Great video. I've always read music on a treble clef, so learning the bass clef has been challenging for me, since I only picked up a bass last year. These days, most of my time is spent on the trumpet/cornet, so for now, I'm sticking to chord charts for the bass.
Wow, that's fantastic that you spare your time across different instruments! You must bring a lot of musicality in your play. Good luck with the chord charts!
I'm glad you defined sight reading correctly. Many people where I teach think sight reading and reading are the same thing, which they aren't. Reading music is a skill that many musicians don't have for many reasons, probably mostly because they learned how to play by ear.
That's interesting, because in the place where I am people usually call it correctly. I agree that all musicians don't have to sight read, but it's great to be able to!
I'm crashing this course to help my left hand on the piano. Very nice video, especially to look forward. Yikes. It's scary, but I know it will help later. I hope you're playin pain free. I never started playing the bass, even the 3/4 bass was too much for my shoulder. If you like I have a video with exercises to stabilize and strengthen the low back that takes 30 seconds a day. And since I'm quite the expert on shoulders, there are techniques for the arms and hands. Oh My Aching Bach.
Thanks for this!!!❤
You are very welcome! :)

@@khankann Agreed. Many of them can't do it so they don't really know what it is. Reading, sight reading, they don't see a difference.
I so look forward to your next videos
Yay! Stay tuned!
Very good advice! I thank you.🙏

Oh My Aching Bach.
Sure, please, show me that video! ❤️
6:50 The sheet music for "How Sweet it is (to be Loved by You) is annotated with the note "gangsta style." WTF?
Ah, just a rehearsal mark for me :) The conductor wanted that mood from the bass!
Thank you
My pleasure! :)
