i've been carrying my damier azur speedy bag for the past two years and never had issues of it getting dirty (i'm not even the type to take care of it and keep them clean either) or getting a color transfer.
I believe it's blue, actually. After all, "damier azur" is French for "checkered blue".
Cassidy Osborn yes it is definitely blue, from far away it looks grey but when you look close up, you can tell it is blue

You prob don't remember because you have so many followers and comments, but way back in the day (I was under a diff youtube name then jackiete maybe? hmm,) I remember when you got the azur bag. And I remember I was snarky in a comment about "what about color transfer?" I feel terrible about that comment because since then, I am IN LOVE w/ azur. I sure came around towards the print and I had no idea it's so new. 2006. Wow! I have an azur speedy 30 for a few years now, had an azur nf mm, sold it, got the nf gm, sold it, rebought the nf mm (you know how that goes) and I have been using the mm non stop this summer. I love it. I got it preloved so the patina was already getting a nice honey color. I also have an azur cles. --- Yes it can get dirty quick but boy oh boy the azur print is sooooo dreamy. I love it. I would love to get the artsy in the azur was well. Oh and the petite noe. And I want a pochette too. hehe I want it all. Love azur. It might be my most favorite print. ;-) ~ Great video. ~ XOXO
I really liked this video! I had an azur cles but eventually sold it. Now I have an azur speedy. I think that the cles definitely got a a lot more dirty from the inside of my bags and the purse isn't getting as dirty, but I don't wear all black so maybe that's it! Just my two takes for anyone considering it :)
Very helpful video...New to really researching different Louis Vuitton bags and this confirmed Damier Azur is probably just not for me. I wear tons of black and denim as well and have a feeling anything in this color would just end up sitting around being afraid to really use it. Good to know before spending the money!

Maybe you should wipe down the items with a baby wipe? They will look better. I think they still look good, depends on whether you buy your bags to use or just to look at.

Love this video. You are always right on time when I need advice. I got my first DA piece a few weeks ago, a pochetteNM, what a coincidence!!!.. I love it and DA material has grown on me and now I'm on a search for a DA bag.. I absolutely love Damier Azur, I think it's a stunning print! I probably would use it in the winter only after the snow has fallen and wear some white, grey and hints of blue 😎
I have a gorgeous creamy white winter trench kinda like the one you have only a bit lighter definitely closer to the creamy beige checkers of the Azur. And gorgeous suede boots in grey. So yes if I had a DA bag I would totally wear it during the winter wonderland moments lol!!!

You keep saying dirty but if that's the case you can clean it. Has it yellowed from sun or actually just gotten dirty? again....dirt can be cleaned but yellowing would be different.
Yes know what you mean Jerusha with the Damier Azure but I still like it. I limit the pieces I buy.
I got the pochette nm in azur as my first azur starter piece :) It's such a shame cause I LOVE the azur canvas but just don't have the heart to actually buy it as I stay in the UK and it's constantly raining :(

I have found a clean white rubber (eraser) can even remove colour transfer and clean up white squares. As you say such a pretty print but high maintenance
A damier azur bag is on my dream wish list... but I am afraid about some of the things you mention!

Great review on the Azur pieces. I think they are beautiful when they are brand new, but I know that print is not for me. I don't want a piece that I am afraid to use. I have some purses and accessories that are fabric, but stop using them because they get dirty too easily. I now prefer mostly leather goods or canvas because you get more life out of them. I figure....you spend a lot of money for these bags, why not invest in something that will last and look good for a long time to come. What do you think?
Have you tried to apply a protective weather proof coating on any of these light coloured items when new? If so has that / do you think that would have maintained the colour for longer?
Loved this! Got my first LV piece in May after being a Chanel devotee, and it was the exact pochette shown here. It's been great for the summer months, and am really enjoying how much more durable it is than my delicate Chanel lambskin. Thanks for selling me on this brand :)

I absolutely love Damier Azure but I'm like you, I wear a lot of dark colors too. I was thinking Speedy B 25 or Pochette NM but I think I'll go with the Pochette NM. I don't want to invest a lot of money in the Azure canvas and I damage it, I'll be pissed to the 10 power 😂😂😂 Great video thanx
You should definitely check out the recent video posted by MakeupByTiffanyD if you love your Pochette but can't find a use for it (ua-cam.com/video/MybknJaSihk/v-deo.html) She recently bought a strap that transformed her Pochette into a gorgeous cross body bag!
Really interesting video and very true. I have used mine a by and the colour has changed but my SA said to wipe it over with a wipe (not done this yet as bit scared lol) I love the print very much but not sure I would buy anything more in that print as it does look discoloured when your walking around 😟

I loved this! I am the same. I only have a cles and a 5 year old 4 key holder (which I replaced with the multicolor thanks to you). I bought a Pochette NM in DA earlier this year but like you a few days later I freaked out at the white zipper and canvas and knew something was bound to happen. Returned that one right away! I just know I am a monogram or DE girl. I always spill coffee on me when I am wearing white, who knows what can happen with a white bag!

This is a really helpful video. In my personal opinion, DA is kind of a "special occasion" bag for a variety of reasons. 1) The wear and tear, color transfer, discoloration described here. 2) Not just dark patina, but rather dirty looking, especially with the handles will develop if you carry it frequently for years. There are some bags of eBay that really show this. and 3) I personally do not wear enough light colors to carry DA on a daily basis, it simply does not go with a lot of my clothes. The clothes it looks best with, IMO, are lighter wash jeans, whites, even reds as an accent. So....why do I have a DA NF? Because, for me it works really well as an occasional bag. I carry it a few times a year, and when I bring it out, it is so much fun, plus it is still pristine with a pale butter patina. In contrast, I have a DE NF that I carry constantly, both as a daily tote and an overnight bag, and it also looks fantastic. Not brand new like my DA, but really nice. It is a workhorse while the DA is the princess. Many people who spend money on LV want to be able to take it everywhere and wear it everywhere, just know that doing that with a DA will cause it to show age and wear and tear much earlier.

I love the monogram canvas, however, I'm not sure if it holds it's value as much as the damier azur, because after seeing it around a lot, it looks like it fades a lot. Do you notice this as well?

Another great video Jerusha! Watching ur unboxing of the siracusa made me want that bag! But I ended up getting the da Delightful instead. I've only used it a handful of times. It already came with a light patina.I too wear a lot of black and live in my jeans lol. I may ending up selling that beauty 😕
Thanks for the video and review. I purchased the Siracsa PM, beause I wanted one DA in my collection and because I had the option to shorten the bag if I am wearing denim or dark pants. I purchased it preloved but still stress over it a little when I carry it. Uuugh!

+Celita Guia I wear black ALL the time...it's just the color that looks the best on me but I will definitely be getting an azur handbag...and in fact will be getting it this week....there can only be color transfer if the dye has not been washed...otherwise you be getting black all over your leather seats in your car...on your light colored couch, etc....you will be fine...enjoy what you love...you only live once...

I feel the SLG's are worse than a purse.. because you handle them more, you dump them in bags.. I have a speedy Azur and a neverfull azur.. no issues, I don't use them in the rain, so in NYC we have pop up thunderstorms around 6pm in the summer, I throw a sweater over the handles.. lol... other than that I LOVE this print for summer!!! So fresh and cute! Plus not a lot of girls carry this print here in NYC so I feel a bit special haha...
