Tia!! I remember you from guitar center!! You probably don’t remember me, but you helped me out on a good chunk of my gear purchases from there haha…. Anyways, thanks for the awesome breakdown! The balance of incredibly informative content and hilarious editing is on point 😂 excited for the next one!
I have both baritone and bass vi: I've ended gigging with the baritone more (sometimes in a trio with two), but use the bass vi a whole lot more recording.
A caveat people should be aware of with the Squier Bass VI if they’re interested in it: if you want to use it in the tuning it was intended to have, the strings are too thin for it to have enough tension on the low E string, so it’s very loose and floppy (it’s about the same gauge as the A string basses typically come with), and the nut slot isn’t cut wide enough for the .095 gauge string the Bass VI came with in the ‘60s and which you’ll find in string sets for it. Not a ton of work to fix in the grand scheme, but it’s an added cost and effort to consider. That’s bad for using it as a bass, but as a more affordable alternative to these guitars, some people do indeed use Bass VIs as baritones and that would be as simple as buying some baritone strings. Good to see some new, likable people in the gear UA-cam scene!
Damn, to get that rhythm circuit on a straight-up Bass VI: why did that never happen? Also, missed hearing the rhythm circuit on the jag baritone. Pretty please?
How did you get these two baris? Have you had them for a while? I am bummed I passed over buying that Squier for $400 at my local guitar store when it had sat on the floor for a while.
I got a Danelectro baritone a few years ago. Love it. It's a great place to start without dropping $$$. Looking forward to getting my hands on a Jag Baritone though.
Just subscribed recently. Good stuff. Since Fender doesn’t have any of these in production, I have been thinking about the Gretsch baritone with the hard tail. Have you tried one? That or the Reverend Descent but that has a pretty short scale length.
I don't have neither of them, but they both have an excellent rep. Check out The Bunn on UA-cam. He does exclusively baritone content and I believe he has videos on both the Reverend and the Gretsch.
toooo awesome! Baritones are so fun to play 🙌🏻🎶🎸 I tried a 1970s fender baritone, i regret not buying at the time, when i went back to finally buy it, the store owner had already sold it.
The other guitar player of o’brother had/has a silver blacktop baritone tele also I think (I have the same one). Dustin from thrice also used the sunburst one for a short period when they first reunited, before he had a custom baritone made. Those might run a little cheaper
@60CycleHum sent me here😊. I gotta say, you need to try the Gretsch baritone. No shop near me has them, but I love the sound of Gretsch guitars and it sounds killer in baritone form. I subscribed within the first 30 seconds of this video. Love your vibe and your honesty. Keep it up👍
Most of the lucky like myself that have the jazzmaster baritone for nearly 4 years it's still one of my top favorites I own. EDIT: I've used mine for my debut album as well. PS I was oblivious to the baritone's popularity until last November seeing how much its street price raised after discovering Loathe
your eyes do not deceive you, that is an Orange, Matamp, Sunn)), and a Model T if you look closely. We're saving the not-so working class gear reviews and rundowns for our Patreon content lol
Another nice vid guys, making me want to play my Dano baritone rather than selling it because I don't use it enough. The new Squier Paranormal bari's look sweet, especially the seafoam green 💚.
Thanks for doing this video. Could you comment on weight and comfort between these two models? I have had the Squier since they were released and love the sound but the 30” scale length and the weight have caused some pain issues for me. Curious if you feel the difference with the Jaguar being 28.5” scale length and whether it’s any lighter. Thanks again!
Uhhm not really digging the audio levels being all over the place, for a musician Im kinda picky about that sorta thing. I know its probably a boomer thing too but hey to each his own
i have the jag version there that you have( scratch and dent MF) and i changed the strings to a B to B it really just opened that guitar up it became my favorite...the scale was just to short to do that bass 6 thing...i just love you guys taste in gear
I’m only 15 seconds in, and the answer is yes. You should buy a baritone
Dude!!’ Your new studio is looking awesome!!! I’m glad that power conditioner came in handy!
Dude, owning a baritone is a must!! Theyre really fun! 🙌🏻🎸
The editing on this is blowing my mind. What is even happening? I love it.
Haha, yeah its making me dizzy
You were just here for the use of the word WiggleStick, be honest.
@@jeffleecust maybe that’s why youtube recommended it to me?
I love their style! It’s informative and so so funny, makes it feel personal in a way haha

baritones are great! The video editing is giving me a seizure. Seriously tho .the editing is very distracting, nigh unwatchable. Sry

Ryan @ 60 Cycle Hum sent me, another excellent recommendation. 😺
Same. Nice to see you here, Sassy😊

I have an Eastwood baritone. The frets needed polishing and it wasn't STELLAR work but I like that thing.
@@GetOffset Ive looked at those but just can’t get on with the looks of a side jack.

@@Intaminator I don’t think the bunn reviews baritones with a scale a short as the reverend descent
What kind of strings do you throw on thesee????
LOVE the trade-off for different hosts using different tones. adds a nice duality to this

That Jaguar is such a cool baritone. Also hard to come by. I got an Antigua Jazzmaster baritone. But would love to find one of those Jaguar Baritones
Yeah, I agree... Rarely see them anymore.
Super entertaining AND informative. Very nicely done. Subscribed!

yeah, and the rest of the video is pretty good too
I really want a baritone to double up guitar parts. Plus it has a great sound for lofi
