Could you sew the sleeves onto the dress before sewing the sleeves and the sides of the dress together? I have seen it done this way before and just wondering when I could or should do it this way.

I kick myself daily in the behind cause I keep putting off learning to sew. My kids want to learn as well. I told my son it was ok for him to sew and that men/boys, etc can learn to sew.
