Why do people wear dark sun glasses when making official introduction of an important occasions such as iriji or Igbo day. Is it that people are ashamed, shy or just don’t know how to speak to audience. This is just out of class, tradition or fashion. Fashion is good, when applied in accordance with the occasion. Back in our days, people were thought to communicate in honesty with people without any hidden agendas are “eyeballs to eyeballs “. These days, the parents who are supposed to teach the children the Igbo traditions/cultures are the ones doing the opposite. Please if we say we are “Igbos” and we are proud of who we are; then we need to display that in “honesty” and with honesty in anything we do. In my opinion, covering eyes with dark sun glasses in occasions such as mentioned above is very inapproriate. Please let us be a good representation of who we belief we are. Peace✌️and love ♥️ (ndewonu).

We beseech the presence and blessiing of our ancestors in our gathering with the use of Kola. We use our language (Igbo) because they--not the kola nut--Do Not understand foreign language.
