You should feel shorted every time you hear “we know what you want. Here’s ten subpar variations.
I never was one of those "I gotta have blue Hordak" or "I gotta have Filmation Hordak". So I was never really upset over things. But due to my rose colored nostalgia glasses I had to pick up Masterverse Blue Hordak.

It wouldn't be a "fandom" if there weren't always bitter complaints, vicious accusations, and dire threats for every single release! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Personally, I liked this version of Hordak, and the tribute to Lou Scheimer on the mailer box was a nice touch. I wanted a blue variant, and I preferred the more "realistic" Classics style over the animated-style figures, anyway. But I'm also happy for the people who got their Club Grayskull version a couple years later, too. Happily, I was able to get the Opening Treasure Chest Imp for about ten bucks off BBTS, however that worked out. I know it cropped up after you left Mattel, but do you have any idea how that DID work out, by the way? Not complaining -- just curious.
I think for the 2002 version there's some unused lore behind Hordak's original body being blue. For some reason he had to reconstruct a new body out of stone (thus the grey version). If you notice in the Power of Grayskull episode his body disintegrated when the Power Sword was used against him.
Yeah, I was about to comment that the Super7 version wasn't exactly the same as the SDCC version for that reason, so the exclusive version is technically still exclusive.
Also Pixel Dan's book "The Toys of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe", which is AMAZING, unfortunately has an image of the non-hinged chest for both Hordaks. The image on page 502 should be the hinged version. I believe this will be corrected if/when they do a second printing.

(If you're buying a toy as a financial investment, you're a fool.) With that convention-exclusive Gleek, if I had wanted to collect Superfriends action figures and then learned that I couldn't get Gleek because I wasn't able to go to a convention and didn't want to pay a scalper, I would just say "f*ck it" and not buy any of the toys from that line. Why would someone buy the Wonder Twins if they could never get their Space Monkey? The exclusive should've been something like Zan as a bucket of water or Jayna as an animal, not one of the main characters. They could've just had a regular retail Gleek and then repainted him and said it was Jayna transformed into a monkey.

Still count the OG grey (gray) Hordak and the Jelly Belly Spirit as two of my favourite MOTUC figures. As a long time GWAR fan, I’ve always loved the (probably unintentional) Oderus Urungus visual similarity in the face-sculpt - though maybe I’m the only one who sees that haha
I ended up with the treasure chest because BBTS had it and a bunch of other rare MOTUC stuff on sale a few years ago. That is how I also got the Despara figure

In his other videos he complains "this is not the right version of spot" and yet he did the same thing over and over in dcuc and motu. This philosophy is why small companies exist for collectors. The big boys shoot themselves in the foot and have disdain for their customers and call that culture ok.
Conversely, I've also seen customers threaten class-action lawsuits against big companies for not getting the character they wanted in the next wave, or personally slander a small company owner all over the social media because COVID caused manufacturing delays he couldn't do anything about, so it's no bloody wonder the companies have disdain for the customers.

I've almost never been able to make it to even the smallest local conventions, let alone fly three to eight time zones away (depending on where I'm living at the time) to go to SDCC or Bot-Con or Power-Con, or whatever. I think the "special prize" for going to those conventions should be GETTING TO GO to those conventions, and the experiences and memories you get from those conventions, and just make the toys for everyone. After all, the root word of exclusive is "exclude," and that always breeds resentment.

Yay, off to the secondary market and an extra lot of international shipping because someone thought it would generate "buzz". Gee, thanks. I have never understood this. You want me to give my money to other fans instead of to you? How is that good business?

The physical item is a fan creation. Making the 200x animated image the tomb of He-ro was established in the Mattel Motuc line
