So, an '95 Ranger is 2900 pounds, and a '21 Ranger is 4100 pounds. The '95 had 112 horsepower and 135 pounds of torque brand new while the '21 has 270 horsepower and 310 pounds of torque, at least when its electronics are still functioning. The 2021 Ranger is somewhat prone to entering Limp Mode the moment an engine sensor starts reading signals that are considered abnormal, so a good brake-check would cause it to loose most of its power if he's going a bit fast, otherwise cracking the radiator will put it on a countdown until it goes into Limp Mode. Man, modern cars are such party-poopers, they won't even let you keep having fun XD

My grandfather bought a 70s ranger as a snowplow/firewood truck, 351w, 4 speed, sat with the same presence that my 3/4 ton diesel dodge on 33s does, and he drove the wheels off that thing. Unreal how durable that truck was. I'm not convinced that the new ranger is gonna survive even without people targeting it. Guess we'll see.
I'm still waiting for the Mike Patey snap fit carbon fibre roof for Leroy that just snap fits around the cage and can be removed at the track, rather than cardboard roofs lol
Leroy is no longer going to be a drag and drive car, just a records focused stick car. Would like to see how Mike Patey could improve flow over the car while still keeping it an exo-cage!

Had one with a 93 octane LMS tune on it. It was a blast to drive. Sold it back to the dealer and made money after driving it for 7k miles. great truck, would buy again.

@@davidjessee7701 Leroy is stick. They removed the torque tube and went to a conventional drive shaft as that and the IRS was the weak link.

The blow off valve goes to a muffler next to the turbo.... unhook the blowoff valve hose and put a screw driver so no vacuum leak. Sounds amazing.

I build those rangers. I did the ac lines on that engine it's a 2.3 4 cylinder turbo making 300 hp.
Everyone drives super fast drag cars but they geeked out over a stock turbo 4cyl ranger. Love it.
