Once I had 80 bucks left and figured I would spin 3 times on a 25$ denom game. I spun twice and both small hits. I spin again and hit for 1000. I look closer at the machine and realize I was betting for 3 credits the whole time, so 75 a spin. I said holy crap and left with my money

But she stuck $100 bill in and hit 100 credit bet on a dollar machine thinking it was pennies. She won like $70 and couldn’t figure out why she couldn’t just hit re-bet. It’s all the money she brought so she was upset when I broke the news to her. Luckily she had $70 to cash out.
Few weeks prior on a digital roulette, and husband and wife were hitting in their number at $1 chips. Somehow it got switched to $25 for the last one. So the entire time the ball spinning they were upset and trying to figure out how the $25 bet got out there. Luckily, the number came in and they got over $900

You kept saying you don’t know how much it is. There’s an easy trick on dimes. Just drop the last number and that’s the round dollar amount. So, 19567 is $1,956 (and .70 cents) or put the decimal between the last and second to last number if you want exact, either way.
For nickels, drop the last number and divide by 2. So for the 19567 its half of 1956. You can get pretty close in your head. I’d call it 875 on the fly and 19567 x .05 is 978.35. So it will give you a decent idea quickly and easily.

For those who ask how does an experienced player make an accidental bet - I have seen lots of casinos that put high stakes machines on the main floor with no separation and I have seen them put identical games next to each other and when I was playing I moved to the machine next to the quarter machine I was playing and put a $20 in it, it wouldn't spin because it was a $25 machine.
