- This is a promotional trailer (called "PROMO6") that appeared on a late pre-release demo disc of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. It's a modified version of the two E3 trailers combined, but it also has some more beta content, and is in much higher quality.
I've uploaded it here because of its rarity - I don't think this video has appeared anywhere else on the Internet. I've also disabled ratings, because I didn't actually make this video.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex developed by Traveller's Tales in 2001 and ported by Eurocom in 2002.

There WAS an animated trailer for Crash 2 where Crash was literally talking throughout the trailer. Sounds like the same voice actor returned for this part as well.

Actually, here's a fun fact for everyone: I don't think any of the levels in this trailer are cut, different as they are. The only ones that I think may have been cut or replaced is the Compactor Reactor-like level at 1:42 and the Warp Room at 1:49. The rest of them do appear in the final game (though very different, of course).
No in fact at 1:42 it is the end of Compactor Reactor, just after the last piston and the three crates in the void, but yeah you're right otherwise. Thanks for this precious video!
People hate it, but I thought it was actually pretty good. Not as well tuned, sure, but still pretty good, & even ambitious. Weird that the 2nd boss was hardest

Crash Bandicoot 3.5: The Wrath of Cortex is a good game. This trailer is very cool.
Which they gave us the finished product, even if it was just more vehicle levels, it still would of been nice to see all the cut levels, there's a lot of video's on twinsaintys cut content but almost none on the wrath of cortex which makes it hard to see which levels were cut, a real shame.

***** Most of the viewers of this video are likely to be fans of TWoC - that's generally how they find the video to begin with. =) While I feel it could have been better in many aspects, I have to commend the developers for their attempts to keep faithful to Naughty Dog's spirit, especially considering they had only one year to do it! And they did, essentially, go on to create Twinsanity - that wouldn't have happened if this game wasn't made =>
Also, kill me, but I liked MoM and CoTT as well. MoM especially, because it felt like the developers were finally getting used to their vision of Crash, and were making a game that *wasn't* completely different in style to the previous one! We hadn't had that since Warped.
For Radical's next game (2010), there were actually members of the fan community contributing to the game design, so I'm pretty sure he was in good hands. But then Activision happened. =(

Where did you find those high defenition Beta footages? do you have like a Vivendi press disc?
Nope, no fancy press discs except the demo disc I pulled this video from. ;) I'm not sure what footage in specific you mean but they were all in public areas. One of them was on GameSpot and I'm not even sure if I'm the one who submitted that video to CM. =P

Hmm that looks like it just came from a gaming site (computerandvideogames which doesn't seem to exist anymore). I didn't contribute that picture but did contribute what was happening in the picture: before I confirmed it, we weren't even sure if the level was Crash and Burn. =)

I would still willingly call this Crash 4, even if one with the 4 prefix does exist. Wrath of Cortex must've happened just after it.

So many things from trailer are unused in the game. The only thing I want is a remake of this game with the same physics and all the cut content.
At 0:41 you can see that the whumpa counter is green where as in the other trailer it is orenge. Also at 0:45 crash looks like hes doing his run in the final version and you can hear the making a noise like a donkey insted of being mute.

The best thing about this game is Mr.Krabs as Neo Cortex and Uka Uka. He did a great job!
He also voiced him in the previous games, his Warped voice is the best one but it sounds off in WOC tbh

The video was a .PSS file, so I googled a program that can convert them. I think it was called something like "PSS Splitter". After that I converted it into .WMV.
(But sorry if you thought I made the video by myself - I didn't.)

this game is my favourite game ever its my favourite because its got awesome graphics that i love so much its an awesome game its got the best music they are awesome and the levels are a legend the bosses are hard but who cares its awesome this game is a bloody LEGEND

That is Crunch, Crash's newest opponent (basically the only one, though the old ones get small appearances in some levels D: ) In one of the extra levels, Crash has to race him in a mining cart. That's what you saw.

The character models are terrible but it could have looked way better if it just had better animations :(

I enjoyed this game just as much as Crash 1-3. I grew up with all four of those games and I was never able to pick a favourite. I had this on Xbox so I never had to experience the bad loading times, which is probably why people hate it so much. It's a fun game on Xbox (or Gamecube).

Hi, I haven't really thought of a good way to do that, since it's just a random gorilla to most people. =P I think, though, that one of UA-cam user CrashFreak's videos features the gorilla somewhere, although that was a long time ago.
Truth is, I'm a terribly slow uploader, so it'll be a while before I feel ready to show any of my non-Spyro-related findings. Sorry =X

Ah- the BD/BH extractor. I've just added a link in the description. =) Just to be clear though, it doesn't help with opening the files; it just extracts and/or recompiles them.
@ToonReel001 It's hard to tell. At an early stage they were thinking about those new concepts, but something clearly stopped them in their tracks. They might have indeed wanted to avoid breaking the Crash formula, or perhaps they simply didn't have enough time to find a way to do it right... and polish it as well.

Those levels are all very mysterious, but if you asked me, I'd want to play the beta Crash and Burn. It's such a special level: it's in the original pitch, it had a story, and screenshots of it are even hidden in the game's opening (on the VR room's computer monitors).
Argh, I thought I was finished with this game! Now you're making me want to look for betas all over again. =P

Thanks! But this isn't actually on GameSpot (if that's what you mean). This version of the trailer has a much higher resolution, and quite a lot of different footage from 0:42 onwards.
It also doesn't show the player using the Lift Player cheat... twice!

It's part of the small islands on Crash and Burn. Unfortunately, all three of the them crashed and burned during the development cycle =(

Universal and Naughty Dog should have kept the rights to this game, and then this game would have been as good or just about as good as Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped. :D
+thenasterchief1 Universal is the ones who own it. Naughty Dog never really owned the rights to it. That's why Naughty Dog had to drop it after CTR: Their contract had expired and they wanted to break out from being a part of Universal Studios to become a true third party developer. Doing so, however, mean they lost Crash Bandicoot to Universal. Universal was sucked into Radical Entertainment, Radical Entertainment was sucked into Activision, Activision only cares about money. And thus, Crash died and the two games they were coming out with for him at the time(Crash Landed and a new kart racing game based on it) were tossed out. Though I hear they did recycle the kart racing engine..........for a Shrek game.

Ninetails2000 than in 2017,he's back for the remastered version of the original three games for the PS4 than port to other consoles a year later (I got the switch port and I beat all three games) and there's a rumor that vicarious visions is interested on a new crash game which might be released next year with people speculate to be crash team racing remaster or crash twinsanity remaster (which I'm very looking forward to a new crash game or a remaster on any of those two games)
All this stuff would be great in the final game but nope :(

@ToonReel001 Which animations are you referring to? There are some warp room animations that were never used (why they didn't implement them, I don't know), but that's all I found. Are there any others in specific?
CNK had some help with its art style as Charles Zembillas was involved. ND is an AAA company, though, and to be honest I wouldn't expect TT to be able to replicate their sort of quality. Still, I think they'd have done better if they had more time. I blame Universal for this.
For being a new dev, this was a pretty decent game! Just really hard.....

@yo10057 1:32 is Medieval Madness. Some of the previous games' bosses appear in those levels.
Also, atomickid was talking about this game, not necessarily the ones after this. In this game you die in one shot, and the graphics and Crash look pretty much as they did in the original games. =P (Save for a higher resolution.)
Game that got me into crash games...Still idk why people hate this..i have played since the first crash came out and i think this isnt trash..
As someone who is indifferent on this game I think I can point out why:
- Let's get the most obvious criticism out of the way: the game doesn't look that good. This game was rushed so and therefore doesn't seem as appealing as the original trilogy or any game that came out on the systems it was release prior. (E.g. Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy came out in the same year.)
- The loading times. From what I've heard, the PS2 version had the worst loading times sometimes clocking in at around 30 seconds. The Gamecube, XBOX and PS2 Platinum/Greatest Hits version all had mildly better loading times. The extensive times were another outcome of the game being hastily rushed.
- Coco's playable debut wasn't as people had hoped. She was a mildly clunkier version of Crash with less available power-ups as Coco only utilised the sprint and super-slam abilities.
- Too many vehicles and vehicle segments. Crash 3, as far as I'm aware had 8 vehicles Wrath of Cortex had at least 12 (Plane, Minecart, Submarine, Handcar, Jeep, Jetpack, Atlasphere, Coco's scooter, Coco's snowboard, Coco's spaceship, Mech suit, AND Firefly Plane) The problems with this is that this is supposed to be a platformer series. Platformer games don't need more than 10 vehicles, most of which appear only once in the 25 main levels of the game. It doesn't help that most vehicles control terribly. For instance the Firefly Plane's only method of combat is missiles which sounds good at first, but if you wanted to attack you had to wait for the cross-hairs to lock on to whatever you were shooting, but because you're constantly moving and can't keep still you can potentially crash and restart the level over. Leading to my final point:
- Poor game design. The vehicle,s while most of them were only used once there was at least one vehicle in at least 17 of the main levels, 4 of the bonus levels and 3 of the boss fights, that's 24/35 levels in the entire game that have vehicle segments. (Once again the Crash franchise is a platformer series). Onto the actual levels you can complete the level "Ghost Town" without laying a finger on the controller, "Sea Shell Shenanigans" and "Coral Canyon" had annoying enemies that appeared out of nowhere, not giving you enough time to react and restart from your last chackpoint if you don't have an Aku Aku mask at hand, "Knight Time" is only dark to mask the fact that it is the same as "The Gauntlet" except you play as Coco, enemies from Crash 3 are reused but only as easy-to-avoid obstacles in the Atlasphere stages, levels like "Gold Rush", "Crate Balls of Fire" and "Droid Void" had monkeybar sections more slow and tedious that Tomb Raider: Chronicles' tight-rope walking, and the list goes on and on and on.
Note that I'm perfectly fine with you liking this game, I'm not trying to force you to change your mind or anything, just explaining some things that's all. :-)

Ah, it's not exactly a level 'designer' since it can only edit crates, wumpa, enemies, etc. It's still quite handy though. I've put a temporary link to the codes in the description. =)

Er, sorry, but I don't have a Spyro 3 beta - if I did I'd already be uploading videos of it! I'm still on the lookout for one, but there's nothing yet. Can I ask who said that?
