Beautifully done! The stitched patterns are stunning. I'm making a quilted petticoat from a $2 thrifted quilted blanket.

Very pretty! I think Elsa would totally wear a skirt like that if she could. It’s also interesting how you reduced bulk at the waist by sewing down the pleats. Most quilted petticoats I have studied just don’t put batting in the top six-ish inches or are connected to a yoke, but sewing the pleats down looks like it worked quite well. That’ll probably help keep you warmer as well, so that’s an idea I definitely want to try out 👍🏻

thanks for the insight! this was the first quilted petticoat that I have ever made and the whole process was a lot of trouble shooting and guessing games 😂 but in the end I think it gets the job done!!

This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for! Thank you so much!
Also, I LOVE the geommet idea. I was wondering how to add ties/a waistband on when the quilted material is so heavy, and you solved the problem with ease. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Glad I could help!! I can’t remember if I used glue on the grommets for this project, but I recommend putting a little E6000 glue inbetween the grommets before you press them together, just helps add to the hold and security!

It's very pretty. After looking at you trying the dress on over it and you not liking how it? Looked I suggest that you extend the pleats down more creating a dropped waist look that will decrease the amount of bulk around your waist and hips creating a smoother look with the dress on.

This is absolutely brilliant! I'm a quilter and I think you did an amazing job, especially for your first time straight line quilting and free motion quilting!!! One tip i want to share is that your machine probably came with a seam guide that attaches to your presser foot so that you don't have to rule all the lines. It would look like an L shape with one arm of the L a little bent. You rule the first line and then you use the guide to line up the rest! It saves heaps of time and is way easier! Also yes, if you throw it into the wash the fabric will shrink slightly and you will get a crinkle effect all over the fabric! Some quilters love the crinkle and some hate it so it's up to you what you do! Can't wait to watch more of your videos!

I definitely need to look into getting a seam guide! I got my machine when I was 14 and me as a kid lost a lot of the functional attachments 😂 thanks for the tip! to be honest, I only drew a few lines on, and then I used the outside edge of my machine to guide while sewing the rest of the lines, but when I added more lines in between the original lines I just eyeballed them and I know they got a little off 😂😅
