Hello to the people of Tonga from the country of Kazakhstan! It was great to know much about Your people at EXPO 2017 in Astana! I fell in love with the song 😍🤗🤗🤩
This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. The first time I listened to this I cried for 30 minutes from the sheer emotion this song stirred in me. Tonga must have a fantastic culture. Greetings from Brazil; I will visit you one day.
Aww this is so nice of you to say this Come to Tonga anytime let us know don't need to spend money on Hotel. Food and bed is covered😄just get your own car rental!!! Lol 😆
Aw you’re so sweet. I’m so happy to hear this song means a lot to you. Even after hearing it my whole life it makes me so emotional still. Brazil is a beautiful country too. If you’re ever in Tonga let’s get a coffee together!
Listening to these songs reminds me of home (Vava'u) Growing up listening to these every night played on Letio Tonga between 11-12pm. My son is 10years old born oversease and Fiuva-o-Fangatapu is his favourite music to listen to...timeless and priceless piece of Tongan history...Thank you for uploading them❤
This is so beautiful and reminds me of my time as a volunteer at Queen Salote College. I would love to sing it in Tongan. Would you mind sending me the lyrics please. Thanks a million, I will share the song when I've made a version of it. Lewis x

This is a really bad translation - it is much more poetic and beautiful in Tongan. Also some words can't be translated. Just a little insight into what it might be saying. roughly talking about a heart that is riddled and burdened with sorrow, trying hard to find the road to relief from this pain so until they can find this relief - they're going to announce it or call out to the world. The chorus talks about their special flower (gardenia?) being the most important to them, it is the root of their wilting love. Their mind is unsettled, leiola mai (communicate to me?) where you are. 2nd verse: They will call out to the openness(?) and have it carried by the winds(atmosphere?) so that some of their words can reach their love. 3rd verse: The manusiu (a bird) will tell when it wakes in the morning something about mystery of interaction and stuff.
MeleNimzoChristian Thank you, that was really good, it's a great song and the lyrics are really poetic, we can all relate to feelings like this, your layout of the verses makes me want to get a word for word translation to learn about this, it seems to reflect some things I've been experiencing lately, thanks again friend
Loto kuo kāvea tо̄fā he mamahi
Fiu kumi 'a e hala ki he vaikau'aki
Tautaufā pea lave ai ha 'amanaki
He maomaonganoa fai 'ete uiaki
Heart obsessed, dying of sorrow
Ever seeking the road to consolation
Groping in the case there is hope

Fano ai pea 'ikai tau ha me'a
'O fetu'u 'esiafi 'i he langi ho'o 'eva
I will call out through space to be carried on the air waves
As long as I render an audible utterance
Let it go forth though heard by no one
A falling star traversing the sky
Tala 'e he manusiu ake 'i he pongipongi
'Oku toi he kakala misiteli he feohi
Taukapa 'ete holi faifio si'a toli
Feluteni e mausa 'ilo e 'ofa mo'oni
Fishing birds rising in the morning reveal
The mystery of love that hides in the kakala
How I yearn to be among the chosen flowers
And in their mingled fragrances find true love

Muka ia mo e moto 'eku 'ofa mamaé

Can you tell me what the words mean in English please?
