bro you need more likes for that great work. ^welldone ^
You really need to add Wind River. That shootout at the end is savage. Also it’s fairly realistic.
Edit: up until the super bullets.
Thanks man. You’re amazing!🥺
Not going lie I thought den of thieves was number 1 but after seeing heat…that’s number 1 hands down lol
No annoying narrator?
No hanging around looking at intro sequences or transitions??
A clear and concise list at the beginning?
I think I'm in love... 😍
I know right
EXACTLY!!!
watchmojo does not approve this comment
This shit is on goddamn point! It may not be accurate but it’s one of the best made videos I’ve seen.
The actors talking on movies: huh
HEAT is just PERFECT.! the sound of the gunshots echo is REAL.!
They used condenser mics on the buildings and surrounding area, so those gunshots? Those -are- real. Just they used blank firing firearms of course.
Absolutely.. Heat!!!
Agreed but where’s the reloads. Great movie. I think they should’ve included the matrix and John wick 3
@@DraccoKnightblade I think a swedish sound tech did the works and got an oscar for it...
@@skinnyj102 or the jams. NO M4 is cycling that much 5.56 ammo without at least a few feed jams.
This channel reminds me of making burn cd’s with the best songs off each album without having to listen to the whole album just because it has 2 good songs on it.
Good old times)
Fuck, I remember burning a CD with _just_ Greenday's "Holiday" on it.
Nothing better than back in the day on some kind of trip with the homies and popping in burnt CD’s with the bangers on them.
You can't stop the real Napster!!
You kids crack me up 😂 I used to make mixtapes back in the day. Good old cassettes!
one movie that deserves honorable mention. That nightclub scene in Collateral. A Michael Mann film, just like Heat. So awesome!
Or the brief "yo homie" scene
M Mann is a friggin amazing director, especially his uses of sound and lighting. Love the Collateral props; such a badass flick.😊
@@ryandonovan5895 If it had bee filmed in Philly ...it would be ..HOMIE!! Is THAT my CheeseSteak??
@@ryandonovan5895my man Vincent handled that HK USP .45 like a freaking surgeon.
Agreed. CQC. When he tells max to move two to the left, three feet ahead-gives Vincent line of sight to his target. I like it when Vincent took his target out (The nightclub), he holsters his piece and just walks away. "We're done." He doesn't panic or start shooting because people are running around, he just walks and disappears into the crowd.
Miami Vice is another one too. Trying to find the two snipers with thermals on the cargo ship and containers.
Love the den of thrives highway scene.. Hollywood of course won't get it all the way right when going tactical cause some stuff just looks cooler but they did a hell of a job, the main guy is amazing.
It certainly was fuckin awesome, but i actually love the first heist shootout even more. Everyone only ever praises the final shootout, even though the first ones at least every bit as badass. What make it a tad better than the final firefight was the cool looking black outfits and white gasmasks that the gang was wearing, they looked so fuckin badass. I also think the guns sound-effects a little bit better in that scene as well.
Pablo didn’t serve but he’s a shooter irl.
Me whenever I hear someone crying about hollywood: 14:48
Den of thieves had some awesome shootouts and pretty good tactics for a movie but as leo you wouldn't stop to talk with a suspect whose been shot (50 cent), and let your partner run after a well armed, highly skilled, highly dangerous felon by themselves lol.
Well, I reckon, they've written the script that way for dramatic effect: to collide protagonist and antagonist in the final fight.
that's why it's a movie
I aint gonna lie. Id prob stop because anyone who dies deserves someone by their side.
@@BrandedConservative not after they just tried to take your life lol I would give them a love tap
@@MovieWhisperer the final shootout is nearly perfect, I did find one issue that nobody EVER mentions. When Gerard Butler is bounding up there is a scene where he does not have a magazine in his SCAR. Love that scene so much, especially Merriman opening the shootout with the SAW.
That heat scene was ode 🔥
Yeah, it's good)
@@alpinoalpini3849 It's because they had custom chest rigs for their magazines.
@@alpinoalpini3849 Are you kidding...? I saw plenty of reloads, plenty of people getting hit, and the driver losing his hearing in the car, which actually happened during filming. You need to get your eyes checked out.
@@alpinoalpini3849 You're braindead if you think any of these scenes are better than the Heat one
@@alpinoalpini3849 Im watching it now and you picked literally one of the worst scenes for claiming "unlimited ammo mags." I'm two minutes in and I've already seen at least 4 reloads. Did you actually watch it...? Or are you confusing it with another scene?
Can we all just agree that the Heat Shootout is the best movie shootout ever (so far), and then we can make lists for possible second place?
Heat shootouts are meh
guy doesn’t even reload but the sounds are TOP TOP top. Notch!
Den of thief’s is better
No
I think the dragon breath scene in john wick 4 almost beat it
Heat is the best for me , perfect blend of style and action . No wonder a couple of GTA 5's heists were copied of it but not to the level of Heat .
the sound design is just *chef's kiss*
@@jonathanbethards3689 That's because it's the sound of real gunshots--not just typical sound effects added in post-production.
@@andrewnesbitt2523 Michael Mann knows what a gun should truly sound like.
Its more like a mission in GTA IV.
Oh boy you'd love to know payday 2 has the exact sequence almost in it
I really enjoy this collection of shootouts
I bet you do)
Finally somebody who puts the whole scene not just 30% of it, Thank you❤
I was the lead scenic artist on the movie Elysium responsible for painting the 3 Nissan GTR's used in that scene , one hero car , one back up, and one shell that used for the flipping over stunt . Not a great movie but was a hell of fun painting gig
Bruh this is the movie that i will hold high my entire life. From the concept alone iam really into this movie. You should be proud man, thanks for the tasty car👌
Not kidding when I watched this YT clip I went "No, don't shoot the GTR!". Well done, son.
Where is The way of the Gun. The hotel shootout with the bagmen was on of the best shootouts ever
One of the most underrated movies of all time. One of my personal favorites.
100%. as was the hospital chase/shootout
@@casefc3s MOVING!
Bruh, when he jumps into the empty fountain...had me rolling lmao.
No one I’ve asked knows about the way of the gun definitely a classic…”I’ve never killed a man” 😂
Why does no one ever have the gun fight from Hot Fuzz it’s long as hell and funny.
I have it in Vol. 3 and Vol. 4
Because it’s fucking goofy and meant to be a joke piece.
one of the greats for sure...I think the fact that its genre was outside of the dramas, crime thrillers, and war movies people disregard it but the fact its a comedy pulling it off makes it that much better
Holy crap that first scene was intense!!! Sh** being a passenger in the middle of that gun fight would be insane!
The double mag dump
No literally they probably killed so many people, all because they decided to have a shootout on an active road with trapped people… really took me out of it lol
The intensity from Val in that scene is why it’s the best of all time LEGENDARY
Imo No Country For Old Men had the best shootout(s) in film history. The most believeable, and imo the best at using action as narration I've ever seen in film. Nothing will beat the silent suspense of 2 hunters tracking each other.
Definitely the most nerve racking.
Deliverance.
Southern Comfort.
If ya like hunter, prey flicks.
You don’t yell "contact" until your being engaged. Why can’t Hollywood get that right.
Write them an explanation letter)
@@MovieWhisperer and maybe a satchel charge inside a briefcase
And an army name badge thing
Soldier here. You are right, in most situations contact is being yelled after being engaged by whatever the hostile force may be, it applies here though, you dont need to be getting shot at. As long as theres a hostile force coming your direction and your intent is to engage or expect engagement, it applies as contact. Hollywood actually did surprisingly well on many things from bounding, calls and gun sounds. I heard the film was good because of some director who had a background or something.
Why don't you call of duty players go to Hollywood and show us how it's done.
Den of thieves first scene. Was as good as as the town
Yep, I like them too)
To have Den of Thieves as #1 when they ripped off “Heat” and Heat shootout was better!
Den of Thieves’ shootouts were nowhere as good as The Town.
@@ReggieHammon really. We have films with the same scenes and plots that are "EXACT" and were still about how "oh mastermind in film in cops vs robbers, im just saying, personally l liked den of thieves, more than heat but still it's my opinion, but hey, at the end of the day, thier still good movies.
The den of thieves best shootout was the traffic jam on slauson
Aahh, District 9. Best alien movie to date, no competition.
Waiting for District 10 now)
Eeehhhhhh......... not my personal choice.
Amazing flick
Check out halo landfall
Dude had an eye for scifi shootouts
I remember watching HEAT with my Dali 8008 back in 97. My neighbors weren't too happy with the shootout scene.
About the list, for me HEAT is number one with its great sound fidelity, albeit overexaggerated.
It's not overexaggerated. It's literally realistic as they used real weapons with real blank rounds to record all the scenes & sound effects on the spot. It feels over the top because basically no other movie bothers doing that. The result is simply fantastic.
That scene is king 🤴🏻
Man fuck your neighbors man fuck em
You must of never shot any guns if you think it’s over exaggerated
There is no way they walk away from that M249....
I got so mad when I saw that
It was supposed that they would make it out normally but as they found out that they were being chased they had to do a sacrifice for the M249, it wouldn't be very effective to bring it tho as they didn't had for reload it and it would just be another weight more to carry
Especially one so shiny and new
@@Ben-Affleck.they were never supposed to make it out. They were the distraction.
13 Hours: Secret Soldiers of Benghazi
Act of Valor water extraction scene
Should also be in this list
21 and the lobby scene from the matrix
Fun fact Heat shootout music was done by 《Brian Eno》 Musical genius.
The sound design is brilliant there)
Wanted Gerald Butler to win in Law Abiding Citizen so bad, but wanted his skull peeled open in this one way more...what a terrific actor.
Wow hell or high water actually shows automatic fire accurately without having them have 100 bullets fired from a 30 round clip beforw reloading like most movies do.
Highly recommend the movie
Hell or High Water is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's amazing. I highly recommend it
It’s called a magazine! 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah for my money Hell or High Water is probably the most “realistic” overall. Well… maybe tied with Heat
@@KayButtonJay oh I love heat. Most of Michael Manns work I love. Same with Collateral and public enemies.
Heat all day long, period!... No soundtracks, just pure raw shooting, tactics so well executed that even today the scene is used like training of shooting tactics example in US Armed forces, the scene was supervised and the actors trained by an ex SAS, one of the most famous and experienced Uk SAS operative, Andy McNab.
"told you" words that will echo in that mans mind for the rest of his life.
Maybe, maybe)
Heat is #1 period the most realistic shooting gun effects
EXACTLY!!! I don't care what any other bum says
_Can't beat Heat, man. The scene was lit. Sound and action were great and acted by some of the great actors._
Blackhawk Down was 2 hours of heat. Nothing beats Blackhawk Down.
Ben foster, what an actor, what an actor...
Oh, yeah, he's great)
Surprised not to see the final shootout from "The Veteran" here. It, hands down, is lauded as one of the most realistic shootouts every filmed from the standpoint of a trained soldier versus gunmen.
Collateral damage, actual use of military tactics, bad ending...everything. Honorable mention at least.
It's just vol 1. Keep watching.
Dang. Val had the 200 round magazine. Nice.
Den of thieves is like that one movie where Jeremy Renner is dressed as a cop and he aims empty guns at cops.
Hate to digress. for me personally 13 hours secret soldiers of Bhengazi had some awesome firefight sequences. Not taking away from this list as i've seen most and agree with most, but 13 hours and The Outpost are in my top 2
Outpost straight-up brutal fight scenes, my wife walks in and asks why I am taking cover.....
Heat shootout scene is best of all time
I just realized that I have no idea how they got the bullet holes in the glass as DeNiro was shooting through the windshield in Heat. Like for the back window they just have a squib to shatter the glass and then the muzzle blast from the blanks blows the pieces out but the front windshield straight up looks like they're firing live rounds
I haven't seen Den of Thieves, but surely engaging in a shootout in public traffic is a no go. There would be more dead civilians than bad dudes. Unless they are stealing a doomsday device or something.
I had to kid myself and say I know it's just a movie 🤔😂
Anything directed by Quentin Tarantino is about to be a hit movie.
Facts machine, he was really born to do what he does
I love the sicario shootout it feels real
Heat, first viewing in the cinema pinned me to my seat.
The innovative, expansive sound of gunfire as it echoed around the buildings has NEVER been equalled, never mind bettered!
Nothing like a good old fashion shootout.
👍
... Like a western (LEGEND quote)
So many pre-1995 films to see. Personally, I think realism beats out comic-book, stylized choreography every time.
District 9 is if every kid that got bullied got put in a Gundam suit and got to deal with their problems, uncivilized to say the least.
Oh, yeah) I like that movie
that second Den of Thieves shootout where he shoots out all the front and rear car windows to start the fight is legendary, but I have to give it to Heat as the best in this particular video. The sounds of the bullets in the Heat video are so realistic
In Heat, were the cops seriously using shotguns from that range? Talk about collateral damage.
Call of duty attachments does helps
They must have been loaded with slugs
A shotgun can go 30 meters by the way
I just assumed he had slugs loaded in
12 gauge 00 buck is effective on human point targets out to 50 yards. And individual pellets are still potentially lethal to human area targets out 100.
The "spread" of buck out of an 18" or 20" cylinder bore shotgun is WAY smaller than most folks think it is. It'll go where you aim it out to 50ish yards.
Also... a loose buckshot pellet is far less lethal than a much heavier wayward 5.56 or pistol bullet... you think every shot those cops fired hit what it was aimed at?
That block was a no man's land - regardless of what was being fired.
So cool how Wikus survived and was able to at least put his skills to good use as a hired gun 😊😊
Good compilation. Some are kind of realistic.
Enjoy)
All these years later, and HEAT is still the standard.
Den of thieves was spot on
👍🔥
Heat. Every time.
Wind River is also one of the best
Oh, yeah)
Super intense shootout, I actually love how fast it all happens
Taylor Sheridan who wrote Hell and High Water directed Wind River!! Guys a genius. He was also in Sons of Anarchy!!
The heat shootout was in my opinion, the best shootout scene in movie cinema. If anyone can tell me a scene that came before it, that was better, I’m all ears. Again I’m not referring to scenes that came after but before. There’s no den of thieves shootout without heat.
the town was really good imo but heat got the sound right, it echoes and is obnoxiously loud and most hollywood movie gun sounds don't sound right, it would of been the only thing i would change in the town. but jeremy renner running with a tech 9 while reloading was so badass lol
@@tonymironov9012 they used blanked rounds in heat. Real guns.
5:26 Gerard doesn't have a mag in, he must be shooting with those hopes and dreams bullets😂
The one thing everyone forgets about , EAR PROTECTION. And the concussion of bullets to the ears
Isn't the earwax enough for ear protection?
You know anybody who's a street cop that wears ear protection. Let alone the bad guys.
Eeeeh, most military guys dont use them all the time. They make sense in theory but sometimes you need to be able to hear EVERYTHING
They actually paid attention to that detail in Blackhawk Down, one of the machine gunners gave his fellow soldier temporary hearing loss because he fired a squad automatic weapon so close to his hear.
I remember as a kid watching HEAT with my father and not fully grasping cinematography and plot twist, so on and so on. But I remember how each scene in HEAT made me feel. From that dinner scene where De Niro and Pacino spoke, displaying a mutual respect between each other. To the intensity of the bank shoot out scene
Blackhawk down 🤔🤯
Nice collection, True Detective had a great scene the season with Ray.
Forgot about that District 9 pig launch lol
23:17 Yep, it's good
same i laughed sooo hard when i saw that again i legit almost died from laughing soo hard.
Heat is the best shoot out ever in the movies
13 hours has some nice scenes 0:05
I heard/witnessed a shootout from a nightclub in the early hours in the middle of Johannesburg in the mid 90's...tall buildings around, watched everything, yet you couldn't understand the shots were being fired from right in front of you, reverberation played a serious part, only HEAT has come close to that in reality
Really surprised the end of scareface wasn’t here
Can't have it all in one video, mate) Will be on the next one I reckon
Scarface while being one of the greatest movies of all time, doesn't in my opinion rank top 10 for shootouts.
Maybe it's not the most realistic one, but it's funny to watch) I've added it in the 3rd part, which is already on the channel.
The stance the movement the atmosphere. It's all just perfect in Den of Thieves
44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shoot-Out
District 9 and Elysium has awesome badass sci-fi gun shootouts. That 2 is my favorite.
You missed the Candyland shootout in Django Unchained
It's in the Vol. 2 I believe
Near enough an hour passed like ten minutes!!! Great stuff. As stated, full scenes, no voice over. Just full throttle action and an intro that states what the movies are! Other channels could learn a great deal from you. Keep up the great work 👍👍👍
No. 2 in the middle of Den of Thieves and Heat 😂😂😂 its like a big fat bird between two supermodels!
Many men, many minds)
That's from Hell and High water which is actually a pretty damn good movie.
“Pass me the saw “ best line ever
most underrated part about most of these movies people cry about dumb shit not real. how about the movies that actually have people reload at a reasonable time.
You are a tad emotional)
This is very stress-relieving for some reason... 😆
Django would fit in nicely
It's already on the channel. Check the Vol. 2 of Shootouts.
I remember watching Heat in the cinema, surround sound on 11.
I thought I was in the middle of it all! Intense.
I’m yet to experience a movie shoot out like it.
Heat #1 for me. 👌
2:52
I always found that so dumb. He leaves the vehicle knowing the cops are behind them, sets up his weapon, waits until the cops get close and then the rest of them get out of the car....makes no sense. Was the entire point of that process just to show that they use hand signals so the audience can think “Ohhhhh they talk with their hands. PrOfEsSiOnAl.”
I don't know) Maybe such move has some tactical meaning
@@MovieWhisperer yes u r right...it works in movie.
Probably to catch the cops off guard, they see the guys leave but all of a sudden they get opened up on even though the visible baddies aren't facing them.
So awesome that so far 2 of the clips have Sharto from the A TEAM!
American police going towards the sound of gunfire is the most unbelievable thing in any of these scenes
So you must be a police officer to know all this information
Great list, I would’ve had Act of Valor at number one though. The scene near the beginning when the STAB OR SWIC comes down the river to scoop the troop is pretty unreal.
14:02 Fire power really works
And the sound of his metal balls I guess)
@@MovieWhisperer probably
Wickus's rampage is legendary...that damn lighting gun is insane on the combat chassis and the hand heald.
i don't get the thing of hollywood and full auto weapons. to me full auto is good for supression and semi is good for killshots and thats what they want mostly
Agree
@@MovieWhisperer plus i think it looks a much more professional shooter than full auto
Heat
Apocalypse now helicopter assault
D Day scene Saving Private Ryan
Platoon, final battle
We were soldiers

Stormtroopers in action movies?? Bruh they can’t hit a shot
Where do you see stormtroopers?
I don’t, they have stormtrooper aim
Can’t hit a shot
@@mountainbikingwithlogan6163 Not all of them. It's harder than it seems to shoot people
you try fucking shooting accurately with adrenaline and the fear of death pumping through your veins, it's not Call of Duty man, you have to account for so much more in real gunfights than just aiming straight
@@maybetomorrownewmaker still it’s not that hard
Michael Mann and Neil Blomkamp have a special eye for action sequences
ok MW are you high putting 1995's Heat at #3?? lol or lower its the #1 Cops and Robbers shoot out in history and still is. Literally inspired a real bankrobbery in LA famously caught on video. The Den of Thieves director clearly watched Heat a # of times. You didn't put MicHael Manns other movie Miami Vice which had an incredible gun battle at the end of it on your list Elysium be serious lol. I could go on. But I'll subscribe to your channel anyways and be # 288 I appreciate the effort. Cheers from Toronto
As for the drug intoxication - no I am not high and never been. (even drunk) =). As for the Heat - position of the clips are totally random, and 1st position in the top doesn't necessarily mean that this is the best scene in this top, as well as 10th doesn't mean that it's rubbish. As for other movies being added to the top consisting of only 10 pieces - you can't have everything in one video, but I'll add Miami Vice to the future ones. As for Elysium - yeah, why not, we need a bit of diversity here. Thx, mate))
Holy fucking shit Book of Eli was one take
It was indeed)
Finally someone who understands how fucking awesome Heat is
Great picks. I would honorable mention 3000 Miles to Graceland.
You missed every John Woo movie
Such a shame
Wouldn't exactly say they had good shootouts
The hong kong movies he made or the american ones?
The bounding in den of thieves was actually pretty well done. Except breaking contact would have been the best option instead of just getting into a gun fight they knew was coming.
When is part 2 releasing?
It's already on the channel)
No mention of "13 Hours"? One of the most realistic and well shot "shootouts" I have ever seen on film. Heat is still awesome, though.
There's no other shootout scene in the history of movie that can match the HEAT movie scene.
That's subjective
Heat 💯
23:18 Pig shot???
Yeah, it's more effective than .50 BMG))
@@MovieWhisperer outstanding!! 👍🏽
