      @@timwitherspoon1378 What you talk about with the extended front hand that Mayweather does. That is something that Andre Ward does as well and Ward says it was something he picked up from Larry Holmes. Tommy Hearns would also extend his front hand to stiff arm and blind his opponents so they wouldn't see the right hand. Neither Ward nor Mayweather rely on that most of the time though and switch their stance and position to give different looks.

    I call Rubberneck dissapating damage. I though it was turning a stiff jab into a grappling fender like Tommy hitman hearns. My first jiu jitsu move was from standing up, not the ground pulling down posture for gullotine choke and suicide throw. With the monkey grip and wide legs you fall backwards.

    • @VintageBassArchive
      @VintageBassArchive 2 роки тому

      I can press hard parts of my arm into shoulder traps and control posture. Then i choke by latching onto the head and dropping to the floor. Elongate my body then the choke gets TIGHT. The choke yanks their head down when you squat. The squat makes both fall and you land on your back, make urself taller on the ground to apply more choking
      So in other words i jam an elbow into the neck, make you hurt and feed your head into my armpit, wrap the arm and monkey grip with hands. Now you drop and wrap legs around, make urself taller to tighten the gullotine, OR i can do a jab, turn that jab into a tool for grappling and do the similar gullotine

      You can get hurt worse unless you relax and absorb a punch. Or prevent the punch from building up speed by intercepting

      Even backwards movement should be a trump card, right when you need to reduce impact float back full speed as the swing connects

    Love how defense focused you are! I think leaving the arm out there is known as "the long guard" in muay thai. I understand the concerns for elbow safety for sure, but maybe in muay thai they use lead leg teeps, or low kicks to make that sort of defense work. I WOULD LOVE IT if you review some of Lawrence Kenshin's work or collaborated with him. Ramsey Dewey is likely to know something about this as well.

    A lot of martial artists need to hear what you're teaching and learn to apply it in their systems. I see the formula like this:
    Traditional martial arts + boxing = pugilism (the dirty, brutal version). Daniel Mendoza style.
