Morhen, you can interpret it either way..He is clearly superior to Yenneffer but i give you the benefit of the doubt because there is no direct confontation like with Vilgefortz.
" - Still his spell could have an effect on the nearby fighters only when Yennefer's forces completely diminished and she fell. He's more powerful than yennefer it's true, but still it's not easy to neutralize other strong sorceress shield easily.
For Keira, Keira is one of the weakests of the lodge, her fighting skills were much less powerful than that of Vilgefortz, Caranthir or Philippa or Yennefer or Triss (Triss can also be very destructive, she proved it during the battle), Keira can be vulnerable if attacked directly by melee attackers, it's why she needed help from Geralt. But she proved also that she could protect herself and block the portals with her magic (still it took time for her, but for Triss who is a little bit more powerful than keira, only one gesture during Ciri's and Triss fighting scene was enough to close Caranthir's portals from where were coming hounds and warriors).
For battle with Ciri, Yes, agree, it was very teleportation directed battle between them, but while we didn't see them fighting on melee with only sword and staff (as it was with Eskel), we should take their teleportation talent in consideration and with that power, Ciri still "won" the battle, she destroyed his staff and she escaped him. He lost because he didn't beat or catch Ciri, neither when she was fighting or laying on ground after explosion.
Carantir is really a strong mage with an unmatched talent (only beside Ciri), but not so so so powerful, people put him to a very high level, because he's the only mage of the Wild Hunt.
But He's definitely much less powerful than Avallach or Ida or other sages. As it's said in the game : the Aen Saevherne command not only an impressive knowledge of magic, but also -as implausible as it seems- a comprehension of other worlds, time, and space. These Sages form a separate caste among elven sorcerers, mysterious even to their brethren and greatly respected by all, including the most powerful among them. Many think "Aen Saevherne" - meaning Sage - is simply the Elder Speech term for sorcerer. Yet, to equate a Sage with a common practitioner of magic is akin to considering a newly-drafted private, hay sticking out of his breeches, a witcher's equal simply because both wield swords.
A Sage wields magic, true, and does so with greater skill than even the most accomplished human mages. The great renown and regard in which they are held, however, comes not from this skill but from the other, truly rare abilities they possess.
Nothing is a secret for an elven sage. They see both past and future as easily as the present. They have mastery over all the arcana of magic as well as every domain of scholarship." = this means that Caranthir which is not a sage is just as good as the most accomplished human mages. The two facts, 1) "These Sages form a separate caste among elven sorcerers, mysterious even to their brethren and greatly respected by all, including the most powerful among them." 2) "A Sage wields magic, true, and does so with greater skill than even the most accomplished human mages." put sages on a very high level, far from most powerful elven mages (like Caranthir, or Francesca) and equally far from most accomplished human mages. It's why after sages, we should compare mot powerful/accomplished elven mages to most powerful/accomplished human mages only one by one.
@@parvizallazov5194Overall, sages are more powerful but that doesn't necessarily mean that they can utilize their power in direct conflict(they may but it is not demonstrated) unless they specifically developed their talent that way like certain mages(Caranthir, Vilgefortz and Azar Javed).
They can cast powerful spells from a safer distance probably. They could develop themselves that way but if they aren't interested in that, then they probably didn't. They are less versatile but still far more powerful, that's all.
I actually completely agree on Avallach holding back against his brethren and them holding back against him. Eredin just punished him with a curse after he distracted them so Ciri could escape. I seriously doubt that Avallach would ever hurt Caranthir directly because of emotions considering everything you said. Still, he couldn't protect himself from a curse and it is never shown that he could defeat them without help. Maybe he could but it is not shown so we cannot make any claims. And yes sorcerers don't need weapons, i am just saying that it adds to their versatility if they can fight. It largely depends on the context...you see. For example Yenneffer is more powerful than Geralt but if she couldn't cast a powerful enough spell in time(they take time), Geralt would close the distance and kill her. There is a similiar scene with Philippa, altough she is weak and blind, at Djikstra's place when he pins her to the ground. He could have killed her easily right then and there because she was trying to hurt him. It doesn't mean Geralt is more powerful, it is just that he came up on top(literally) in that particular situation.
I agree that it is hard to compare talents but it is just my personal opinion that navigating between worlds requires greater channelling of magical energy to achieve because the world of Aen Elle elves has much more magical energy in it to begin with. That is why i believe that Aen Elle are simply better at it in general. Even common warriors like Eredin and Imlerith can use magic to a fairly advanced degree while human warriors can't. It is a specific talent but that talent requires a lot of power and magical potency.
If the roles were reversed and Caranthir was in the books and Vilgefortz in the games...Sapkowski would never allow cannonically for Geralt to be able to beat a high level mage in a fight, be it Caranthir or Vilgefortz. But if CD project Red put Vilgefortz in the game, they would make him into a boss fight which Geralt could win. You see the difference?
"Vilgefortz beat Geralt with his swordmanship and magic seperately." - No this is simply not true. Vilgefortz used his staff to fight Geralt on the first occassion(Caranthir also used his staff against Eskel as well). He also used magic to enhance his speed and strength as well as mind reading to anticipate Geralt's moves. He would never be able to beat Geralt in a fair fight and the very fact that he used magic to such a large degree shows you that. On the second occassion he was casting smaller spell and Geralt and Yenneffer were running from him until he overpowered Yenneffer and Regis showed up. Then they fought like the first time because Vilgefortz was too arrogant and wanted to beat Geralt in combat again instead of finishing him off with a spell. Vilgy was winning until Geralt tricked him and it was only because his vision was blurred because of blow to the face from Regis which allowed Geralt to use an illusion with his amulet. Vilgefortz had above average close combat skills because he was a mercenary once and he had experience. But he is not on par with a witcher skill wise without the large help of magic. Caranthir is explicitly shown to be almost on par with a witcher which he also beat by using magic( teleportation) but much less than Vilgefortz.
Regis is shown to be impervious to fire but to regular fire, not powerful spells based on fire. I am not taking anything away from Vilgefortz. It was an unusually strong spell. I am just saying that a lot of mages could defeat a higher vampire, maybe in this manner, maybe in some other manner because again, vampires are not resistant to magic...We could make the case for elder vampires but not the rest. Regis surprised Vilgefortz, wounded him and had a chance to actually kill him but hesitated in the last moment which gave Vilgefortz time to react.
Unseen elder is untouchable probably....We just don't see the extent of his power. He just kills Geralt and controls other vampires which is natural considering that he is an alpha. We don't know how he would fare against powerful magic from most powerful characters like Ida, Avallach, Ciri in full potential...But i am still on the side of the elder, just not completely sure. O dimm is largely implied to be completely different. He even calls regular magic childish hocus pocus, mocking it...he is poweful but on a completely different level.Like a god.
I largely disagree with your take on battle between Geralt and Caranthir. Geralt did not fight him in his mighty form. Troughout the duration of the fight Caranthir was holding his stomach from when Ciri slashed him and wounded him. He also took damage from the blast, probably stunted. His main weapon, (his staff) was destroyed. That is like you taking away swords from Geralt and letting him fight with his bare hands. Caranthir did not fight Geralt the same way he fought Ciri and Eskel because he couldn't. His staff is very important because he is using it to channel his most powerful spells which could stop Geralt in his tracks( which they did twice). If Geralt fought Caranthir in his mighty form in an open field like that, there wouldn't even be a fight because Geralt would be frozen solid ( which he was twice) and Caranthir would finish him off. Even then Caranthir would be dangerous in close combat if he wasn't badly wounded which reduced his mobility. Caranthir could easily maintain distance if he wanted to and unleash his frost magic upon Geralt. He could defeat him in other ways as well as shown at the end of the fight by teleporting him at the bottom of the ocean or in the sky. Ciri defeated him in his frost spell because she had a protective aura from the elder blood and Eskel was protected by Yenneffer. Caranthir could probably end Eskel with some spell but he didn't because he wanted to fight him directly and was toying with him. Without his staff, Caranthir was able to use only his minimalistic spells to fight Geralt which were still rather strong if you get hit by them. They never made it seem that way, but they could have easily make the fight with Caranthir just him and Geralt from start to finish. But....it took both Ciri and Geralt to defeat him. Ciri against him in his mighty form and Geralt against him in his weaker form.
Caranthir didn't catch Ciri but she wasn' t able to continue to finish him off herself. You could say that she won in some way because she achieved her goal of destroying his weapon and weakening him as well as humiliating him i might add...But she didn't defeated him per se. Because she did not deal the killing blow. Maybe she could in some other encounter but not in this one.
This video never claimed that Caranthir is the most powerful. He said ARGUABLY the best magic user. He even said that his fight was dissapointingly easy FOR HIM. I basically said that he is more poweful than most but what i meant is that his feats are generally among the most impressive. With some digging...i agree that there are characters more poweful than him but i just don't agree that SOME of the characters you mentioned are more poweful than him like Vilgefortz and Philippa because Geralt could beat them too if they were boss fights without Ciri's help probably.
I thought you already did this one
I covered the wild hunt guild, but this video is just for caranthir and covers him in much more detail.
Okay
Ewan mitchel should play caranthir
Have you tried the Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition mod?? It is actually really fun to experience new game mechanics and increased difficulty since the game itself even in deathmarch diffuculty is easy. If you haven't I suggest you do give it a shot.
I'll give it a look!
Bill Plays The game updates itself, right? I mean, a few months ago I started the game after haven't been playing it for months, and it started lagging, I restarted my laptop and restarted the game and it just updated itself. I couldn't start NG+ because it had to load on an old game save from regular difficulty. 200 hours worth of playing gone. But the game does seem different. I still can't tell which, what, and how. Some quests became too easy, some more difficult. But I've never been able to kill a city guard before, even at high level. And I'm talking about guards that happens to chase us if we wreck havoc around town and/or steal stuff right in front of them.Their health bar used to be ridiculously high. I can only hit them so much and their health bar doesn't even decrease.
Well yeah, there have been a few patches, but I haven't experienced any saves loss thus far. So it has to be either a bug or you have accidentally deleted the saves folder. Either way you could download a finished save so you can start a NG+ or you can use the debug mod and give yourself the items you want.
Bill Plays No, I don't think i deleted my saved game. The game itself had given the warning about the old saved game would not be compatible with the new Enhanced Edition. There was a notification in it. It sure feels smoother though, comsidering I'm playing with quite a low spec. I could probably still access the old saved ones (I've finished like 5 or 6 times), but I couldn't access NG+ from there.
Abdillah Azhar Oh I thought you were talking about the vanilla game. As far as Enhanced Edition is concerned it requires a fresh start and is not compatible with other game saves. If you had read the description of the mod you would have known.
I wonder why they didn’t make Caranthir a Gwent card
Caranthir is similar to the Altmer from the elder scrolls. Selective breeding for "purity" and "supremacy".
I wish the Witcher books would be read in schools as lectures
We can only dream...
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT OFIER
sure good idea!
whats the song in the backgrund ?
caranthir's theme!
Thank you very much, I just love the music in the witcher games
Eredin was nothing without Imlerith and especially Caranthir. It's pretty sick how this is shown in the game. Take away his left and right hands... What is he after that?
Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist. aha
All that armor only to die
