I left for Florida this morning. I'm from North Augusta SC. As I backed out the driveway, this song came on the Radio. I just started crying. Already can't wait to get back home.
That moment when you innocently go to listen to a country song you've never heard, and end up sobbing through it like a baby. Living in the middle of a crazy city on the other side of the world...so far away from the little Southern dirt road town I come from...with no idea when I will be back. This song really touched my heart. Never felt homesickness like this before. Tim McGraw, you did it again.
+Rivka S i understand, although i only moved 800 km away, i still understand, i had a great job, gf, nice place, great friends, but all i could think about was home, so i moved back, there's so much that life has to offer again and again, but it cant offer your family again, i think i made the right choice
Tim man, please stick to this kind of country. Only you can bring us back to the good days of country music. This song touched my heart only like good country can.
This reminded me of my best friend that moved. We always listen to this song while playing xbox. Lol reminded me of all the summers the winters. The camp fires the arguments we hade coming home from school together. Reminded me of everything. Almost made me cry
This song brings back so many memories. Me and my Nanny used the sing along to this when it came on the radio. And she passed away almost a year ago. And I miss her so much. 😔❤️
This song will be my husband and I when his mom passes. We're getting the house and land it sits on, and all I can do is hope I make my in-laws proud and raise my family like they did theirs, working cattle, loving the sunset, and slowing down to not miss life. Love you, Other Mama and Other Daddy.
I am always amazed at this young man's capability to write the music to the words that actually hit home........He seems always sad, and i wonder what hurt he is hiding. but your music is fun. ...........although sad. Thank you.
I can't listen to this song without bawling my eyes out. God, I miss home... I miss my mom and dad. I miss coming back home, my parents greeting me, treating me with the best food they can make, feeling unconditional love... I visit them twice every year - 3 weeks in August, 1 week in December. I'm not American, I'm Bulgarian, living in Germany for 12 years now. Served a year in the army after graduating school, moved, studied at a university, graduated, did some job hopping until I got the good paying 9-5 office job, company car and all the corporate benefits. I bought 2 of my dream cars and I'm miserable, I hate the town I live in, I hate the choices I've made. I hate myself. Money didn't fill the void... it just made me realize how empty my life was. I know what I gotta do now to get back home and find a good life there. I'm working on it, but it's not that easy. Gonna take me a year, year and a half, but I'm not giving up! Still, there are a few country songs that can toy with my emotions and reduce me to a crying boy.
😢😘i gave this song to my mom and dad. moved from fl to nj. so stuck on surviving up here you unbelievably miss even the simplest of things in the south. tin roofs and rain, easy going people, southern accents, real bbq, sweet iced tea, fields, horses, - most of all - stopping by un announced at Ma mas. Thanks for making this video w/ words. i feel like i personally know this song.
Ilene Petersen I moved out of my dads house about a year and a half ago and only live 20 minutes from him and I tell u what I miss it there so much I didn’t think I would miss dads house as much as I do I used to have so much fun on them back roads. Every time I come home from work I always think to my self home isn’t home anymore and that’s just how I feel I come home to my house and it just doesn’t feel like home when I’m on my way to my dads I always so I’m going home meaning to his house
My son danced with me at his wedding yesterday, to this. We're country folks so this is how we live. I miss him more than ever today but I've never been happier in my life.
I just discovered this song TODAY!! It was a question on my wheel of fortune game. I've been singing it all morning. Im realizing Blues and Country is very much similar.
I havent listened to this song since I was seven years old.... I'm seventeen and some months old now.... And my grandaddy Tuck passed away in August of 2022. Listening to this song today made me think back to all the good times I had with him... God almighty above how I miss seeing his face when I used to visit him and my nana. He was the one person who could calm me down just by hugging me. I'm bawling my eyes out like a toddler thinking of him now.... But at least he's not hurting anymore, he's probably up in heaven hunting with my uncles Shannon and Travis.😢😢😢😢😢😢
finally, a song on the radio that rings true to the country roots. I don't know what the hell has happened to country radio in the last few years, but there drifting farther and farther from being country music. at least there's one good new song on the radio,
This is one of the most emotional songs I've ever heard. It hits so many places. It made me think of my family in Ohio where things are so much simpler and crops are just on the other side of the road and that small town where you'd always be welcomed by familiar faces at old restaurants. I live in California now. You can hardly smile at anyone without being looked at funny.
Nathaniel Kiger I live in ohio like 2 miles down the road from Dayton, but I can drive for 15 minutes and have nothing but farm land, and nothing for miles, its nice not being here where theres a gunshot every 20 minutes
This song gives me goosebumps every time. I'm losing my house sometime within the next year or two and the last verse and chorus always get to me. Such a beautiful song!
Can’t describe how much I love this song... so simple, so true, so authentic... that’s makes me want to move to the US in a little mid west, western town where I could enjoy a simple coffee when I wake up and build my life there... one day I’ll be able to do it let’s hope 🌸
Tim has always said he's not a good songwriter. In fact 99% of his songs were written by others. But Tim (and Faith) sings and interprets all those amazing songs as coming from the deep of his heart and soul. By a thankful Italian fan!
What a lovely song... I didn't grow up in the US and migrated to US in my late 20s about 10 years ago so I was not very familiar with country songs here but when I first hear this song I was just blown away by its music, lyrics and of-course Tim McGraw. I could related to this song very much as I dream having everything this song says :)
Been trying to remember this song for so s Long didn't remember much about it just remember the way the music went without the vocals so glad I finally found it
This song reminds me of home. I grew up in the valley of oregon, on a farm and my husband and I had to move San Diego because he was stationed here. I miss my home
Listening to this in 2017 remembering times with my boyfriend on his farm in Texas and his family. Now I'm sitting up here in Minnesota wishing I was there again
Might be his best since "Where the Green Grass Grows"...well that whole album was great but this might top any of the songs on there. Thanks for posting.
FINALLY, a current song on Country Radio that reminds me why I listen to country music. A story telling, memory sparking, good feeling country song. Love this.
This song reminds me of when i live in a little town in Oklahoma, the wide open space, the slower life, everybody knew everybody, my Uncle Hubert out on the dozer clearing trees for a new plot for planting, fishing with my dad going after catfish, and walks with my grandma while she kept an eye out for water moccasins, i miss those days
Haven Marie A lil town called Tupelo. When i was on vacation in Cancun 2 years ago, I met a couple from Tupelo, we talked from morning till night, the placed hasnt changed from the way they described it, almost brought me to tears when we talked about the place.
Makes me think of going back to grandmas. Because I'm so young, that I stay with my mama. But when I go to grandmas house she always has the porch light on, always has supper, and my aunt keeps the fridge stocked up with beers. So it's honestly my childhood.
Can't stop listening to this sweet song! Reminds me of 4-H camp. No speeding cars, everyone knows everyone, listening to music with friends and relaxing, and stuff. And kinda where I lived, I live countryish. By that I mean in a country house (it's from 1879!!) and at camp they give you supper every night, like in the song.
I absolutely love this song, it is so nostalgic for me, and the fact that it has a dobro in it seals the deal for me. So happy that Tim has recorded a real country song again.
This song reminds me of being at my grandmother's house when i was younger, nothing like visiting every Sunday and smelling food in that kitchen, hearing that grandfather clock chime, picking blackberries, sitting on the swing underneath that oak tree, running barefoot through the summer grass catching fireflies, sledding down that hill in the winter when it snowed, the smell of wood burning in the stove. There is nothing on this earth better than that
I have to be honest Tim, lately I've been pretty disappointed in some of your new songs. Too much auto tune to mask your beautiful voice. But Tim I really love this new song. You're coming back buddy!
I live with my grandparents so it's amazing. Supper always on the stove and we have home cooked meals almost every day. There is always a ton of beer in the fridge. Hay fields around my house and cattle that the people near us own. In a everyone knows everyone little town life is easy and everything you will ever need is right at your finger tips
I lived in Missouri. Texas. And Oklahoma. Life seemed simpler. Texas bbq. Southern comfort and souther drawl. I’m from Massachusetts. Im moved back here and miss all my travels.
This song remind me of the town i live in... A little back town in South Dakota where everyone knows everyone... And no one goes past 5 miles an hour in town... Where you walk into you house and dinner is right there... I love it so much a d I hope it never changes💕

We need more country music like this today because the first time I heard this on the radio I cried. Brought back so many good memories.
My son danced with me at his wedding yesterday, to this.
We're country folks so this is how we live. I miss him more than ever today but I've never been happier in my life.
God may you be blessed
