What a great review. CyGor and Overt-Kill are like Spawn's henchmen/sidekicks in the comics currently. They don't really say or do anything, but when Spawn needs back-up he takes them with him. In addition, Violator and Clown are now two seperate characters, but they work together. I'm getting all of the Spawn stuff.
Its been speculated that the diaper piece was supposed to have been glued to a groove in the figure in the manufacturing process but wasn't. So if you manage to glue it correctly you can fix that godawful gap when you extend him.
I worked at toys r us in the early 90’s and I would get 10-15 people a day come in and ask if I had the original cygor in the back? I still have that figure mint in package
It looks nice, I'd say. But it's such a missed opportunity at the same time. Some additional finger/toe articulation would've gone a long way! What about some jaw articulation too? I mean, for the price, I wouldn't say it's impossible. I liked She-Spawn more.
In the last few months, Ive picked up two King Kongs and a Gorilla Grodd... Its a nice piece, but Im afraid I've had my fill of gorilla figures for a little while, lol. I feel like McFarlane may clearance him at 50% off during the next "12 days of deals" Christmas special, but if you've ever bought anything from his website, you know his shipping prices will quickly eat up any deal you thought you were gonna get. I've got She Spawn on preorder though, not gonna take the chance on missing that one!
I’m just now seeing this guy at my local target. I immediately was like I gotta get that. But at the $50 price tag made me wanna wait for a discount if that will possibly happen.
I got mine for $49 at GameStop .. he’s currently discounted on Amazon for $35, but I didn’t want to wait once I saw him in person .. he’s a great figure! I will say I still like the wal*mart exclusive “RAW10” CyGor the best .. that’s the best CyGor figure I’ve ever seen, hard to top that one imo
I was never into spawn comics i did have a couple figures in the 90's. The Mcfarlane Cygor looks way cooler. I have a few spawn figures if i pick up Cygor it will be the Mcfarlane Cygor. I have Angela from marvel comics figure i have her with my spawn figures loose because i consider Angela a spawn character. I know marvel comics acquired Angela to add to their roster in 2011 if i'm not mistaken. They made a couple changes i know of. In spawn she was an Angel warrior simply known as Angela in marvel she's known as Angela the hunter and a god from asgard. In Lady Sif's absence Angela leads the Valkyrie's.
IMO the Raw 10 Cygor blows this one out of the water. This one you can’t rear up without a GIANT break in the articulation. For $50 this figure is absolutely unacceptable
@@tronlorne9328 Again that’s my opinion. Obviously the sculpt on the newer one is amazing. Yes it has more articulation. However, that diaper and the GIANT GAP at the stomach is not ok for a $50 price point. If we keep accepting these things then these companies will never strive to get better.
More precisely, the "hairy, bipedal creature" is YOU, Kyle. Gorillas are far more quadrupedal than bipedal, as they still use all four of their limbs to walk. But if their species does manage to survive the Great Filter known as Humankind, evolution might eventually make them fully bipedal.
@@jonathandevereaux298 Never? Gorillas already display limited bipedal behaviors at this point in their evolution. With the passage of enough time, and habitation in the right environment, they could become a fully bipedal species.
He looks pretty cool, but I think I will go long game on this guy, but that might never happen. I still haven't seen Violator, Clown or even Gunslinger Spawn in store, so odds are, I won't see this guy either. Maybe BBTS or Amazon will post a deal.
The price point, lack of alt hands or feet, a horrible diaper design actually made it cancel this preorder. This figure wasn't taken seriously in the development process so I'm not giving them my money. The Raw 10 One will do for now.
I am so bummed bout this figure. Mcfarlane should have not use that diaper piece and no swappable hands or movable fingers. Was looking forward to this one but I'm gonna pass on it!!
Oh man I'm frustrated with both cygor figure. I wanted to buy for my child but review after review I don't understand why... 1. Raw 10 cygor like others from that line, have limited articulations so badly. I mean where is the logic to make such a big figure and limited articulations feature which make that unplayable for kids and for adults collectors too. Simply u should be able to pose them in dynamic way as much as u can, it's action figures but not in these 2 cases. The spawn cygor u review is with bad designed diaper. U didn't showed much how ridiculous it looks when u straight figure up. U see there a huge gap...it's not acceptable for that money. Even my 3yrs old kid would point that out cause believer or not, some kids at this age already staring at details and posing figured like my child. Cybernetic details screams to be articulated. Even if one cybernetic arm would be ridiculously well articulated it would be interesting. But it isn't plus it so damn hard to move joints at all. For me looks like it's badly designed or mold in fabrication proces but also at design level. Why so stiff, so hard.. Unfortunately I can't imagine my kid playing with it. I believe action figures shouldn't collect dust on the shelf, our kids should have fun with it. And than to place on the shelf with crazy dynamic pose... By the way, why for 50$ point prize we don't have as well a for example fluorescent paint details? Eyes, wires, or other parts glowing in dark. Why no any sound feature just stiff joints and barely articulated figure. It's huge figure where u have place to improve balance. U can't realease that figured and they off balance.

Some of you guys are nuts. This sculpt is amazing. The only real shame is the lack of articulated/removable hands.
Its been speculated that the diaper piece was supposed to have been glued to a groove in the figure in the manufacturing process but wasn't. So if you manage to glue it correctly you can fix that godawful gap when you extend him.
I made that post on the group yup u have to glue it onto the hip joint
I so happen to find this figure for a standard DC Multiverse 22$ today
I bought that same figure today at target 🎯

I ordered this big guy few days ago.
Very detailed, it certainly catches your eye in a display!

When are you going to open the angus young and slash figs. Im a huge fan of both of them
I’m about 50 figs behind
gotta disagree with you Kyle 🤣
that gorilla definitely has a silver back
really cool looking figure, loved spawn as a kid

Bi pedal enough to count for me.
Gorillas would never be bipedal, they're clearly not built for it.

Keep an eye on Gamestop too.
Amazon had mandarin spawn for 9 bucks it’s pretty cool
I've seen Clowns and Violators a bunch at the stores. Only seen one Gunslinger Spawn in the wild.
Any figure approaching or beyond $50 is an easy pass for me unfortunately. Looks badass though
Cool figure 4 sure!
Lools cool. Not familiar with this character though. I don't like the soft plastic. Over time looks like it will get dry and brittle.
