James, I was wrong in my earlier comment about thickness. Here is the correct data for the KAS Sills in millimeters: the inner thickness is 1.55, length 1535, and the outer thickness is 1.57, length 1530. The outer fits inside the inner sill with both pieces flush on the blade-like bottom edges. The difference in inner v. out sill thickness must be the coating. My new KAS frame sections have a 2mm wall thickness. Once the frame was degreased & paint was scraped off the frame. I found small hairline crakes around the engine & wishbone mounts.
Thanks for that additional information! I measured the sill on the car and the length of the "outer" that I have from AH spares and they match, so it looks like I'll just need to trim the inner section. However, I'm still not quite sure which end to actually trim. The thickness looks like it is the same then between them. It does seem odd to me that the lower seams are not cut to equal lengths on the sills I have, so I'm not quite sure if it is something that will be fine with some trimming afterwards or if it will cause an issue later down the line. I may have to "mock" things up a bit to see what it all impacts.
I wasn't quite sure if it was original or not at first, but I've found it on a multitude of other 100-6. I suspect it may have only been installed if the car was equipped with the heater, which would also explain why it was only found on the right side. AH Spares has it listed as part number IBP147S.
@@JamesSorenson It appears you are correct, the car I am restoring did not have that support and I did not notice it on others cars I have used for reference. My chassis is painted but will have to add it and do some touch up, however PPG has discontinued the paint I used for the chassis, hopefully I have enough paint, at least it is hidden when finished. I used single stage for the chassis.
Subscribed! It was an easy decision 👍 will follow the progress

Probably used stick or flux core welder and didn't dolly/hammer it. 😊
The brace from the firewall to the inner fender is not factory, at least it’s not on my 59 100-6 at 18.30
