I’ve been here since the rv days. Megan you have really grown into your own and seem way more comfortable in your skin. Mid 40’s look good on you!
I have been here for that long as well. Think Jude was 3 or 4 years old then.
Ascher really was active with the remodeling of the house. I’ve been really impressed as I’ve watched him mature and become a really self-actuated and hard working young man. I have really noted his transformation from child to man. Really, all the kids seem to be doing great.
I think letting your children learn independence skills is great for them. You are building their confidence and ability. I think you are great parents.
Teaching a child “how” to learn is vital. I agree, they don’t need to learn everything - they just need the skills to know how to learn something when situations present themselves.
Just want you to know that the "slow" pace that you're getting projects done in is just encouragement for all us diyers out here struggling to complete our projects and questioning ourselves about why it's taking so long. Seeing it happen IN REAL LIFE for someone else and knowing that some things just take time lets us know that we're doin' alright. ;)
I’ve been watching for years and I’m still amazed at what quality people you all are. I very much admire how you have raised such morally strong children. It has been a blessing watching you all grow. ❤

After a very tough day - you had me laughing at the fixing of Mike's eyebrows-LOL. You guys are the best. I have enjoyed your channel for a long time now - have loved you redoing and painting furniture - all your renovations - thrifting - your love for historical items - baking - your wit and humor, but especially your love of family. Thank you - I appreciate you! (I know, "how Cheesy" - but I mean it!)
Can’t believe Esther is already coming back! Time passes by so fast! I remember crying when watching the video of her leaving 😢
I grew up in rural Oregon on my grandparent's ranch and they raised the same kind of rabbits for meat, along with other livestock, chickens, guinea hens, dogs, cats! I had to help with chores so I fed and watered the rabbits daily in the cool cages my grandfather devised that hung from the barn rafters about 6 feet off the ground so they were safe from any would be predators, plus poop cleanup was easy because it just collected underneath the cages and we put a little hay down and just scoop with a shovel and toss in a wheelbarrow and take to the fields for fertilizer. The part I didn't like was the butchering, skinning, prepping to freeze them. 🥺
I do admire your family's efforts to be self sufficient and eat as healthy as possible. ❤

This was a very fun video. I always enjoy a Q&A anytime you want to do one. I've been watching since UA-cam suggested the tour of the French house you were staying in. It's been great seeing the kids grow and matrue and one by one get launched doing their own thing. I have loved the renovation videos too. Love it all!

The new James Herriot series (remake of All Creatures Great and Small) on Britbox is absolutely delightful if you do streaming you would love it.
I love that series so far! PBS usually ruins stuff by becoming too preachy, I may agree with them on many issues but I don’t want my fantasy story to be like going to liberal church. But ACGAS so far has been mild.
You guys are amazing, as a family and as a couple. Am certain there are times when the stresses get to one or both of you, no to mention the children. The fact that the two of you seeminly still stand united is amazing in and of itself, especially in this day and age. One gets the impression that over and above your faith, your relationship is based on many things including the fact, I am presuming, you are one the others best friend. My 3 kids are all in their 20’s and I am really enjoying this time in my life. They are all self sufficient but we still have a great bond and talk about everything. I am now enjoying more time with my husband

Longtime subscriber here (pretty much since the beginning) and I've always loved these sit downs with the two of you. Reminds me of when you guys used to do those pillow talk chats when you were living in the RV. Haha remember those? I loved those vids. I too have begun my sour dough making venture too! I didn’t pick it up during Covid like many people have, but finally took the plunge 5 months ago now. I haven’t looked back and can not believe what a lovely process it really is and HOW simple it is and what beautiful results and versatility in what can can be created. Im absolutely loving discovering and playing with all the things I can make with discard, including delicious home made, natural dog buscuits. Anyway, welcome to the wonderful world of sourdough , it’s certainly a rewarding process for the maker and all those that get to enjoy the fruits. Wow I tried to commit to creating/painting something little each day but unfortunately I really haven’t been able to fulfill this due to illhealth but I’ll try to continue this.
Thank you for acknowledging the fact that public school and sports etc dictates your time. I’m a single parent and have been for 18 years. My son finished school at the end of last year and the enormous relief that this part of our life is OVER I can not explain. I feel sooooooo free. Free financially, time free, planning free and so on. I just thought it was interesting that you mentioned this. Anyways I’m looking forward to sharing some of your sourdough successes. Thank you….. I am 72 and my family decided I need to learn calligraphy and for Christmas I received learning pens and instruction books. I have always had beautiful handwriting but changing it has been very difficult. Thanks for reminding me to just keep at it.

Please don’t apologize for raising rabbits for meat. How is their meat different from any other eating animal. My family is originally from Europe and it is quite normal to eat rabbit. Please do what’s right for your family, no apologies necessary.

I loved your pie month and thought about you Megan the other day, I watched a young man make a chicken pot pie and he only did a top crust which had grated sharp cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese in the dough. It looked delightful. I really look forward to the next visit to Q & A's. Thank you also for the remark that your children didn't do the sports thing....to many people, this is just the way you have to do. It is a ridiculous amount of money spent and many kids just wish they had time to be kids...explore the woods, swim in a pond, roller skate around the neighborhood, etc. Looking forward to the next video. Cant believe Esther has already been gone 17 months. it’ll be exciting when she returns and nice when Daniel comes home to see her! ( My youngest son is the same way. very busy away at school with intermural sports, work and classes and he’s going to be a pilot bc we suggested it years ago and he decided he would like to do that! hopefully someday we’ll get free flights and the industry will get a great pilot!
