Find it interesting that the main thing taken into account is the number of personnel and defence spending. There are a lot of countries who while are smaller numerically have a massive technological advantage over some of the lower ranked countries and have successfully shown combined arms operations

I've heard that a lot of Russias military spending is going into maintaining their nukes which they effectively can't use so the numbers alone don't mean much.
It really boils down to 3 things
1) tech-good weapons means more capability
2) military doctrine
3) training
Fortunately for the US, they are miles ahead in all 3 categories. Sheer number doesn’t really mean much (it does, but not as much as most think)
It would be difficult for india to maintain its position if it does not develop it's own private defense industry. The cold War had made the Indian defense dependent on US and USSR.
Yes and it has to be able to import those arms to 3rd world countries like Nigeria and Philipines cuz otherwise they won't be able to sustain themselves seeing that most arms are banned here

Yeah but as usual they will have to extend their supply lines like many countries do. The difference for someone like America is a much more extreme Air Force and navy for better supplying and better logistical strategies but to say that Russia is stopping at 50 miles is crazy.

As a disabled veteran I love my country USA but our military budget is more than the next 9 countries combined yet we have people that die because they can't afford medical care or go to college because it's about money not the betterment of our people

One thing we have learned is that attacking is much harder than defending. Also numbers on paper don't always equal equivalent military strength.
I served on the Destroyer the Nathan James during the pandemic. It was not easy and some issues did arise, but we overcome all!

India now has 2 deployed aircraft carriers (both 45000 tons), 2nd one (INS vikrant) is indigenously built. It also possess indigenous nuclear submarine that makes it a nuclear triad power. India also possess nuclear missiles that can hit not only the entire china but most of the Europe too.

As for Experience in dealing with artillery, Ukraine is kinda unique, it’s outgunned roughly 5 to 1, yet it still keeps going. Ukraine won’t have a big navy for a long time I think nor will it be able to project any power. But if you need a bunch of experienced, innovative, very tough, well trained and battle hardened folks to fight a conventional war on land you need look no further, In my opinion. And with an Air Force, attack helicopters and more modern vehicles, the general consensus will be “Don’t F’ with Ukraine” 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦.

You forgot to mention that Indian armed forces is an all volunteer force. Also has never had to implement conscription in its history. While the chinese and other higher tier nations mentioned in this list have ongoing conscription / forced service or will have to definitely implement conscription in case of major war.

Well, now we know, its not the budget but mostly the training of the commanding officers and ability to fight with combined units. and quality of the weapons as secondary point.
The UK SAS is an Army unit, not an RAF one. Minor detail. (The Special Boat Service - SBS - is part of the Navy and, by and large, a close second to the SAS as far as SF units are concerned)

@@sigmachadtrillioniare6372 Indeed Bro. It is misleading to believe that Russia and China have surpassed the US in missile technology (which is very thin in practice). The US has a long-term program that will deal with superhypersonic missiles as some call it, as well as producing an endless number of it. And let's not talk about robotic upgrades that they have for the next 20 years. I am a little biased because i study the US military more than any other, but i am 100% confident that in conventional warfare, the United States is pretty much unstoppable if it chooses to fully commit itself. China has a long road ahead to catch up.

That's why they are reluctant to fully ally with China, but the tide has shifted so much in China's favor, and with no Help from USA, probably Russia can't do much about it. Well they are preparing to defend themselves against Russia. Germany seems weak and France always surrenders. So it would probably up to Poland, Ukraine, UK, US to stop Russia. Maybe Spain, the Nordic Countries and Italy might be of use.

I never thought I would be saying this, as an American I've always thought that we spent way too much on the military compared to domestic issues.... But in light of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, I think it's time for us to boost the size of our standing army and our anti-submarine capabilities, we also need hypersonic missiles and countermeasures against them. We need to be ready to face Russia in the field in case they want to push into Estonia Latvia or Lithuania, all former Soviet states now a part of NATO

War is about scale of force not just being able to build something that can perform a certain capability.
Having the designs for a hypersonic missile is great and building prototypes is great but can it be manufactured at a scale that would enable it to become a force in a global industrial war.
Germany had jet fighters in WW2 but simply could not build enough of them to compete with thousands of aircraft in the sky. German also had tanks that were more capable than anything the Allies had but again could not produce them at scale. Germany also had missiles in WW2 but again could not manufacture them at scale. And this is all with Germany being one of the most advanced industrial countries on earth at the time.

And I doubt the US will run out of food easily, hence the US is also known for it's mass food industry.

These lists seem to be geared more towards ranking by numbers, rather than by strength (power), an equation that takes into account more variables than simply who has more troops, tanks, planes and ships, etc.
And none of the stats take into account the crews that operate them and replacement crews. As we have seen in Ukraine, Russia was okay while it had frontline troops fully trained to use but as their numbers dwindled the replacements have been shown to be quite frankly useless against even moderately trained Ukrainians. As the Ukrainians get access to more and more modern weapons etc and their training levels increase Russian troops are clearly going even further backwards and becoming easy targets. Russia would not even be in the top 5 based on performance in Ukraine if rankings were based on effectiveness.
China is untried so again its ranking is simply based on potential firepower and as Ukraine has shown that is greatly overstated.
Based on the conflict in Ukraine it is laughable that these ranking are taken seriously by anyone. These rankings are obviously over-estimating each nations actual capability in all spheres of combat based on the propaganda of each units alleged capability. Just look at the reality in Ukraine and the so-called capability these rankings make. Russian equipment and personnel have been found to be sub-standard and/or incapable of being used in the manner these rankings assume.

The UK’s Royal Navy has two carriers, each weighing more that the 3 preceding Invincible class carriers combined, and is the most powerful navy in Europe, demonstrating global force projection in CSG21 and currently holds the NATO flagship. Britains also recently purchased increased nukes from the US putting it on par with France in terms of numbers. The RAF is modern and growing with continuous deliveries of F35s and large scale investment in developing a sixth gen fighter. The army does leave some to be desired but is now receiving challenger 3 tanks and a new air defence system, and has proven its ability to be a rapidly deployable force
