- In this video, an elegant rotational mechanics problem is covered. This problem utilizes several concepts including conservation of momentum, conservation of angular momentum, and lastly conservation of energy. Lastly, a bit of geometry involving the centroid, medians, and center of mass is used. The problem is extremely fun to solve.
This problem is from EuPhO 2018/1, the European Physics Olympiad 2018. This is similar to many problems found in olympiads like the united states physics olympiad, though quite a bit more difficult than the F=ma competition/exam. It is still relevant because it is an excellent problem
If you compete in math competitions like the AMCs or AIME, this problem might be well suited to you because it uses geometry!
Never ever stop making mechanincs problems vids man they are so damn good and mechanics is ofcourse one THE best things in physics
Your videos are amazing, plz never stop. Made me love the subject❤️ although i am still a noobie in it😭, I'll try to be better🔥
Thanks! I'll always continue if there's continual demand :)
Very nice problem!
Thank you! You can see the sources listed for many more nice ones :)
I don't quite understand how is the angle q constant if the question says it changes effortlessly???
How do you know that BG = 2/3 BD?
They should make you a professor on khan academy
Will you make him a professor at DBCIT

How can rods be massless? Question is invalid! EuPho Problem 1 was a scam
Lol thank you very much Anthony.
Anthony your rod down south of the border is massless
@@stig7403 Steven your rod down south of the border is lengthless.
@@anthonyhe7679 dude that was heavy
its an assumption to make calculations simpler.. its the reason why strings and springs are assumed massless
