I had a hard time seeing the doubbling on this 2004 nickel. It looked damaged. Please if you could do a video on spotting the subtle double die coins. Thanks Duane of Reno
I have this coin 2004 but the other side isn't a hands shake it likes a viking boat and there are two name of a person i think LEWIS & CLARK pls. Advise the value of this coin
I came across a 1976 proof nickel at a 2nd hand store yesterday.Got it for 50 cents. I looked at it under a 15x loupe and it is absolutely flawless.Always good to check those stores, yard sales etc
What would be the best way to go about getting my coins checked I have a whole roll of uncirculated in mint condition what would be my best option for getting upgraded and or selling them
If I was searching my nickels I'd probably/most likely miss this one. Zoomed in that close will be tough to tell if the letters are wider or just look bigger because your zoomed in. I guess you have to train your brain to see this type of error and have a great memory as to what the correct letter thickness is supposed to look like. Good video I'll check my stashes.
Thank you Blue you always inform me of great quality videos about things I'd see in the pickers guide but something that I wouldn't spot with the naked eye
You all might laugh. But I am still trying to learn allot of this stuff. So double die doesn't always mean that you can see two separate lines. It can also be thicker letters or numbers?
Is a 100 star bill with a 01234 numbers starting worth anything or two separately with the two five dollar bills are in printed in sequence one number no difference valued
If the die wasn't that far off, the double strike won't appear as severe as some others. In this case the only really difference is in the thickness of the letters of "In God We Trust" I find the "U" to be the easiest to see.
Great content, highly informative. May I ask what kind of doubled die is this? In reference to John Wexler's Nine Classifications of Doubled Dies. As a student of numismatics, this right here is my waterloo- hope you can share some of your knowledge sir on this matter. Thank you and more power to your channel.
A very popular coin back when it came out. I even have a set of those that are gold plated that we're given to me by Littleton Coin Company! Wouldn't it be cool if one of those was a DDO?
bigwo56 how are you I'm new at this coin rolling I would like to talk to others about the coins I find to see what they think if I find a coin that we all think need to be graded I have a number of the 2004 Nickel I will send a pic to Ken Potter to see what he think he will be able to give me some more insight on the coins Les. caseon777@gmail.com
My FIL passed 10 yrs ago. He collected coins. I found 2 unopened envelopes PA Mint First Day of Issue 2004 nickles. I have no way to see for sure if they are doubled, however, one may be.
Who would I contact in event I acquire this coin...the coin shops in this area low-ball you because they know they can. Are there certified websites to access ? Any information would be appreciated. thanks.
Hi, A Brand new Newbie here. Why is it that coin collectors and buyer's really don't look into the value of newer nickels dimes quarter's etc like the 2000's series n the 60's n 1970's series for errors and such? I went to a coin collector's show yesterday and they would even acknowledge the Louisiana purchase coin that you showed n displayed? Because I have two 2004-D nickels and they said that nothing even with a P stamp on isn't worth more than it's face value? Could you elaborate for me is to why they wouldn't acknowledge that particular coin whether it's D- or P- 2004? Thank you. ..
Do you always recommend getting your coins graded? Just asking cause I dont belong to any grading memberships and dont have the extra cash to spend on either a membership or to send them out to get graded
Thank you for the knowledge, I enjoy watching your videos the most. I’ve always collected coins and just threw them in a box, now that I’m home and disabled & 66 years old I’ve got some time on my hands I’ve taken down the old box have been going thru my old coins as I watch your videos. You’ve probably done a video this and I haven’t seen it yet but as I’m looking thru some of these old coins I’ve found lots of errors but I keep coming across coins that will have a word where every single letter is upright and bold but 1 letter will either be barely visible or you just can’t see it. Is that considered some kind of Manufacturing defect where it didn’t get stamped right or another kind of a flaw or just wear n tear. I’m new to this so I’m familiar with all the terminology yet but I’m sure there must be a term for it?
I've noticed more a lot more error on ALL Philadelphia minted coins! A good amount (about 80%) of my collection 1,5,10,25,50 cent and all dollars "Ike, Susan B, Sacagawea". I've also put a lot back into circulation (not enough error to my liking)!
I got the one with the boat...G in God is doubled...along with Liberty, date..the P looks as though it too has doubled..1st time for me looking at these nickels...except the buffalo..
I have 2004d, not p, but it has DDO & reverse, same marking errors as the p. So why is p more sought and of more value. PS., I got these from the mint with my statehood quarters, still in case MS
O K, I appreciate that note and it is nice to know they were made by incompetent EEOC candidates that got their jobs based on that. So now the US coins are all screwed up also. Not the rarity of a mistake in the past where it was just a few. All the Nickels are made like garbage along with all the coins from here on out in the US and not worth collecting.
I found a new error on a 2005 P bison nickel it is in his eye in the obverse looks like a cresent moon ...I have sent pics to Mr Ken Potter and have not heard back it has been about two weeks ...was wondering if I should get it graded first then attributed?? it is in uncirculated condition it was in a plastic wrapped roll from the bank ..only took 4 coins out and looked at them because I couldnt stand it any more have yet to search the rest of the roll because I think they are safer in the plastic ic roll at moment till I can get rest graded...any ideas what I should do?? can I send u pics and tell me what u think it is a beautiful coin and huge error in it!!
I have a 2004 S Louisiana Purchase Peace nikle that I believe is from a proof set that was put in circulation. Best part is every ketter and every number is doubled. Anyone else find a DD from San Francisco? Please help me out. 🇺🇲🤠
I have the 2004 d and the marks go the opposite way on the numbers what does that mean do you have any idea I mean that's exactly the same except for the the marks are the other way
Rudy Gonzalez collectors frown on cleaning coins and could take the value away completely. If anything, warm water and a little soap. Avoid anything abrasive that might scratch the surface of the coin. Good luck
I got one and it also has some other pretty cool errors on it as well. Wondering if it would be worth more because of the extra errors?
Thank you sir. I Have always kept these. So now I'm gonna cheery pick my own 2004 P Nickle' s. 😊
I had a hard time seeing the doubbling on this 2004 nickel. It looked damaged. Please if you could do a video on spotting the subtle double die coins. Thanks

Your videos are very informative. I’ve been watching for a long time. One of the most informative coin channels on UA-cam
Great video. I enjoy the way that you describe the details. You have a laid back style that works.
I have this coin 2004 but the other side isn't a hands shake it likes a viking boat and there are two name of a person i think LEWIS & CLARK pls. Advise the value of this coin
It is a 2004-D five cent nickel
I came across a 1976 proof nickel at a 2nd hand store yesterday.Got it for 50 cents. I looked at it under a 15x loupe and it is absolutely flawless.Always good to check those stores, yard sales etc
What if I have one with brown toning? Thank you for your help.

Thank you Blue you always inform me of great quality videos about things I'd see in the pickers guide but something that I wouldn't spot with the naked eye
I think ive found several penny, dime, nickle, quarter, half dollar, double dies? What to do with them? Especially 2015 dimes double dates

You all might laugh. But I am still trying to learn allot of this stuff. So double die doesn't always mean that you can see two separate lines. It can also be thicker letters or numbers?
David Terry yes it can the Doubled that showes two of something is A mager doubled Butt doubling can have THICK letters to

My FIL passed 10 yrs ago. He collected coins. I found 2 unopened envelopes PA Mint First Day of Issue 2004 nickles. I have no way to see for sure if they are doubled, however, one may be.

Thanks for the info. Ive got a 2006 nickel that looks like it was cut in half. But its not a trick coin. Any ideas?
I have one that appears to have a D on it..even though it is a double die I'm still going to get it checked out
Is there a 2004 DDR jefferson nickel? Handshake design?
Perhaps a comparison of the normal date would help
How do you add those red arrows to your videos?
Went to a flea market and got a whole roll of them non-circulated Zach same one you're talking about
Do you always recommend getting your coins graded? Just asking cause I dont belong to any grading memberships and dont have the extra cash to spend on either a membership or to send them out to get graded

Hi I have a 2004 d peace nickle missing it's clad layer on both sides is it worth anything
found a 2017 nickel roll with flaw underneath the 2 in date it looks like extra meddle it was on most all the nickels in roll?
It's called a cud. It's caused by the coin die breaking. Some are valuable. It all depends on how big the Cud is
hey, hey, just sold one today...yay...
Is the doubling on all four of the Jefferson nickel commemoratives?
Christian Autor no, that's what makes the ddo valuable.. Not too many in really good condition.
You mention on the Jefferson nickel double die a fair some of money what is a fair price as I have many of them I’m looking to sell
I've noticed more a lot more error on ALL Philadelphia minted coins! A good amount (about 80%) of my collection 1,5,10,25,50 cent and all dollars "Ike, Susan B, Sacagawea". I've also put a lot back into circulation (not enough error to my liking)!

I want to sell my collection coin but I don’t know how can you show me where thank.
I have 2004d, not p, but it has DDO & reverse, same marking errors as the p. So why is p more sought and of more value.
PS., I got these from the mint with my statehood quarters, still in case MS
I can't really see the doubling at all in the date
